35: The Same Kind of People

Qiu Shi sighed: “What are you doing this for? Have I ever deprived you of food and clothing these past few years?”

“But what I wanted, you took away long ago.” In Qiu Ci’s light green eyes, there was no trace of affection: “I don’t want these things. If we could start over, would you just choose the inheritance? Don’t play with me like this.”

After more than a decade of wandering, Qiu Shi did it for Tsukimi Rin. Who could Qiu Ci do it for?

“I haven’t been good to you these years, but since childhood, I’ve always regarded us as one. If either of us lives well in the future, the other will also be happy. Don’t go against me; we’re each other’s only family.” Qiu Shi’s words were sincere.

“Do you remember when I was ten years old, because Mr. Qin came to visit, you locked me in the warehouse for three days?”

Of course, Qiu Shi remembered: “At that time, I was young and didn’t understand. Everyone said that President Qin was a pervert, a pedophile, so I wanted to protect you.”

“Should I thank you? After all, I almost starved to death back then.”

“I apologize to you, good younger brother, hmm?” Qiu Shi sat closer to Qiu Ci, feeling sorry for him.

Qiu Ci smiled; their relationship was already estranged.

Qiu Shi seemed to have thought of something: “Jing Yueming’s letter? Are you in contact with him?”

Qiu Ci’s smile became a little unnatural.

The cunning older sister immediately figured it out: “It couldn’t be using my name, could it?”

Now it was Qiu Shi’s turn to laugh: “No, just for a kid? I really thought you didn’t care. If you like him, just tell me; I won’t…”

“Won’t what?” Qiu Ci narrowed his eyes, looking at this woman: “He’s only seventeen years old, taking the college entrance exam next year, and you’re toying with him like this? In the midst of passionate love, cheating and betrayal? Telling him you were going to France to study, but actually going to be with your girlfriend. Is that your love? And what are your feelings for Tsukimi Rin? Sunk cost? Because you can’t bear to lose over a decade of investment? Hmph, sister, you want everything, don’t you? You want Jing Yueming, you want Tsukimi Rin, you want to reconcile with me, and you want shares. You’re greedy enough.”

Qiu Shi pondered for two or three seconds: “Is there a problem with that? If you want something, just say it. Am I supposed to have the heart of a saint, allowing anyone to cut off a piece of my flesh to fill their stomachs? It’s enough for me to satisfy you within my means.”

“I want shares, and I want Jing Yueming. Will you give them to me?”

“I can give you half of the shares, but important decisions must rely on me.”

“Then I also want you to leave the financial world.”

“Impossible, little brother. You can’t stand on your own without me.”

“With you, I have a chance to live? If Tsukimi Rin and I were simultaneously facing life-threatening danger, would you save me? Why should I give you the power to choose, give you this opportunity?” Qiu Ci didn’t give in either.

“What have you been doing this past year? If you tell me, then I will forgive you. But if you lie or conceal anything, then I won’t let you set foot in the Hua region again. As for that Jing Yueming, don’t even think about it.”

“Then we have nothing to talk about. I’m not a chess piece, nor am I without desires. We are the same.”

Before leaving, Qiu Shi left a sentence: “Haven’t you taken anything from me? If you had been more proactive when we were little, I wouldn’t have had to study the financial industry that I didn’t like at such a young age. I would have been as innocent as you. Qiu Ci, we are indeed the same kind of people.”

After Qiu Shi left, Qiu Ci took a quick shower and went to bed.

Qiu Shi couldn’t sleep after returning to her room, so she went downstairs to the convenience store to buy a pack of cigarettes.

When paying, the person said something in Japanese that Qiu Shi didn’t understand. She raised her head in confusion and saw Tsukimi Rin smiling at the cash register: “Hi.”

Qiu Shi almost thought she was hallucinating: “Baby, how did you get here?”

“I missed you. You’ve taken so many flights for me, so I took one for you.”

Qiu Shi hugged Tsukimi Rin: “Let’s go, baby, to my place.”

Tsukimi Rin at least knew roughly where she was, but not the exact location. By chance, she saw Qiu Shi come to the convenience store, so she pretended to be at the cash register.

Qiu Shi took her back to her floor in the building.

During their chat that night, Qiu Shi told Tsukimi Rin about Qiu Ci’s trouble.

Tsukimi Rin was also very surprised. In her impression, Qiu Ci was gentle and considerate; how could he be like this?

“It was all an act before. He’s very troublesome.” Except for the matter of Jing Yueming, Qiu Shi told her everything.

“Then are you confident in competing with him for the inheritance?”

“Of course I’m confident. I’ve been working hard for many years, and Qiu Ci can’t catch up in a year or two. The performance in the year I took office alone is enough to beat this kid.” Qiu Shi’s past could indeed be considered that of a young prodigy.

Tsukimi Rin nodded, and couldn’t help but worry about Qiu Ci. Qiu Ci had gradually revealed his true nature since they separated.

The first time she contacted him, Su Yuyang hinted that Qiu Shi was imprisoning Qiu Ci.

The next time they met, there was even a slanderous letter to provoke their relationship.

It was heartbreaking to think of such a wonderful young man becoming like this: “Qiu Shi, will you retaliate against your brother?”

“No, I’ll just banish him far away again, and then wait for him to soften. He’s actually very smart; he’ll probably apologize to me when I inherit the inheritance.”

“Advise him; he’s actually quite good.” Tsukimi Rin said casually.

It made Qiu Shi feel sour and burning. During those months in the villa, Qiu Ci had already achieved his goal, creating a perfect persona in front of Tsukimi Rin.

Qiu Shi, who originally thought she had everything under control, soon realized that something was wrong.

Those elders seemed to be intentionally or unintentionally gravitating towards Qiu Ci.

Qiu Shi pulled out all the key things from the China branch this year.

Many of the contracts that had been agreed upon had been modified.

These modified contracts were entirely designed to bring greater benefits to CW Enterprise, especially the shareholders, and would lead to the gradual bankruptcy and foreign debt of many small and medium-sized enterprises.

Qiu Shi was reminded of the crisis facing the financial world last year, wondering if it was related to this.

For a bigger piece of the pie in the future, the shareholders would certainly protect Qiu Ci.

    How dare he.

Qiu Shi didn’t dare to tell Tsukimi Rin about this for the time being.

Such methods were no longer worthy of a leader.

This era requires a win-win situation. Qiu Ci, for his own sake, completely disregarded what impact it would have.

Qiu Shi didn’t say anything for the time being, but slowly collected evidence.

At this point, even if Qiu Ci knew she had discovered it, he couldn’t stop her.

So, he simply stayed by Louis’ side, playing the role of a filial son.

Until Qiu Shi brought several contracts circled in red to Qiu Ci’s private floor.

“Sister has been working hard these past few days.”

“Are you in such a hurry? To buy the support of the shareholders? Do you know how many families will be ruined!” Qiu Shi really wanted to slap him.

“Have I been living well?” Qiu Ci retorted: “Do you want me to always be suppressed by you?”

“What do you think father will do when he finds out?”

    “Father is also a businessman.”

“Is this all you learned in business school, these dirty tricks? Damn it, back then…”

“Wouldn’t you have interfered with me? Thinking back, wouldn’t you have sent me to business school? That’s good, sister.” Qiu Ci smiled faintly.
