Chapter 4: Other Players Have Returned?

The clock in the corridor already pointed to midnight. The hospital was abnormally silent. The on-duty nurses and the guarding police officers had all vanished. The empty corridor stretched out from beneath their feet and disappeared into the darkness.

    “Clack, clack, clack!”

Hurried footsteps echoed, something was running. Perhaps it was a terrified human, or perhaps it was something else entirely.

    “Clack, clack…”

Qin Xian’s footsteps were as steady as his expression. He even had the leisure to glance into the wards as he passed, looking through the observation windows.

Most of the beds in the wards were empty. The rooms were dark and unoccupied. This indicated that the perpetrator’s abilities were average, unable to pull too many people into their domain.

Dealing with it should be relatively easy.

But he was the only one for whom it would be easy. For the other living people, it was a completely different story.

The suspect who had been brought into the hospital woke up from a nightmare to see the red-glowing light tubes above him.

It was very quiet around him, but he could hear countless murmurs mixed with his own heartbeat.

These murmurs were from men, women, old, and young. At first, they were indistinct, but gradually, the groans of pain became clearer.

They cursed, pleaded, and screamed, finally unifying into screams that could almost tear their throats apart.

The man immediately struggled to sit up, only to find his hands cuffed to the bed frame. The handcuffs clanged against the sturdy iron frame. The man grabbed the chains and pulled desperately, but they didn’t budge.

As if disturbed by his movements, the surrounding murmurs and screams suddenly ceased.

The man froze as if paused, holding his breath. But it was too late. Countless eyes in the darkness turned in his direction.

‘You look… so healthy. Give us your body…’

The paused motion suddenly resumed. Regardless of whether his wrists would break, the man painfully pulled at the handcuffs, making them clang. But the handcuffs remained stubbornly attached to the bed frame.

“Ahhh!! Let go! I’m not healthy! Can’t you see my face is all wrinkled? Don’t come for me!! Damn it!!”

The light above grew dimmer and redder. In the faint light, the surrounding walls began to darken rapidly from the corners towards the center.

Something was covering the entire wall.

Then, this black membrane began to bulge. Human heads, screaming, pushed hard against the black membrane. The outlines of their faces were clearly visible.

“Damn it! Ha, damn it!!!” The man changed his posture, attempting to kick the iron bars with his feet. But this was clearly a foolish move. The momentary intense pain rendered him speechless. He hunched over, seeing stars, and took several seconds to recover.

In just those few seconds, dozens of human upper bodies had already emerged from the wall. They pushed against the black membrane, making it uneven, and the fingertips of their outstretched hands seemed on the verge of breaking through the membrane and rushing out.

But the black membrane didn’t break. Several pairs of black hands suddenly grabbed the bed rails. The bed frame began to move, the metal legs scraping against the floor with a sharp sound.

“Ahhh!!” The man screamed as he was pulled towards the head of the bed. But the handcuffs held him firmly in place. He could only watch helplessly as countless hands got closer and closer, almost poking his eyeballs.

    “Bang!”

The ward door was suddenly kicked open with immense force. The grotesque beings, half their bodies out of the wall, suddenly froze and collectively turned their heads towards the door.

Their sunken eyes, covered by the black membrane, seemed to see, and they stared intently at the person who had arrived.

The man on the hospital bed, having narrowly escaped, collapsed in exhaustion, his chin hitting the hard bed board heavily, aggravating an old injury.

Tears streamed down his face from the pain, but he still endured the ache and looked towards the doorway.

Due to the swelling and injuries on his face, he could only make out that the person was a tall man wearing a black trench coat, holding a white, fleshy object in his hand.

For some reason, this object seemed a bit familiar.

‘You’re so healthy, you’re even healthier!! Give us your body!!!’

The human-like figures on the wall suddenly shouted in unison. They moved rapidly across the wall, their arms extending like rubber, reaching for Qin Xian.

Qin Xian stood still, but without any fear. He even casually tossed the marrow bone upwards. The bone spun twice in the air before he gripped it tightly. Then, he swung it down from above. The first three or four ghostly hands were violently bent at sharp angles.

‘Ahhhh!!!! It hurts, it hurts! I’m broken, I’m broken! I don’t want bone setting, I don’t want steel plates, it hurts!!!’

Waves of screams echoed. These grotesque beings were mostly composed of the resentment of the dead. Those who experienced the pain of a broken bone cried out with particular ferocity.

‘You hurt me! You pay! Pay me my medical fees and lost wages!!!’

The grotesque beings screamed and extended more of their bodies, lunging towards Qin Xian.

Qin Xian silently raised his bone.

The black figures paused in unison, but soon their bloodthirsty instincts took over. They continued to rush forward.

Qin Xian sneered, hefted the bone, and started hitting the ghosts. He didn’t aim for fatal spots, but for the most painful ones.

Kneecaps, nose bridges, chins, finger joints. The screams turned the entire ward into something akin to the eighteenth level of hell.

The man locked to the hospital bed couldn’t help but tremble at the sound.

Who was this sudden powerful figure? Surely one of the top players on the game’s clearing list? But which of those few used a bone?

He strained his eyes, but could only vaguely see that the person wore a mask and couldn’t see their face at all.

In just a few seconds of thought, Qin Xian had already beaten the black membrane figures halfway back into the wall. Only a few dared to poke their heads out, baring their teeth at Qin Xian.

Qin Xian raised his bone and swung it at these peeking figures. The bone passed through the black human bodies.

This was the characteristic of this kind of grotesque being. They were the condensed resentments of many dead people. When gathered together, they could form physical attacks. But after being beaten, they could revert to their phantom form.

At this point, physical attacks were useless against them. It was very troublesome without other means.

“Tsk, annoying pests.” Qin Xian ignored these lowest-level grotesque beings and turned to look at the information on the hospital bed, asking, “Your name is Xun Dawei?”

The man on the hospital bed quickly nodded, “Yes, my name is Xun Dawei. Brother, please save my life!!”

“I’m not that kind-hearted,” Qin Xian replied coldly.

Xun Dawei bowed even lower, almost prostrating himself on the bed, and asked, “Uh, Brother, what business do you have with me? I’ll tell you everything!”

Qin Xian asked, “How did you get out?”

“How did I get out, what do you mean…” Xun Dawei suddenly faltered, then tremblingly pointed a finger at Qin Xian and said, “I know, I know who you are! You know that world, but you don’t know our escape method. You’re Huang E! Right?!!”

Qin Xian’s expression was indifferent, even though the man comically mispronounced his title “Xian” as “E” with a lisp.

He coldly said, “Answer my question.”

“Hahahaha!!” Xun Dawei laughed heartily, “You must be surprised. You’re surprised that the Main God said only the first place could leave, and you fought desperately to get first place, only to find that we failures also got out. I won’t tell you the reason, unless you take me to a safe place and help me hide from the police!”

He shouted incoherently, his bandages on his face oozing blood again.

Seeing this, Qin Xian turned around, took a few steps back, and stood at the head of the bed. He said to the black membrane on the wall, “My body is not for you. But this person has no more use, so I’ll give him to you.”

    ‘Really? Give us to you?’

The black membrane on the wall stirred. Several figures poked out again, reaching towards Xun Dawei on the bed.

Xun Dawei struggled violently, “Don’t you want to know the answer!? Huang E, I’ll tell you! You think you’re so amazing, right? You’re just an ordinary person now! But some players are different. If they find you, you’ll definitely die a horrible death… Ah! Don’t eat me! Xian, I’ll tell you how we left, get them away!”

Qin Xian sneered, “The Main God made you a promise, didn’t he? For example, you can leave, but you must bring the grotesque beings back with you.”

Xun Dawei suddenly faltered, his mouth agape, speechless.

“As expected. The darkness of human nature is well manipulated by the Main God.” Qin Xian took a step forward, getting closer to Xun Dawei.

The grotesque beings that were about to devour him all stopped their actions. Their eyeless heads turned with Qin Xian. They couldn’t understand Qin Xian’s intentions and dared not act rashly.

Qin Xian continued, “You hate that only I could return, and you hate ordinary people living safely here. Why should only you be unlucky? Even if it means becoming a traitor to humanity, you’re willing to bring the grotesque beings into this world, aren’t you?”

“You… you, so what if I am! You’re right, but I’m not wrong! Is it wrong for me to want to survive!?” Xun Dawei’s neck strained, his face turning red with agitation.

Qin Xian snorted, “Who cares about you? Say that to the police.”

Before Xun Dawei could understand, he saw a white, fleshy bone swing towards his head again.

“Don’t! ‘Seed Paper’! I’ll tell you about the ‘Seed Paper’!”

The bone stopped just in time. Qin Xian asked, “Seed?”

Xun Dawei stammered, “Powerful grotesque beings cannot directly enter this world. They transformed into ‘Seed Paper’ and were brought over. I don’t know anything else… Damn!”

Before he could even utter the word “damn,” he was knocked unconscious by Qin Xian’s blow, his head hanging down.

Pre-order 2: Title: “Everyone Around Me is My Summoned Beast!?”

Synopsis: On June 19, 2025, this synopsis has been notarized by email.

Shen Rui transmigrated into a Western fantasy world and became a newly enrolled summoner.

Magic was difficult to learn, and summoned beasts couldn’t be summoned. Shen Rui felt his days were particularly hard. Sitting in the classroom, he imagined:

The beautiful and gentle teacher on the podium looked like a cat with heterochromia and curly fur. The top student next to him looked like a wise golden retriever. The arrogant second-generation rich kid looked like an enraged hamster.

In his final assessment before being expelled, Shen Rui casually waved his staff and chanted a spell, successfully summoning a beautiful cat with heterochromia.

The cat looked surprised and confused, falling awkwardly with uncoordinated limbs.

Shen Rui quickly scooped up the cat and kissed it: “You’re my first summoned beast, don’t get hurt.”

After that, he summoned a confused golden retriever, a squeaking hamster, a sharp-eyed falcon… It’s just that these summoned beasts looked more and more like the people around him?
