Chapter 19: I Want to Pursue You

Pei Du finished laughing, remembering his weak persona, and covered his right abdomen, turning his head to cough twice.

    “You’ve come, you’ve seen, aren’t you leaving?”

Sheng Yiguang, completely fooled by Pei Du’s acting skills, was heartbroken.

    He didn’t want to leave.

    He wanted to stay here.

“Do you want to eat an apple? I’ll peel one for you.”

Pei Du asked softly, “Sheng Yiguang, what is this? You chase me away, then give me the illusion that you like me.”

Sheng Yiguang’s hand, peeling the apple, paused.

Pei Du slowly propped himself up, moved closer to him, his voice becoming hoarse, his eyes darkening.

“What exactly do you want to do to me?”

“Caring about you, after all, we’re former classmates.”

Pei Du smiled, his eyes falling on his lips, continuing to move closer, the atmosphere becoming ambiguous.

He was going to kiss him.

Sheng Yiguang clenched the apple in his hand.

    “Pei Du.”

    “Mm?”

    “We can’t…”

“Can’t? Then why aren’t you dodging?” Pei Du smiled, his voice very soft, as if afraid of startling him, “If you don’t dodge, I’m going to kiss you.”

Sheng Yiguang’s thin lips pursed slightly, his gaze also falling on Pei Du’s lips, watching him approach, slowly closing his eyes.

    “Pei-ge!”

The door to the hospital room was opened.

Du Chao made a dazzling entrance, followed by Wen Heng.

Pei Du cursed “fuck” and lay back down on the bed.

Sheng Yiguang quickly turned his face away.

“Pei-ge, I heard you were injured…” Du Chao saw Sheng Yiguang, and his expression changed, “Why are you here too?”

Pei Du’s face was full of impatience.

He was already annoyed seeing these two.

Now he was even more annoyed.

Sheng Yiguang pinched his palm, composed himself, and when he got up, he returned to normal, imperceptibly drawing a line between himself and Pei Du.

“Hearing that General Manager Pei was injured, I came to see him on behalf of the company.”

Pei Du: “How did you guys get in?”

Du Chao: “?” Came in through the door.”

    “No one stopped you?”

    “Nope.”

Pei Du guessed that the secretary must have gone to drive away the group of visitors, letting these two slip through.

Wen Heng placed the insulated container in his hand on the bedside table.

“I stewed rib soup, Pei-ge, would you like some?”

Sheng Yiguang silently retreated to the side.

Pei Du saw this, and his face darkened.

    “Don’t want it, get out.”

Du Chao strongly recommended, “Pei-ge, Xiao Wen stewed it for a long time, I wanted to drink it but couldn’t.”

“If you want to drink it, you drink it.”

Wen Heng smiled, “I stewed a lot, one bowl for everyone.”

After speaking, he looked at Sheng Yiguang, “Mr. Sheng, would you like a bowl too? I heard that because of me, you and General Manager Pei argued, I’m sorry. Here, try it, but I’m warning you, my skills aren’t good, so don’t laugh at me.”

Sheng Yiguang looked at the bowl of soup, his expression gloomy.

    He didn’t take it.

Wen Heng was puzzled, “Mr. Sheng?”

Sheng Yiguang raised his eyes to look at Wen Heng, his eyes like cold arrows, “You made it?”

Wen Heng felt a chill down his spine from his gaze, “I made it, is there a problem? Why is Mr. Sheng looking at me like that?”

Sheng Yiguang’s voice had no warmth, “Pei Du is allergic to yams.”

    Wen Heng’s expression froze, “I, I forgot.”

    Forgot?

Sheng Yiguang couldn’t accept this answer.

He had entrusted all of Pei Du’s life and eating habits to him.

    He forgot?

Pei Du looked at Sheng Yiguang, a faint smile in his eyes, and said lazily.

“Luckily, someone remembers, I’m already seriously injured, if I add an allergy, I don’t know if I’ll be able to see the sun tomorrow.”

Sheng Yiguang was provoked by these words, and anger instantly surged to his scalp.

    Wen Heng looked embarrassed, “Sorry.”

“It’s okay, I’ll drink it, won’t be wasteful. Xiao Wen, I’ll drink it all! I’ll drink it now.”

Du Chao stepped forward, picked up the insulated container, and gulped it down.

Pei Du looked at Sheng Yiguang, seeing his expression getting worse and worse, as if gritting his teeth to restrain his anger.

Although he didn’t know what he was thinking, he was so angry.

But it must be the wrong person who provoked him.

Pei Du was about to speak.

Sheng Yiguang left in a fit of pique, if he stayed any longer, he would definitely lose his temper here.

As soon as he left, Pei Du didn’t pretend anymore, lifted the quilt and got out of bed to chase after him.

Du Chao widened his eyes, “Pei-ge, a medical miracle?”

Pei Du said coldly, “You two, get out! ”

Sheng Yiguang, with a bellyful of fire, walked a long way before stopping.

His chest rose and fell violently due to suppression.

“Xiao Wen, don’t be sad, Pei-ge doesn’t dislike you, he’s always been like this, his mouth is poisonous, but he’s actually very sentimental…”

    Sheng Yiguang turned around.

The two people who had been chased out stopped in their tracks when they saw him.

The anger he had tried so hard to suppress instantly erupted.

    “Mr. Wen, can we talk?”

Du Chao was vigilant, stepped forward and stood in front of Wen Heng.

“Hey! Xiao Wen didn’t provoke you!”

Wen Heng pushed him away, “It’s just a few words, don’t overthink it, go wait for me up ahead.”

Du Chao obeyed without question, “Okay.”

After Du Chao left, Wen Heng spoke.

“What does Mr. Sheng want to say to me?”

“Allergies are not a small matter, why don’t you remember? I wrote it on the first page! Even if you don’t remember, knowing that Pei Du is seriously injured, why didn’t you flip through it!? Is that difficult?!”

Sheng Yiguang’s voice was very cold, like he was interrogating him.

Wen Heng lowered his head, like a child who had done something wrong.

    “It was my negligence.”

“This isn’t negligence, it’s that you don’t care about him! Why? Didn’t you say you liked him?”

    Wasn’t he his official pairing?

Wasn’t he a match made in heaven, the best marriage that this world had arranged for him?

    Why was he so negligent?

Wen Heng: “Pei-ge is allergic to yams, I haven’t seen him eat it, so I didn’t pay attention for a moment. Why are you questioning me, doubting my feelings for Pei-ge?”

“Okay, then answer me, what does Pei Du love to eat? What kind of drinks does he like to drink? What books does he like to read? What movies does he like? Who are his favorite stars?”

    Sheng Yiguang stepped closer.

“What shoe size does he wear? What style of accessories does he like? What is his zodiac sign? And what day is his birthday?”

The helplessness on Wen Heng’s face slowly turned into coldness, as if his mask had been torn off, revealing his original face.

    He didn’t answer.

He couldn’t answer any of them.

Sheng Yiguang’s heart ached fiercely, his eyes turning red.

He bit his lip tightly, refusing to shed tears in front of Wen Heng, enduring it so much that his whole body was shaking.

He wanted Pei Du to get the best arrangement, that’s why he let Pei Du go!

But what the fuck was this trash!

He knew everything! He remembered everything! Why couldn’t he be the official pairing!

He would definitely do better than others!

Wen Heng said coldly, “Have you finished? If you’re finished, it’s my turn, right? I have shortcomings, but that’s because I just started liking him.”

    “You’re talking bullshit.”

Wen Heng sneered, “Whether you believe it or not, you abandoned him, and more than once, it can’t be you no matter what.”

    “You’re not worthy.”

“I’ll be worthy in the future.”

Wen Heng smiled provocatively and left.

Only Sheng Yiguang was left in the empty corridor.

    Tears fell without restraint.

    He slowly walked back.

In the heavy, hazy water, he saw a figure distorted by the water running over.

    It was Pei Du.

“Bb, what’s wrong? Who made you unhappy? Don’t cry, I’ll teach him a lesson for you.”

Pei Du cupped Sheng Yiguang’s face and gently wiped away his tears.

The way Sheng Yiguang was crying was breaking his heart.

    Pei Du realized something, annoyed.

“Is it because of me? I was pretending, it’s not that serious, just a small cut, it’s already healed.”

“Sorry, bb, I shouldn’t have scared you.”

Sheng Yiguang pursed his lips, angry for a moment, but still honestly said.

    “It’s not you.”

The tears slowly stopped, and Sheng Yiguang calmed down.

The plot has never gone wrong, why is there such a big discrepancy with Wen Heng?

Was this designed because the world line knows that he loves Pei Du to the extreme, and can’t accept Pei Du’s future lover neglecting him, thereby, forcing him into the plot of a blackened white moonlight?

    Then he can only say.

    It succeeded.

He can leave Pei Du, he can not think about him, he can ignore him, but if Pei Du is not doing well, all his rationality and resistance will collapse in an instant.

Sheng Yiguang slowly raised his eyes, looking into Pei Du’s anxious eyes.

    “I want to pursue you.”

    To fight, to grab.

If I snatch you, I’m lucky.

If I don’t get you, it’s my fate.
