    25: Progesterone

What did Qiu Shi go to do?

Tsukimi Rin regretted it after eating again. Wasn’t she supposed to be fasting?

After resting for a while, she and Qiu Ci sat awkwardly. During this time, Qiu Ci glanced at her belly several times.

Qiu Ci spoke first, “How have you been feeling lately?”

What feelings should she have? She didn’t feel anything. Tsukimi Rin couldn’t feel any of the discomfort that should come with pregnancy. Could it be that she wasn’t pregnant?

“I don’t feel anything. How about Qiu Shi?”

“There’s something going on in the China region. Don’t worry, she’ll handle it soon.” Tsukimi Rin’s eyes drooped. What else could it be? An engagement? Or something else?

Qiu Ci saw through her worries, “Elder sister is just busy with work. Young Master Qin is in the United States year-round.”

Embarrassed that her thoughts were exposed, Tsukimi Rin buried her head in the blanket, not wanting to talk.

It would be good if she weren’t pregnant. She couldn’t be locked up by Qiu Shi for life. Once she left this place, she would still be Japan’s young female investigator.

“Rin-nee, I was sent by elder sister to take care of you. It’s been half a month. Since you’re in good spirits today, we should go for a check-up.”

Tsukimi Rin was pulled by Qiu Ci to the hospital for a blood hCG and progesterone test.

    hCG was significantly elevated.

    Similarly, progesterone secretion was normal.

    Tsukimi Rin’s heart died.

The doctor said that things were basically stable now, and she could go home to rest.

She returned to the villa with Qiu Ci.

Qiu Ci was much quieter than Qiu Shi and wouldn’t disturb her at night.

With Qiu Shi gone, Qiu Ci didn’t deliberately hide at night either.

Once, Tsukimi Rin woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t fall back asleep, so she went to sit in the living room.

She saw that the kitchen light was still on.

It was Qiu Ci looking at a recipe, soaking grains.

Qiu Ci was wearing Bluetooth earphones, probably listening to music, weighing each ingredient with his left hand, carefully washing them, and then soaking them in water.

Turning around, he was slightly surprised to see Tsukimi Rin at the door, “Why are you awake?”

“What are you doing?” Tsukimi Rin asked simply.

Qiu Ci held up a book titled “What to Eat Every Week During Pregnancy,” “Preparing multigrain porridge to cook for tomorrow morning.” Qiu Ci smiled gently.

Tsukimi Rin rolled her eyes, wondering if Qiu Ci thought the child in her belly was his, “Do you have to try so hard to please your sister?”

“It’s not about pleasing her. I also like this child very much.” Qiu Ci’s light green eyes held infinite tenderness, “She will also have a blood relationship with me. How have you been feeling lately?” Did she like the child more now? Qiu Ci didn’t say the last sentence.

“Not so good. I want to go out.” Tsukimi Rin was troubled and pained, having been without freedom for two months.

It had only been a month. There weren’t many changes in the fetus in her belly yet.

Qiu Ci nodded, “Tomorrow afternoon then. You’ve been in Paris for so long, and you haven’t been out to see it yet.”

Actually, Tsukimi Rin wanted to go out alone, but she was worried that Qiu Ci would change his mind.

For half a month straight, Qiu Ci often took her to quiet parks with few people, “I wanted to take you to the tourist attractions, but there are too many people and it’s too crowded there. It’s spring in Paris, so the natural parks are also very beautiful, aren’t they?”

    Tsukimi Rin nodded absentmindedly.

She had spent a month alone with Qiu Ci.

Qiu Ci was knowledgeable and could talk to Tsukimi Rin about anything, and he was good at conversation.

Tsukimi Rin didn’t feel any discomfort during their interactions, especially since Qiu Ci deliberately downplayed Tsukimi Rin’s awareness of the child.

When they got caught up in conversation, Tsukimi Rin even forgot that she was pregnant with someone else’s child.

This man also paid close attention to Tsukimi Rin’s child, as if it was his own.

He had read more than a dozen books on pregnancy precautions, finishing several books in a few days.

He paid more attention to the child than Tsukimi Rin did.

The three meals a day were also of excellent quality, prepared by Qiu Ci himself, with occasional help from the nanny.

If Qiu Ci got married in the future, that girl would definitely be very happy. Qiu Ci was more attentive and loving than Qiu Shi.

Qiu Ci was quiet, doing his own thing while also taking good care of his loved one.

    Silence, dedication, gentleness.

    Those were Qiu Ci’s labels.

Qiu Shi also returned to France after a month.

When she arrived at the villa, she happened to see the two of them having lunch, and this harmonious scene was especially jarring to the real girlfriend.

But seeing that Qiu Ci was indeed taking good care of Tsukimi Rin, she couldn’t find a reason to make things difficult for him, so she took Tsukimi Rin to the hospital under the guise of a prenatal checkup.

    Qiu Ci also disappeared again.

The prenatal checkup results were very good. The fetus was developing well, and the pregnant woman’s hormones were also normal.

This was all thanks to Qiu Ci’s careful care.

Qiu Shi also accompanied Tsukimi Rin, but their conversations were too awkward. Realizing that Qiu Shi wouldn’t let her go, Tsukimi Rin didn’t want to say any more nonsense.

After a few days, she got annoyed and missed Qiu Ci a little.

Tsukimi Rin would occasionally pass by the kitchen at three in the morning to see if Qiu Ci was soaking beans.

The housekeeper would soak the grains after dinner.

Qiu Ci would soak them in the middle of the night.

Because soaking them for four hours gave them the best texture when cooked.

Qiu Shi came up behind her at some point, “Baby, are you hungry?”

Tsukimi Rin shook her head, “Just wandering around.”

“Can’t sleep?” Qiu Shi was very sleepy, and even yawned as she spoke.

Tsukimi Rin became quiet again, silently turned around and went back to her room to sleep. Qiu Shi lay down behind her again, habitually wrapping her arm around her bed partner’s waist.

Tsukimi Rin had been deliberately maintaining her figure since she was a teenager, and her waist had always been very thin. Recently, it seemed, it had gotten a little thicker. Was it the baby?

Qiu Shi closed her eyes and went to sleep, satisfied.

But Tsukimi Rin had a difficult time falling asleep.

It wasn’t until the sky turned red that she finally drifted off to sleep.

When she opened her eyes again, it was already bright daylight. For a moment, she wasn’t sure where she was.

She had a headache from this sleep.

Like that year when she was seventeen, after working the night shift and catching up on sleep during the day.

There was no one beside her.

Tsukimi Rin washed up and went downstairs.

She saw Qiu Ci reading a book at the dining table.

Hearing footsteps, Qiu Ci looked up, “Awake? Elder sister has gone to China again. Are you hungry?” Qiu Ci went to the kitchen to heat up food.

Tsukimi Rin’s mood improved a lot as soon as Qiu Shi left.

It had been a month and a half, almost two months.

Tsukimi Rin herself seemed to be able to accept the child, which was very abnormal. As Qiu Shi said, she was being affected by pregnancy hormones.

She was becoming less and less like Tsukimi Rin.

This child would definitely be very happy after birth. Qiu Shi would like her because she was Qiu Shi’s own blood.

Qiu Ci would also be very good to her, probably spoiling the child from a very young age.

He would also definitely respect her hobbies.

Qiu Ci had really said, “Actually, elder sister also likes to draw. If this is related to genes, and this little one likes it in the future, I will definitely teach her from a very young age, and then send her to the best art school. Of course, if she likes music, skating, or anything else, I will support her.”

Tsukimi Rin simply couldn’t imagine what kind of spoiled brat this child’s uncle would turn her into if she were a little girl.
