AM Chapter 48
by BLReads48 Cold War
Ever since that night when Chen Mo and a tipsy Liang Jingren rekindled their intimacy, they added a new, sweat-inducing activity to their bedtime routine.
Originally, Chen Mo was only allowed by Liang Jingren to be in bed as a “study buddy,” but he wasn’t well-behaved and always squirmed and rubbed around. It just so happened that the weather had been dry recently, making it easy for a spark to ignite a fire. So, for several nights in a row, Chen Mo entered the room as a study buddy and ended up falling asleep as a bed warmer.
By Saturday, they both slept in until they naturally woke up.
When Chen Mo woke up, Liang Jingren was already sitting in bed looking at his phone. But he wasn’t dressed yet, so Chen Mo guessed he hadn’t been awake for long.
Seeing Chen Mo staring at him after he sat up, Liang Jingren glanced at him and opened his mouth to say, “Awake?”
Receiving Liang Jingren’s “initiative to say good morning,” Chen Mo immediately smiled and replied in a voice that was still groggy from sleep, “Good morning, Brother Ren~”
As soon as he finished speaking, two mischievous hands began to greet the unclothed body beside him under the covers.
Liang Jingren immediately put down his phone and turned to face him openly.
Chen Mo thought he was going to be scolded, so he pursed his lips, and the eardrums in both ears twitched sensitively.
“Want to do it?” Liang Jingren asked instead.
Chen Mo was stunned for a moment, then nodded obediently.
Then, Liang Jingren pushed him down.
On Saturday, the two of them started making love in the morning and continued until the sun went down in the afternoon, the setting sun painting the entire room red.
For half the time, Chen Mo was pinned down by Liang Jingren and couldn’t escape.
Chen Mo felt like he had had a dream like this before, although Liang Jingren’s face wasn’t very clear in the dream, at least his back wouldn’t hurt so much.
They ordered takeout for dinner. After eating, Liang Jingren went to the garage to wash his motorcycle.
Chen Mo followed him to watch and asked him why he was wiping his motorcycle so late at night.
Liang Jingren squatted beside the bucket, wringing out a towel as he said, “I’m taking my little darling out for a spin tomorrow.”
“Me?” Chen Mo put his hands behind his back, leaning against the blue motorcycle that Liang Jingren was about to wipe with a grin.
“Not you, the bike.” Liang Jingren raised his chin towards the side of him.
Chen Mo pouted unhappily and asked, “What about me?”
Liang Jingren looked at him and said, “You can come too.”
Chen Mo immediately became happy again, leaned over and kissed Liang Jingren’s cheek, and said, “Let me help!”
“You’d be a big help if you didn’t get in the way,” Liang Jingren said helplessly.
Early Sunday morning, Chen Mo prepared sandwiches and packed them in the backpack he usually used for his laptop. He told Liang Jingren to put on his wild military-green windbreaker jacket, and the two of them put on helmets and rode out on a blue-striped motorcycle that was eye-catching but not overly flashy on the road.
They went to a section of road they used to frequent where there were few vehicles—this section of road occasionally had novice drivers practicing, and those cars didn’t drive fast, and the turn signals were always very standard.
Liang Jingren, as an experienced driver, drove the motorcycle at lightning speed on the familiar road. Chen Mo sat on the back of his bike, chattering and laughing, occasionally urging him, “Faster! Faster!”
Liang Jingren twisted the throttle, his body leaning forward, and in less than half a second, the motorcycle accelerated exponentially.
They ate the sandwiches for lunch under a speed limit sign. Chen Mo looked up and saw that he hadn’t even seen this signpost four years ago.
While eating a sandwich, he asked Liang Jingren, “Brother Ren, did we just speed?”
Liang Jingren pursed his lips and looked at him quietly.
Chen Mo swallowed a bite of sandwich, and his throat suddenly felt dry and hoarse. “Don’t tell me…”
Liang Jingren reached out his hand that wasn’t holding the sandwich and punched him.
“It’s all your fault! What are you shouting for! What are you urging for! What’s with the fast! What’s with the annoyance!…”
Liang Jingren punched him every time he said a sentence.
–But it didn’t really hurt.
So, they didn’t actually speed. Liang Jingren was doing it on purpose.
Looking back, sure enough, Liang Jingren, who kept punching him, was smiling wantonly.
The feeling of guilt disappeared in an instant. Chen Mo still pretended to be in pain, dodging each punch, “Brother Ren, spare me! Spare me!” He was eventually poked until he ran into the road, and without paying attention, the sausage from the sandwich he hadn’t finished eating fell.
Chen Mo stopped dodging and squatted down, regretting the sausage he had only taken one bite of.
Liang Jingren finished laughing, walked over, and squatted down to pat his shoulder. “Don’t squat here. Be careful a car comes later.”
After saying that, without giving him a chance to react, Liang Jingren grabbed his arm and pulled him up, then dragged him to the side of the road.
As they were about to return to the motorcycle, Liang Jingren suddenly turned his head and frowned slightly at the half sausage in the middle of the road.
Chen Mo immediately knew what he was concerned about. As he walked forward quickly, he took his hand and said with a smile, “It’s okay, the ants will carry it away! Their high priest will also lead three thousand little brothers to perform a ritual to thank nature for its gift!”
His words successfully amused Liang Jingren, and Liang Jingren didn’t frown. He “poofed” and laughed again, “Hahahaha, what a silly thing…”
This weekend was so fulfilling and happy. At night, Chen Mo lay beside Liang Jingren, gently bringing his head close to the person beside him who had fallen asleep early due to fatigue, his breathing steady. He felt that his life had reached its peak at this moment.
Looking at Liang Jingren’s quiet, closed-eyed profile, Chen Mo suddenly understood his birth mother.
He thought: If Liang Jingren were to die like this, he would definitely go with him without hesitation.
He couldn’t imagine how he could live without Liang Jingren. He couldn’t even understand how he could have been so cruel as to “abandon” Liang Jingren and run abroad to live with a stupid roommate for four years who was good for nothing except cooking.
However, just as Chen Mo’s happiness reached its peak, it was about to be reduced by ten and then discounted again –
Bad news came from work on Monday: a female colleague in their group had been diagnosed with pregnancy and was going on maternity leave. Her work would be spread out over them for the next one to two weeks.
Even though the boss laughed and promised them that the female colleague would give everyone red envelopes when she returned, Chen Mo still cursed her thousands of times in his heart.
Because of the increase in work, he couldn’t avoid overtime, so he couldn’t keep his promise to Liang Jingren to go home early to cook and have dinner together.
At bedtime that night, he squeezed into Liang Jingren’s arms, who was holding a book, feeling dejected. He complained in a rambling manner: “This is maternity leave, and then she’s going to have a baby, so is she even going to work anymore? She might as well quit…”
“Shut up, you’re so noisy.” Liang Jingren coldly and ruthlessly raised his arm, turned his back to him, and continued reading.
Liang Jingren actually ignored him and went to read that broken book that he had already finished reading. He even told him spoilers about the plot, but he wouldn’t listen, hmph. Chen Mo pouted in anger.
He stared at a section of Liang Jingren’s neck behind the collar of his pajamas, an idea forming in his mind, one filled with lust.
Chen Mo licked his lips, lowered his body, and gently bit him.
Liang Jingren’s hand, which was turning the pages of the book, “swished” away from the book. He reached back and covered Chen Mo’s head from top to bottom, firmly controlling it with his fingers like a basketball.
That wasn’t the most disconcerting thing. Just as Chen Mo was thinking of grabbing Liang Jingren’s hand to pull it down and lick it, Liang Jingren suddenly glanced back coldly and said:
“Chen Mo, let’s abstain for a while.”
“…”
“Let’s not do it.”
Finally, Chen Mo reacted. “Ah?????” His eyes widened, and he said in disbelief, “Why?!”
Liang Jingren tilted his chin slightly and pondered for a while, then turned his head and said to him seriously, “For your health.”
Chen Mo was silent.
Five minutes later, Liang Jingren put down the book on the bedside table, set his phone alarm, and prepared to turn off the lights and go to sleep.
At this time, Chen Mo suddenly pounced on him, his two hands accurately grabbing Liang Jingren’s wrists and pinning him down on the pillow. Then, looking down at the beloved person with a slightly furrowed brow, who instead had a unique charm, he smiled wantonly and said, “Brother Ren definitely wants to do it. It was like this before. You clearly said to just lie down and sleep, but as soon as I seduce you, you immediately agreed.”
“Moreover… the body’s reaction is often the most honest.”
“Chen Mo, let go of me.”
“Doesn’t Brother Ren like it?” Chen Mo lowered his head, exhaling between Liang Jingren’s neck, “If you really don’t like it that much, then refuse properly~”
“I said let go of me.”
“I don’t want to~” Chen Mo acted shamelessly, “Brother Ren, don’t worry, I’ll make you comfortable~”
Having said that, he bit Liang Jingren’s Adam’s apple.
“Ugh–!! Cough cough! Cough cough!!”
Chen Mo was caught off guard and kicked hard to the end of the bed by Liang Jingren’s accumulated force. He covered the position of his heart and lungs and coughed several times in a row.
Chen Mo was angry. He hated this, he hated pain.
But he thought about it from another perspective and wondered: Did he just bite Liang Jingren too hard?
After a few deep breaths, Chen Mo recovered his composure and prepared to entangle with Liang Jingren again, but Liang Jingren actually put on his slippers and got out of bed.
Chen Mo noticed something was wrong and hesitantly called out, “Brother Ren?”
Liang Jingren picked up his phone with the alarm set, walked to the middle of the room, looked back at him, and said, “You shamelessly said before that you can’t sleep unless you’re on this bed. Fine, I’ll leave this bed for you tonight. You sleep by yourself.”
“…”
Watching Liang Jingren turn around and walk towards the door after speaking, Chen Mo finally woke up. He hurriedly rolled and crawled out of bed to chase after him, shouting words of weakness:
“Don’t! Brother Ren, I’m sorry! I was wrong! I won’t dare anymore! Forgive me! I’ll be good and listen to you! If you say no, then we won’t do it! Don’t go!”
Bang!
Chen Mo couldn’t catch up with Liang Jingren. The wooden door of the room slammed shut in front of him.
Starting the next day, the two seemed to fall into a cold war of unknown duration.
Chen Mo didn’t want to have a cold war with Liang Jingren, but his work and the work assigned by his boss that shouldn’t have been his in the first place filled his free time completely. He couldn’t even use his phone to slack off, let alone find a suitable time to call Liang Jingren and communicate properly.
Liang Jingren wanted to take a lunch break at noon. If he disturbed him, Liang Jingren would only get angrier. Chen Mo had to work overtime in the afternoon, and it was hard to say what time he could go back at night.
Liang Jingren directly sent him a message saying that he would eat at the company and then go home during this time, telling him not to foolishly buy a bunch of vegetables and wait for him to come back.
The saddest thing was that although he could freely enter and exit Liang Jingren’s room, Liang Jingren wouldn’t enter the room if he saw him there.
Even if the two met in the villa at night, Liang Jingren would automatically keep a distance from him.
Chen Mo was extremely annoyed and regretful.
By Friday night, perhaps considering that the weekend was coming and the two would still have to live together in the villa, inevitably seeing each other, and it wouldn’t be comfortable for both of them to be so stiff, Liang Jingren finally relented.
He took the initiative to greet Chen Mo and talk to him, and he also allowed Chen Mo, who was looking at him expectantly, to approach him.
That night, after Liang Jingren took a shower, he returned to his room. Chen Mo trotted over to arrange the position of the cushion for him, turned to the page of his hypnosis book in advance and put the book face down, then poured a glass of warm water to quench his thirst and soothe his throat on the bedside table, and carefully adjusted the brightness of the bedside lamp.
He thoughtfully prepared all of this, and his heart was looking forward to Liang Jingren praising him kindly, “You really are my darling,” or asking one more question, “What are you doing?” or even scolding him with a smile, “You’re so free, aren’t you?” Chen Mo could accept and be satisfied with anything.
However, Liang Jingren closed the door with his backhand, looked at the glass of water on the bedside table, then raised his eyes to look at him, and then asked him:
“Want to do it tonight?”
Chen Mo was stunned and asked, “Do what?”
Liang Jingren looked at him and said, “Make love.”
So, on Friday night, when the cold war and the abstinence order were lifted, the two overlapped and embraced, tearing and biting each other, fighting until dawn.
