    Chapter 6: Jealousy

The originally barely lively atmosphere turned stagnant after the introductions.

Pei Du said, “I have to drive.” There wasn’t even alcohol on the table, just juice.

The General Manager knew Pei Du’s identity; a hundred companies like theirs combined might not even be worthy of saying a word in front of him.

Therefore, he racked his brains all evening to chat with Pei Du.

The manager noticed Pei Du’s gaze sweeping over Sheng Yiguang twice, seemingly unintentionally, so he frequently cued Sheng Yiguang, encouraging him to say a few more words to Pei Du.

However, because of their past, Sheng Yiguang didn’t dare to say much to Pei Du at all.

    They talked about tourist cities.

    Sheng Yiguang: “Never been there.”

    They talked about food.

Sheng Yiguang: “I’ll definitely try it if I have the chance.”

    They talked about hobbies.

Sheng Yiguang: “I’m more interested in making money.”

Pei Du chuckled, his voice turning cold, sounding a bit provocative.

    “I can see that.”

    Sheng Yiguang: “…”

Great, he made him angry again.

    The atmosphere became very strange.

The General Manager quickly pulled the topic back from the dangerous edge, no longer dragging Sheng Yiguang into the conversation, and started to cue others at the table.

Sheng Yiguang secretly breathed a sigh of relief. He turned his head slightly, accidentally meeting Pei Du’s gaze, and they quickly looked away from each other, as if nothing had happened, acting unfamiliar and distant.

Sun Mo nudged Sheng Yiguang, leaned closer, and lowered his voice.

    “You know him?”

    “Yeah.”

“Looks like there’s another reason you were able to stay. If I become rich, don’t forget me.”

Sheng Yiguang thought: Just don’t get implicated by me.

Before long, the colleagues in the design department were already quietly praising Pei Du, praising his demeanor, his youthfulness, and his conformity to their image of a CEO.

Sheng Yiguang was concerned about Sheng Tong at home, felt like he was in a different world from them, and frequently checked the time.

Pei Du suddenly said, “Let’s end it here. It’s too late, it’s inconvenient for you to get back.”

The General Manager was still not satisfied, wanting to chat with Pei Du a little more to build a good relationship, but hearing him say this, he could only smile obsequiously, “General Manager Pei is truly considerate of his subordinates.”

After the dinner party broke up, the General Manager scurried to see Pei Du into the car.

Sheng Yiguang didn’t step forward, moving further and further away, watching the crowd cluster around Pei Du as he got into the car.

Sun Mo stood next to Sheng Yiguang, finding it stranger and stranger.

He originally thought Sheng Yiguang was avoiding suspicion by not revealing that he knew the big boss.

Now it seemed like he was avoiding the big boss.

    This was a bit subtle.

    “What’s your relationship with him?”

Sheng Yiguang was worried that Sun Mo would one day try to use his relationship with Pei Du to curry favor, so he confessed.

    “Ex-boyfriend.”

Sun Mo said “I’ll be damned” several times to express his shock.

    His mind worked quickly.

“Then his acquisition wasn’t for you, was it?”

“No, our breakup was very ugly.”

“Then he kept you to torture you?”

“Maybe. I was looking at new jobs this afternoon.” Hopefully, he could seamlessly transition to a new company.

“Damn, he looks like a decent person, but he’s really a scumbag!”

Sheng Yiguang pursed his lips, “I said it was possible.”

Sun Mo heard the protectiveness behind those words and gave him an unfathomable look, accompanying him into the bakery next door to buy a small cake for Sheng Tong.

“I’ve never heard you mention an ex-boyfriend. He looks very rich. How did you meet?”

“We met when we were in school.”

    “That must have been unforgettable.”

Sun Mo’s sentimental words pulled Sheng Yiguang into his memories.

Sheng Yiguang and Pei Du’s first meeting was nothing special.

School started, classes were assigned, they were desk-mates.

Physical proximity naturally leads to closer relationships.

They went from being back-to-back desk-mates to being desk-mates side-by-side.

Pei Du would poke his back with a pen to borrow things, would sprint through the rain, squeeze under his umbrella, and say with a smile, “Squeeze in a little.”, would conveniently appear beside him to take away the heavy homework in his hand, following beside him casually, would bump his shoulder during the morning meeting to give him the shade of the tree above his head.

He would hold a ball and follow behind him, walking past one street lamp after another, and slowly close the distance, walking beside him.

Pei Du stepped on his shadow.

    He entered Pei Du’s heart.

After buying the cake, Sheng Yiguang and Sun Mo took taxis home separately.

From a distance, Sheng Yiguang saw Teacher Zhou leading Sheng Tong standing at the entrance of the building.

Sheng Tong waved his hands, “Sheng Yiguang!”

Sheng Yiguang walked over quickly, “Why are you downstairs? Isn’t it cold?”

Zhou Zibai wore a smile on his face, the smile as gentle as a spring breeze in the winter wind.

“Knowing you were coming back, the child wanted to wait for you. Don’t worry, we just came down a little while ago, timed it just right. Now that you’re back, I’ll go back first.”

As Zhou Zibai spoke, he took out his car key and pressed it.

The car parked on the side was awakened, and the headlights flashed twice.

    “Teacher Zhou.”

    Zhou Zibai turned his head.

Sheng Yiguang raised the cake in his hand, “Do you mind eating sweets at night? How about we eat together? Tongtong and I can’t finish it.”

Sheng Yiguang didn’t mean anything else, he just didn’t think it was good to use him and then kick him aside. He should at least thank him properly.

A smile appeared on Zhou Zibai’s face.

    “Okay.”

He turned around and walked towards Sheng Yiguang.

A dozen meters away, a luxury car was parked there.

After leaving the barbecue restaurant, Pei Du made a U-turn at the first intersection, followed Sheng Yiguang, and saw the little brat who was rumored to look five parts like him from a distance.

There was also a man next to the brat.

Although he didn’t want to admit it, the other man had some good looks.

At the barbecue restaurant, Pei Du noticed that Sheng Yiguang had been looking at his phone, guessing he was worried about the child at home, so he took it upon himself to end the dinner party. Was this what he came back to see?

The three people standing together looked just like a family of three.

The harmonious and beautiful scene made him feel annoyed, wanting to press a button to eliminate it all, to get rid of everything that was an eyesore.

    Who was that man?

    Sheng Yiguang’s next target?

He also accepted that Sheng Yiguang had a child with another woman?

    How far along were they?

Did that man know about his existence?

Did he know that he was Sheng Yiguang’s first love, first kiss, first intimate partner?

Did he know how obedient Sheng Yiguang was in his arms, how sincere he was when calling him “husband,” how adamant he was when he said he only loved him?

Did he know that Sheng Yiguang’s first time was helped by him, his first orgasm was given by him, they ruined a dozen bedsheets and several boxes of condoms together, and every planned trip ended up being a survey of hotels in various places, unable to even step out of the room, from the bed to the windowsill to the bathroom to the living room!

Sheng Yiguang was drunk last week, but he wasn’t!

Sheng Yiguang hugged him and called him “husband,” refusing to use any faceless positions, obsessively clinging to him and kissing him, tears falling on his shoulder, saying he missed him.

He slept with him, ran away, and refused to acknowledge it.

    Pei Du endured it.

Having a dead brat with someone else.

    Pei Du also endured it.

    But what about now!!!

The General Manager of the company showed special care for Sheng Yiguang.

When he came home, there was also a gentle and virtuous man waiting for him!

According to the current situation, he, Pei Du, wouldn’t even get a chance at a third marriage!

Pei Du was mad with jealousy, gripping the steering wheel so tightly that his knuckles turned white, his dark and deep eyes staring fixedly at the three figures disappearing into the building, his expression frighteningly calm.

When they were no longer visible, he suddenly smiled.

He stepped on the accelerator and crashed hard into the car whose headlights had just flashed a few times!
