    Chapter 56: Broken Promises

Pei Du had someone placed in the company to help take care of Sheng Yiguang, and as soon as they heard any news, they told Pei Du.

Pei Du immediately pulled up the surveillance footage, his gaze lingering on Yin Xue for a long time, then instructed his secretary to find out who she was and to have someone else keep an eye on her.

Sheng Yiguang finished work and returned home, surprised to see Pei Du there.

    “Aren’t you busy today?”

“I pushed back two meetings to come back.”

Sheng Tong ran up to Sheng Yiguang, showing him the new toy that Pei Du had brought back.

Pei Du stepped forward, shooed Sheng Tong into his room to play with the toy, approached Sheng Yiguang, and asked in a low voice,

“Come back to the room with me?”

Sheng Yiguang’s face flushed, and he stammered, “I’m a little hungry. I won’t last long without eating.”

Pei Du raised his eyebrows, drawling an “Oh,” and grabbed his hand, smiling wickedly.

“What if I want it now?”

Sheng Yiguang maintained a calm facade, his tone sounding normal, but his ears turned red.

“You’ve been busy lately, and we haven’t done it, so I understand you’re eager. We can do it once first.”

He changed his mind halfway through his sentence.

    “Twice.”

Pei Du was getting turned on by him, especially wanting to drag Sheng Yiguang into bed and pamper him thoroughly. He secretly regretted teasing him, knowing that he would be the one suffering in the end.

Pei Du took a deep breath, suppressing the rising fire, and his voice became serious.

“Alright, I won’t tease you anymore. I have something to ask you.”

    Sheng Yiguang: ?

Pei Du: “Your mother came to find you?”

    Sheng Yiguang nodded.

Pei Du: “Why didn’t you tell me?”

Sheng Yiguang: “We only met once, and after that, she looked for me but I ignored her, so I didn’t plan to bother you with it.”

“Bother me? Bb, we clearly agreed to face this world together. There are almost piles of people saying bad things about you at the company, and you don’t tell me? What’s that about? You’re breaking your promise.”

A huge accusation landed on him, and Sheng Yiguang was dumbfounded.

    Bad things?

    What bad things?

Pei Du narrowed his eyes slightly, “You don’t know?”

    Sheng Yiguang really didn’t know.

“I only know that she’s been coming to bring me food lately, but I haven’t seen her. Who’s saying bad things about me?”

Pei Du: “Didn’t the comments tell you?”

Sheng Yiguang shook his head, “The comments only ship you and Wen Heng, and there’s not much useful information. I don’t really look at them anymore.”

Pei Du guessed that those gossiping behind his back in the company hadn’t dared to do it in front of him.

“What did your mother want from you?”

“She wants me to provide for her in her old age.”

    Pei Du scoffed, “She’s dreaming.”

Sheng Yiguang didn’t care about Yin Xue and pressed him, “Who at the company is saying bad things about me?”

    Pei Du was concise, “Idiots.”

    Sheng Yiguang: “…”

Sheng Yiguang explained, “I’ve been busy with a project collaboration lately, so I haven’t been paying attention to other things at the company.”

Pei Du: “Okay, don’t worry about it. I’ll handle it. You don’t need to worry about it. If you don’t want to see her, I’ll send her away. I won’t let her bother you.”

Sheng Yiguang: “I can handle it. You be busy with your things.”

Pei Du raised his eyebrows, disagreeing, “You’re helping me hold shares, so I can’t help you chase people away?”

    This wasn’t the same.

He was helping Pei Du hold shares, which was basically helping him hide a large sum of money. If he wanted to, he could have pocketed those shares.

There were only benefits and no drawbacks.

Pei Du helping him had no benefits.

But Pei Du insisted, “Bb, can’t I interfere in your affairs?”

    “You can.”

“Can I manage my wife’s affairs?”

Sheng Yiguang’s ears warmed at the term “wife,” and he felt a little embarrassed, but he didn’t refute it.

    “You can too.”

The corners of Pei Du’s mouth turned up. Even though he had already received a satisfactory answer, he still asked cheekily.

    “So, I’m managing it?”

    Sheng Yiguang nodded.

Pei Du: “Next time, tell your partner everything, okay?”

    Sheng Yiguang nodded again.

Pei Du was satisfied and pulled him onto his lap.

“Now, tell me carefully, what did she do when she found you?”

Sheng Yiguang started from the moment he suddenly saw Yin Xue, not leaving out any details.

After listening, Pei Du asked, “You won’t mind if I scold her, right?”

Sheng Yiguang shook his head, “I won’t.”

    Pei Du was relieved.

The next day at noon, Pei Du took time out to go directly to XSB.

As soon as he entered the company, he saw Yin Xue chatting with the receptionist.

Yin Xue didn’t see Pei Du, but the receptionist did, her face changing slightly. She quickly went to call and notify the company that the big boss had arrived.

Pei Du didn’t stop her and walked straight to Yin Xue.

Yin Xue only felt a figure looming over her. She turned her head and saw a tall, handsome young man with cold and aloof eyes. She was taken aback for a moment and spoke.

“Young man, do you work here?”

    Pei Du nodded.

Yin Xue was overjoyed and asked, “Then do you know my son, Sheng Yiguang?”

    “I know him.”

Yin Xue immediately began to sell her misery, “Then can you help me call him out? He always refuses to see me.”

A hint of ferocity flashed in Pei Du’s eyes, and he chuckled coldly.

“If he refuses to see you, shouldn’t you also look for the reason within yourself?”

“Like how you didn’t want him when he was very young, and you haven’t seen him for so many years, haven’t given him a penny of child support, and gave him a child with a heart disease that you had with a wild man, causing him to drag a child around right after graduation, trying to save money to treat the child’s illness, and still not being married by now.”

In a few words, Pei Du ruthlessly exposed Yin Xue’s past.

Yin Xue’s face turned white inch by inch.

The receptionist stopped dialing, looking at Yin Xue in shock, not expecting that this mother who was not welcome by her child was actually reaping what she sowed!

Pei Du stared at the thermos in Yin Xue’s hand and asked, “What did you bring?”

Yin Xue gripped the thermos tightly, feeling guilty, “Food.”

“Let me see what good food it is.”

Yin Xue didn’t give it to him.

Pei Du’s tone was calm, coldly exposing her, “You won’t give it to me? Is there any food inside?”

Yin Xue, having been exposed, immediately jumped up, “You’re talking nonsense!”

“I’m talking nonsense? Then show it to me.”

Yin Xue didn’t give it to him.

Pei Du was amused by her. She came here to sell her misery but didn’t even want to spend money on a meal, just wanting to fleece his bb?

“Running here with a broken thermos to sling mud, Auntie, how thick is your skin? Are you treating this place as a mission checkpoint or a begging site? Do you want me to set up a stage for you and provide a loudspeaker so you can act enough?”

Yin Xue didn’t expect that a handsome young man who looked decent would open his mouth and speak like a machine gun, firing rapidly at her.

    She was trembling with anger.

“I’m looking for my son. What’s it to you?!”

“This is my company. The person you’re looking for is my subordinate. It’s affecting my employees, and the decrease in work efficiency is affecting my profits.”

    Yin Xue was stunned.

    The boss?

    So young?

“Most importantly…” Pei Du’s tone was leisurely, and he had an arrogant look on his face, “I feel unhappy seeing someone with thick skin. Do you think it’s anything to do with me?”

Yin Xue was so angry that she broke down, “How can you talk to me like this?!”

Pei Du sneered, “You, either get out of here now, or I’ll call the police and have you kicked out. If you dare to bark here again and affect my company’s normal operation, I’ll make sure you can’t survive in Lingang.”
