ACIFITFDB – Chapter 29
by BLReadsChapter 29: Teacher, I Really Like You…
The students buzzed like a flock of chicks, immediately surrounding Qin Xian and bombarding him with questions.
Qin Xian was utterly helpless, fully experiencing the pain of being a teacher.
He held up his index finger to his lips, let out a “shush,” and then pointed towards the door.
“If you don’t want to attract more monsters up here, keep it down.”
The students of Municipal No. 1 High School were generally well-behaved. Upon hearing this, they immediately lowered their voices.
“Okay, okay… Teacher Qin, you’re so handsome, do you have a girlfriend?”
Qin Xian: “…”
Were these students’ true natures not yet suppressed because they had been confined for only two or three days?
Fortunately, a classmate beside her lightly slapped her hand. “Are you kidding me? Is this the time for that?”
Qin Xian breathed a sigh of relief and asked, “Can you tell me what happened to you these past three days?”
The classroom immediately began to chatter in hushed tones, which Qin Xian couldn’t hear clearly. However, from a slightly further back seat, a girl was earnestly raising her hand, waiting for Qin Xian to call on her.
Qin Xian immediately reached out to her. “Alright, please tell me, classmate. Everyone else, be quiet.”
The girl immediately stood up, her back ramrod straight, her high ponytail falling behind her.
She recounted the events in a fluent, concise, and clear manner.
“The night before last, after we finished washing up and returned for evening study, we found strange people had entered the classroom. At first, we didn’t pay much attention. After someone reported it to the teacher, everyone went back to their studies. But halfway through the evening study, no teacher came into the classroom. Since we usually had good discipline, no one found it too strange. Until the broadcast announced that everyone had to gather on the sports field. We arrived at the field, completely bewildered, only to find a group of strange masked individuals announcing that they had taken control of the school and we had to obey.”
“At first, we thought it was a terrorist attack. Some students even went up to argue and resist, but they were immediately met with a monster disguised as a security guard who broke their arms.”
She frowned, as if recalling these things caused her pain.
“That monster could even spit out tentacles… We had never seen anything like it, it was terrifying.”
As she spoke, she touched her face, on the verge of a breakdown.
Qin Xian’s voice was much softer than usual. “If it’s too difficult, you can rest for a while.”
“No.” The girl took a deep breath, her expression quickly calming. “Then they laid down a lot of absurd rules, such as changing our curriculum and requiring us to complete learning tasks according to the course requirements. For example, the one about… requiring us to have sexual relations with the opposite sex within three days.”
As soon as this was said, many students below made “yue” (vomit) gestures with their mouths. Some also whispered a few curses.
The girl’s clenched fists trembled. “Also, they demanded that we burn our textbooks, criticizing this knowledge as garbage… and demanded that we vandalize school facilities. At this point, some teachers rushed over from their dormitories. They charged forward. But those monsters… immediately tortured two teachers to the brink of death right in front of us. They demanded the teachers join them, and the vast majority of teachers immediately refused. After beating these teachers, they took them away. Our homeroom teacher was also taken, and hasn’t appeared yet.”
Tears welled up in the girl’s eyes, and others’ eyes were also red. The atmosphere in the classroom became extremely oppressive.
The girl continued with a choked sob, “And… and some students actually joined them voluntarily. Those monsters said that those who joined them could take the places of teachers and school leaders, could arbitrarily control others, even teachers, and could vandalize the campus at will.”
“Of course… those were only a very small number of people.” The girl’s eyes showed hatred. Compared to the monsters, she clearly hated these traitors even more.
“Damn it, Zhou Fantu from our class joined them. He even came to teach us ‘internet language art’ this morning… which is basically just online insults and violent language. If we didn’t listen, he would whip us and make us run twenty laps.”
“The one from the next class wouldn’t even let us eat or drink. How can they be so disgusting?! Are they even human?!”
The girl wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, bit her lip, and clenched her fist. She asked, “Teacher Qin, what exactly have we encountered? These things… are not scientific at all. Are there really monsters in our world?”
“I’ll explain it to you roughly. Be quiet.”
The surrounding students immediately focused, holding their breath. Even students from other classes in the hallway squeezed into the classroom, but everyone was very quiet.
Qin Xian’s voice was calm and gentle. “You can understand it this way: a monster from another world has invaded. They are born from human negative emotions and also like human negative emotions. The school is a good place; they want to plunge you into despair to become food or accomplices.”
“Then… then what should we do?”
“The police have now surrounded this place. Some brave police officers have already entered the school, and I am one of them. The monsters here will definitely be defeated, but if you are willing to pull yourselves together, the nightmare will end even faster.”
“How do we do it? As long as I can leave here and go home quickly, I’ll do anything!”
“Don’t be afraid, don’t believe them, maintain a positive mindset. The monsters are more interested in using you, so they won’t kill you easily. But you also have to pretend to obey them and protect yourselves. If possible, spread what I’ve said to more classmates without being discovered. You don’t need to do anything else, try not to conflict with the enemy, please remember to protect yourselves. This will be of great help to us.”
The students looked at each other. The anxiety and nascent despair they felt were significantly reduced.
The girl who had raised her hand earlier was the first to respond. “Okay, we understand. We will definitely stick to our principles and believe in the police. We will definitely get out of here alive!”
This girl was clearly an excellent student in the class. Not only was her mood stable, but she was also very proactive, retaining the unique enthusiasm of adolescence.
“What’s your name?” Qin Xian asked.
The girl replied, “Teacher Qin, my name is Xu Zimo!”
Qin Xian reached out and patted her shoulder. “Keep it up, you can do it.”
Xu Zimo nodded heavily. Her previously red eyes had now returned to normal, her large eyes shining.
“Hey! What are you guys doing!? Running into another class, violating discipline! Class 2211, everyone go to the sports field for fifteen laps!”
A scolding voice came from the doorway. The students of Class 2211 turned to see who had arrived, their expressions filled with disgust.
Qin Xian also looked over. He saw four people who were clearly students standing at the doorway. However, they were not wearing school uniforms. Some of them were dressed exceptionally exaggeratedly, wearing ripped jeans, earrings, and dyed hair.
“Who are you?” Qin Xian asked.
A short, chubby young boy put his hands on his hips and replied, “Us? We’re from the Student Council! You’ve violated discipline, and I have the right to punish you!”
Qin Xian smiled. “Student Council? You don’t look like it.”
These kids were probably the ones Xu Zimo and the others mentioned, who had sided with the enemy.
However, it seemed that these children were mostly problematic students who had seized power opportunistically and were now bullying their classmates. From their appearance, they had not been completely corrupted and led astray by the domain. Their methods of punishment were still relatively minor.
Qin Xian said to them, “I called the students of Class 2211 over. The teacher of their class and I are cooperating for a joint class. Is that a problem?”
As he spoke, he pointed at the fat pig man still lying on the ground, unconscious.
The little chubby boy from the Student Council was startled and blurted out, “What class are you teaching? Why are you hitting people!”
Qin Xian asked, “Am I a violent teacher? Is there something wrong with that?”
“V-violent…” the boy stammered.
Suddenly, a hand reached out from the side and pushed the short, chubby boy back. A tall figure stepped forward.
Qin Xian immediately frowned and observed carefully.
It was a boy who looked about eighteen years old, with good looks, but his features had a sinister aura, making him look unlike a well-behaved student. He had messy black hair, and his red earrings sparkled. Although he looked to be of similar age to the students, Qin Xian felt a strong sense of incongruity.
Moreover, this boy curled one side of his mouth into an unpleasant smile, his black pupils staring fixedly at Qin Xian, as if trying to stick to him, which made Qin Xian feel a little disgusted.
The surrounding Student Council members seemed to be both respectful and afraid of him. The boy who was pushed not only showed no resentment but also bowed respectfully and took two steps back.
Qin Xian proactively asked, “And who are you?”
“Me? I’m the Student Council President.” His tone was flippant, not at all like someone capable of such a position.
Qin Xian chuckled. “You look more like someone who’s often caught for violating discipline by the Student Council President.”
“Shut up! You’re not allowed to talk about our President like that!” A member beside him immediately pointed at Qin Xian’s nose and cursed. “Our President’s authority is far greater than yours, a mere teacher!”
“Oh.” Qin Xian shrugged indifferently and asked, “So, since I asked for a joint class, then they naturally haven’t violated discipline, right?”
“Sorry, Teacher Qin, you still violated discipline.” The President spoke first.
“If you want to conduct a joint class, you need to report it to the school in advance. Do you have that? If not, your punishment is the same as the students. You need to go downstairs and run fifteen laps with them.”
As he spoke, he walked directly towards Qin Xian. It was only when he got close that Qin Xian realized this eighteen-year-old boy was very tall, almost catching up to him.
The President leaned forward, his nose almost touching Qin Xian’s, and said flirtatiously, “However, I really like you. I won’t punish you and the students this time. But you have to come with me.”
As he spoke, he extended his finger, intending to hook Qin Xian’s collar.
Qin Xian directly slapped the back of his hand. The skin there visibly turned red.
The President clutched his throbbing hand and laughed, “Teacher, you’re so fierce, actually hitting a student. Aren’t you afraid I’ll report you to the Education Bureau?”
“What do you think I teach? If you come any closer, I’ll hit your face.” Qin Xian raised his fist.
The President stepped back two paces and asked, “So, will you all go run fifteen laps, or will you come with me? Choose one.”
Qin Xian snorted coldly, curious to see what this guy was up to. He replied, “Fine, I’ll go with you.”
“Teacher!” A student from the class immediately stood up but was stopped by Qin Xian raising his hand. He swept his gaze calmly over the entire class. Although he said nothing, his gaze was like magic, quieting the students.
“I’ll be back in a moment.” With that, he followed the Student Council President out of the classroom.
As soon as they stepped out of the classroom door, the break bell rang twice before being abruptly cut off. A chilling voice sounded from the broadcast: “Hello, students. The extended break activity has begun. This extended break activity is a deadly battle royale. The school will dispatch four monsters for a hunt. Please enjoy the extended break to the fullest!”
