Chapter 49: Not One to Suffer Losses

    Pei Du ignored him.

Wen Heng knew it was because Sheng Yiguang had told Pei Du not to pay him any attention.

    But he wouldn’t give up.

He had a system, a golden finger, and he’d invested so much energy and time. There was no way he would give up on Pei Du just like that!

Give up on the Pei family’s money!

“This matter is no small deal. I don’t think relying solely on a mental evaluation can turn the tide. My livestream also has some heat, how about I help you clarify things?”

“Moreover, I can also ask my friends in the industry for help and get you some more business. We can get through this together!”

Pei Du didn’t look at him, and asked Sheng Yiguang, “Can I talk to him?”

    Sheng Yiguang frowned, unwilling.

Pei Du explained, “You know I don’t like to suffer losses. I don’t like what he’s saying. So I want to say some things he doesn’t like to hear, let him listen.”

    Wen Heng was stunned.

    Chinese?!

    Sheng Yiguang smiled and nodded.

    That was acceptable.

Du Chao stepped forward, “Pei-ge, Xiao Wen is just concerned about you. What did he say wrong that made you unhappy?”

Pei Du looked at Du Chao, “What’s it to you?”

    Du Chao: “…”

Pei Du then looked at Wen Heng, sizing him up.

Pei Du: “If you genuinely want to help, you can clarify things directly in your livestream. Asking for my opinion here, is that helping or asking me for benefits? Either way, I’ll be blunt, I don’t care about the traffic from your livestream.”

Pei Du: “You have no ability, no looks. You stretch your hand out in your livestream to ask some young masters and misses for money, and you have the audacity to say you want to get me business. People throw you a couple of bucks, and you really think you’re something special?”

    Wen Heng’s face paled.

Sheng Yiguang pursed his lips, secretly pleased.

Du Chao quickly stepped forward, pulling Wen Heng behind him.

“Pei-ge, how can you say that to Xiao Wen?!”

Old Man Pei, having recovered, spoke, “Pei Du, Xiao Wen is helping you out of goodwill. Xiao Wen got the news about this matter in advance and wanted to tell you, but was stopped by your secretary. He has been concerned about you, it’s too much to say that.”

Pei Du was devoid of emotion.

“Where did I say something wrong? Isn’t he just getting a little money from this family, a little money from that family? He’s not concerned about me, he’s concerned about the money in my pocket.”

Du Chao: “Pei-ge, Xiao Wen isn’t that kind of person.”

“Enough!” Wen Heng interrupted, secretly pinching his thigh, his eyes gradually reddening, “Since Pei-ge thinks of me this way, then I’ll leave! I won’t bother you anymore!”

Pei Du nodded, “That’s great, hurry up.”

Sheng Yiguang almost laughed out loud.

    Wen Heng choked.

The stage had already been set, he couldn’t not leave. He could only wipe his tears and leave quickly.

    Du Chao hurried after him.

The system was surprised, [You’re giving up on Pei Du?]

Wen Heng: “How is that possible? Didn’t you see Pei Du’s attitude towards me? It’s a tactical retreat. I can’t go into battle myself, I have to find someone to attack for me!”

Old Man Pei looked at Wen Heng’s back and took two steps to chase after him.

Pei Du’s voice was cold, “If you want to chase, then go.”

    Old Man Pei stopped.

Pei Du took Sheng Yiguang’s hand, “Your grandson’s wife is here, good-looking, with a good personality, and smart too. If you can’t accept it now, then spend more time convincing yourself and accept it sooner.”

Sheng Yiguang looked at Old Man Pei a little nervously.

Although Pei Du’s words were rough, the logic was sound.

But the words were too rough.

He wanted to persuade Pei Du to be more polite to the old man.

He was afraid that the old man would faint from anger at his age.

Old Man Pei said dryly, “I didn’t say I couldn’t accept it. I have always respected your choices. I’m just here to see you today.”

As he was speaking, the doctor came out with the evaluation report.

“Mr. Pei, your evaluation report, there’s no problem, all indicators are normal.”

    Pei Du took it.

Old Man Pei was overjoyed to hear that.

    Everything was normal?

When did his grandson get better?

He stepped forward to take the report to read, but Pei Du gave it to Sheng Yiguang without even looking at it himself.

Old Man Pei awkwardly withdrew his outstretched hand.

Sheng Yiguang took the report and read it carefully word by word.

Even if some of the words were scribbled and impossible to recognize, he read them carefully.

    Making Pei Du’s heart soften.

    Wanting to kiss him.

“How is it, I didn’t lie to you, it’s not serious.”

A smile appeared on Sheng Yiguang’s face, and the big stone in his heart was completely put down. He handed the evaluation report to Old Man Pei, who had been waiting for it for so long.

Old Man Pei took it, still glaring at Pei Du in dissatisfaction.

Sheng Yiguang was more considerate than his own grandson!

After reading the report, Old Man Pei’s face showed joy, “I really didn’t expect, you…”

    Pei Du glanced over.

Old Man Pei, being the shrewd person he was, instantly understood that Sheng Yiguang knew that Pei Du was sick, but didn’t know much about it. Pei Du must have downplayed the symptoms, so he stopped himself.

    Sheng Yiguang was puzzled.

Old Man Pei stiffly continued, “Your mental state is better than mine!”

Pei Du snatched the report back, “That’s natural.”

    “…”

Old Man Pei: “Then you’re going back to the company?”

Pei Du: “Not going back, I still have things to do. You go back first.”

    “…”

Old Man Pei felt that his trip was a bit superfluous.

But thinking that he had at least seen with his own eyes that his grandson was okay, he felt a lot more at ease.

Pei Du put away the evaluation report and took Sheng Yiguang to transfer the property.

The car stopped, but it wasn’t at the real estate bureau, but at Pei Du’s company.

    “Doing it here?”

“The documents were brought here, you just need to sign.”

    That sounded simple.

But when Sheng Yiguang saw the desk full of documents waiting to be signed, he was dumbfounded.

A cursory glance at the covers of a few documents revealed properties, shops, equity, and other assets.

Pei Du: “These are all the assets under my name, transfer them all to you, come over and sign.”

Sheng Yiguang was shocked, “I can’t take so much money from you.”

“Why can’t you? Your salary card will be given to you in the future, what’s this?”

Pei Du used a little force in his hand, pulling the person over.

Sheng Yiguang still shook his head.

    This was too much!

He couldn’t even imagine how much money was here!

He felt like it was burning his hands.

“Then let’s talk about it after we get married.”

Pei Du smiled, “Are you urging me to marry you?”

    “No.”

Pei Du put the pen in his hand, “Just treat it as a transfer of assets, keep an eye on it for me. In case I don’t win, we’ll rely on these to live.”

Hearing him say this, Sheng Yiguang agreed to sign.

He signed each stroke very carefully, and also confirmed with the witnessing lawyer next to him that everything was correct.

Pei Du gave all of this to Sheng Yiguang, just wanting to give him good things.

But Sheng Yiguang didn’t want money, but was willing to take his back and become his backer.

This made Pei Du’s heart soften completely.

He reached out and touched Sheng Yiguang’s face.

Sheng Yiguang dodged and reminded softly.

    “Someone’s here.”

Pei Du smiled, “I’m not going to do anything.”

Sheng Yiguang didn’t believe it, and quickened his pace to sign the contract. He handed the contract to the lawyer. After the lawyer confirmed that everything was correct, he left with the documents.

The lawyer had just stepped out the door.

Pei Du knelt on the sofa and kissed Sheng Yiguang’s face.

Sheng Yiguang was afraid that the person hadn’t left and nervously looked towards the door, but Pei Du pinched his chin and turned his face back.

He wasn’t allowed to think about anything but kissing him.

Pei Du: “What are the comments saying now?”

    Sheng Yiguang glanced at it.

[Xiao Wen must be so sad!]

[Damn! Open the crematorium storyline for me! Let Pei Du chase after his wife fiercely!]

[Damn it, it’s this Bai Yueguang (white moonlight) who’s meddling, otherwise how could my dear little couple turn out like this!]

Sheng Yiguang relayed the core ideas.

Pei Du was slightly taken aback.

The comments didn’t mention his illness?

Sheng Yiguang saw him frowning and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Pei Du said impatiently, “I don’t understand, are they blind? We’re already together, why aren’t they shipping you and me?”

Pei Du: “Don’t they say you need to ship everything to have a balanced diet?”

Sheng Yiguang didn’t understand, he didn’t ship CP (couple pairings).

Pei Du: “Isn’t there anyone who ships you and me?”

    Sheng Yiguang shook his head.

    No.

Pei Du frowned even deeper, “People ship Lin Daiyu and Voldemort, and we’ve already kissed, and rolled in bed, from youthful ignorance to forced breakup, and then reconciliation. There are so many labels, and no one ships it?”

Pei Du: “This comment section can’t be fake, deliberately targeting us, right?”
