Chapter 41: Coach, I Want to Learn This

With Qin Xian’s command, Xun Guangfan and several other police officers immediately changed their attitudes and rushed out. It was better to treat these students as criminal suspects and arrest them all than to talk to them nicely.

Although everyone had reverted to being 18 years old, the students were still no match for the police with combat experience, let alone Qin Xian. In less than half an hour, they were all brought to the first floor like chicks. Counting them, there were a total of 21 people, with more boys than girls.

Some were still defiant, while others were quite obedient, running over eagerly as soon as they heard Qin Xian had asked them to come. Leading them was the boy named Guo Jiarong, who had completely appointed himself as a follower and even argued with classmates who had opinions.

“Why should I listen to you, pretty boy!?”

“Pfft! That’s our boss. Believe it or not, he can punch your head off!”

    “Who believes that!”

“Hmph, then you haven’t seen the heroic sight of our boss punching a cabinet away and ripping off a security door with a pull.”

“Holy hell, is he Superman? You’re just bragging. Can your boss shoot lasers from his eyes and breathe fire?”

Xun Guangfan instantly turned to Qin Xian, “Boss, can you do that?”

    Qin Xian: “…”

Yu Jie nudged Xun Guangfan beside her and whispered, “His eyes can glow gold, and he can use fire. It seems he wasn’t entirely wrong.”

Qin Xian looked at the group of chattering chicks, along with the police watching the excitement. After a moment of thought, he extended his hand. Rather than letting them waste time arguing, it was better to prove himself and make them obedient.

The students looked over curiously, only to see a blue flame ignite in his palm out of thin air.

    “Wow!!!!”

The lobby was filled with exclamations. More than a dozen pairs of eyes were fixed on the flame.

When Qin Xian withdrew his hand, the students swarmed around him like little animals.

“Whoa, boss, are you really Superman? Do superpowers really exist in this world!?”

“Is that real? Show us again, show us again!”

“How the hell did you do that? Coach, I want to learn this!”

Qin Xian grew a little impatient with being pestered. He turned, rushed out of the crowd, and jumped onto a nearby vending machine in two steps, drawing another round of “Wows.”

“Quiet.” He tapped the cabinet with his index finger, and the chattering students immediately quieted down and pricked up their ears.

“Three people have already died. If you don’t want to die, shut up and listen to me. There are 21 people here now, but based on my observation from the fourth floor, there are only 22 rooms with door numbers. This means we’ve encountered a classic scenario from a horror movie.”

    “Wh-what do you mean?”

“Idiot, it means we have two extra people out of nowhere… Holy crap…”

“Two of us here are ghosts!”

The students cried out in surprise, simultaneously moving away from each other and beginning to scrutinize their companions. Even Xun Guangfan and a few others looked at each other with concern.

But in reality, these two ghosts might not be the murderers. Those two grotesque beings likely entered with them last, and the three students might have died before that. This meant the method by which deaths were triggered in this dungeon was still unclear.

Qin Xian continued, “To prevent encountering danger later, our activity space will be limited to the first floor. No one is allowed to go upstairs.”

The students dared not object. They had already fallen into a ghost movie scenario, and no one dared to be alone.

Qin Xian was satisfied with this effect. He jumped off the vending machine and walked towards the stairs, followed by a string of little tails. It was only when he reached the upper floor that Xun Guangfan and the others managed to stop the followers, who reluctantly looked up at Qin Xian.

Even from upstairs, he could faintly hear the discussions below:

“Ghosts and superpowers really exist in this world, that’s awesome! Do you think I can learn superpowers too and become like the boss? I want to be able to fly!”

“Then I want to control metal.”

“I want to transform into a magical girl!”

“You’ll probably turn into a magical old hag.”

“Stupid, you’ll only turn into a super-powered turd!”

    So full of energy…

Qin Xian withdrew his gaze and returned to room 408. After searching the room, he picked up a notebook.

“Sorry,” Qin Xian murmured softly and reached out to open the book.

Perhaps because he had only arrived here recently, the notebook was very new, with only a few pages written on.

[1. I don’t know what happened. When I opened my eyes, I came to a magical place. But no one is here to manage me, and all my discarded dolls are back! The discarded cards and merchandise are back too! No one here dictates my hobbies. I like it here, and I want to live here forever!]

[2. I’m so happy. I’ve arranged all my dolls, from the living room to the bedroom, even the kitchen. My dream room!]

[3. It’s a little boring, but I can still watch dramas.]

[4. Someone died!!!! I know we’re all bad kids, but even if we’re bad, we shouldn’t kill people, right!? They said it must be because he did something related to studying that violated the rules… This, when I think about it carefully, is too strange. Why didn’t I think about these things when I first came? How could a magical space suddenly appear and give us so many good things? How did we get in?]

[5. I kind of want to go home. Home wasn’t that bad, and studying wasn’t that annoying… Anyway, the college entrance examination is coming soon, I can endure it for a little longer. Mom and Dad actually love me… Otherwise, they wouldn’t have agreed to spend so much money to buy me so many dolls. It was I who became rebellious later…]

Qin Xian closed the notebook. It seemed Guo Miaomiao and the other deceased girl had something in common; they had indeed violated the rules of this domain.

But these rules were too vague. Merely having thoughts of wanting to study would lead to death? Perhaps a little experimentation would reveal the truth.

He went directly back to his room, walked through the blood-scented bathroom, stepped over the blood-stained carpet, sat at the desk, and opened his computer, starting to search for college entrance examination practice papers from the past year.

Two hours later, Qin Xian, with a throbbing headache, looked up. There was no abnormality in the room. Even the bathroom where the corpse was hidden was very quiet, with no haunting or reanimation.

It seemed the condition for triggering death was not such a foolish thing. What exactly had those three deceased students experienced? And what was the condition for leaving this place?

After a moment of thought, Qin Xian walked out of the room and called Xun Guangfan upstairs.

“Brother Qin, have you found any clues?”

Qin Xian leaned on the corridor railing with both hands, looking down at the situation on the first floor from the fourth floor. The students were gathered in small groups. Despite being only a dozen or so people, their chatter was as loud as a whole class.

He suddenly asked Xun Guangfan, “Which high school did you graduate from?”

Xun Guangfan didn’t understand why he was suddenly talking about life, but he answered obediently, “I graduated from No. 1 High School. I’m technically their senior.”

“Why did you want to become a police officer?”

“Ah… my mother is also a people’s police officer. She’s remarkable, saved people, and received commendations. I want to be like her too.”

Qin Xian propped his face with one hand and looked at his sunny smile, then continued expressionlessly, “You seem like a good police officer. It looks like you’re close to achieving that dream.”

Xun Guangfan was taken aback and chuckled twice, unable to respond.

“Do you know, people who are chosen by grotesque domains often have some painful experiences or dark thoughts. Because those with weaknesses are more likely to become their food.”

    Xun Guangfan’s eyes widened.

“What about you? Which situation do you fall into?”
