ACIFITFDB – Chapter 29
by BLReadsChapter 29: Teacher, I Really Like You…
The students chattered like a flock of chicks, immediately surrounding Qin Xian and bombarding him with questions.
Qin Xian was utterly helpless, fully experiencing the pain of being a teacher.
He raised his index finger to his lips, made a “shushing” sound, and pointed towards the door.
“If you don’t want to attract more monsters, keep quiet.”
The students of City No. 1 High School generally had a high level of discipline. Hearing this, they immediately lowered their voices.
“Okay, okay… Teacher Qin, you’re so handsome, do you have a girlfriend?”
Qin Xian: “…”
Were these students still suppressing their true nature after being locked up for only two or three days?
Fortunately, a classmate next to her lightly slapped her arm. “Are you kidding me? Is this the time to talk about that?”
Qin Xian breathed a sigh of relief and asked, “Can you tell me what happened to you in the past three days?”
The classroom immediately erupted in hushed chatter, which Qin Xian couldn’t hear clearly. However, from a slightly further back row, a girl was earnestly raising her right hand, waiting for Qin Xian to call on her.
Qin Xian immediately reached out to her. “Alright, please tell me, everyone else be quiet.”
The girl immediately stood up, her back straight, her high ponytail hanging down her back.
She recounted the events in a fluent, concise, and clear manner.
“The night before last, after we finished washing up and returned for evening study, we found strange people had entered the classroom. At first, we didn’t pay much attention. Someone reported it to a teacher, and then we resumed our studies. But halfway through evening study, no teacher came into the classroom. Since we usually have good discipline, no one found it too strange. It wasn’t until the broadcast announced that everyone had to gather on the sports field. We arrived at the field in confusion and found a group of masked figures announcing that they had taken control of the school and we had to comply.”
“We initially thought it was a terrorist attack, and some students even tried to argue or resist, but they were immediately met with an arm broken by a monster disguised as a security guard.”
She frowned, seemingly pained by the recollection.
“That monster could even spit out tentacles… We’d never seen anything like it, it was terrifying.”
As she spoke, she touched her face in a somewhat distraught manner.
Qin Xian’s voice was much softer than usual. “If it’s too difficult, take a break.”
“No,” the girl’s expression quickly calmed down after taking a deep breath. “Then they laid down a lot of absurd rules, such as changing our curriculum and requiring us to complete learning tasks according to the new requirements. For example, the one about… requiring us to have a relationship… with the opposite sex within three days.”
As she said this, many students below made “yue” (gagging) gestures. Some also muttered a few curses.
The girl’s clenched fists trembled. “Also, they demanded that we burn our textbooks, denouncing this knowledge as garbage… and that we damage school facilities. At this point, some teachers rushed over from their dormitories. They charged forward. But those monsters… immediately tortured two teachers to the brink of death right in front of us. They demanded the teachers join them, and the vast majority of teachers immediately refused. After they ‘taught them a lesson,’ they took them away. Our homeroom teacher was also taken, and hasn’t appeared since.”
Tears welled up in the girl’s eyes, and others’ eyes also turned red. The atmosphere in the classroom became extremely oppressive.
The girl continued with a tearful voice, “And… some students actually willingly joined them. Those monsters said that those who joined them could replace teachers and school leaders, could arbitrarily control others, even teachers, and could arbitrarily cause destruction on campus.”
“Of course… those were very few people.” The girl’s eyes flashed with hatred. Compared to the monsters, she harbored much deeper hatred for these betrayers.
“Damn it, Zhou Fantu from our class joined them, and this morning he even came over to teach us online slang… which is basically just online insults and violent language. If we didn’t listen, he’d whip us and make us run twenty laps.”
“The one from the next class wouldn’t even let us eat or drink, how can they be so disgusting! Are they even human?!”
The girl wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, bit her lip, clenched her fist, and asked, “Teacher Qin, what exactly are we encountering? These things… are not scientific at all, do monsters really exist in our world?”
“I’ll give you a general explanation, please be quiet.”
The surrounding students immediately concentrated, holding their breath. Even students from other classes in the hallway crowded into the classroom, but everyone was very quiet.
Qin Xian’s voice was calm and gentle. “You can understand it this way: monsters from another world have invaded. They are born from human negative emotions and feed on them. The school is a good place for them; they want to plunge you into despair to become their food or accomplices.”
“Then… then what should we do?”
“The police have already surrounded this place, and some brave police officers have entered the school. I am one of them. The monsters here will definitely be defeated, but if you are willing to pull yourselves together, the nightmare will end sooner.”
“What should we do? As long as I can leave here and go home quickly, I’ll do anything!”
“Don’t be afraid, don’t believe them, maintain positive thoughts. The monsters want to use you, so they won’t kill you easily. But you also have to pretend to obey them and protect yourselves. If possible, spread what I’ve said to more classmates without being discovered. You don’t need to do anything else; try not to conflict with the enemy. Please remember to protect yourselves; this will be of great help to us.”
The students looked at each other. Their anxiety and nascent despair lessened.
The girl who had raised her hand earlier was the first to answer, “Okay, we understand. We will stick to our principles, trust the police, and believe we will leave here alive!”
This girl was clearly a top student in her class, not only emotionally stable but also very proactive, retaining the enthusiasm unique to adolescence.
“What’s your name?” Qin Xian asked.
The girl replied, “Teacher Qin, my name is Xu Zimo!”
Qin Xian reached out and patted her shoulder, saying, “Keep it up, you can do it.”
Xu Zimo nodded heavily. Her previously red eyes had returned to normal, her large eyes shining brightly.
“Hey! What are you doing!? Wandering into another class, violating discipline! All of class 2211 go to the sports field and run fifteen laps!”
A scolding voice came from the doorway. The students of class 2211 turned to see who had arrived and showed expressions of disgust.
Qin Xian also looked over and saw four people who were clearly also students at the doorway. However, they were not wearing school uniforms. Some were dressed extravagantly, wearing ripped jeans, earrings, and dyed hair.
“Who are you?” Qin Xian asked.
A short, chubby boy put his hands on his hips and replied, “Us? We’re from the student council! You violated discipline, and I have the right to punish you!”
Qin Xian smiled. “Student council? You don’t look like it.”
These kids were likely the ones Xu Zimo mentioned, who had sided with the enemy.
However, it seemed that most of these children were problem students who had seized power during this opportunity to bully their classmates. Judging by their behavior, they hadn’t been completely corrupted by the domain yet, and their methods of punishment were still relatively minor.
Qin Xian said to them, “I called the students of class 2211 here. I and their class teacher are conducting a joint class. Is that a problem?”
As he spoke, he pointed to the still unconscious, fatted male lying on the ground.
The chubby boy from the student council was startled and blurted out, “What kind of class are you teaching!? Why are you hitting people!”
Qin Xian asked, “Am I a violent teacher? Is there something wrong with that?”
“V-violent…” the boy stammered.
Suddenly, a hand reached out and pushed the chubby boy backward. A tall figure stepped forward.
Qin Xian immediately frowned and observed carefully.
It was a boy who looked about 18 years old, handsome, but with a hint of wickedness in his features, not like a well-behaved student. He had messy black hair and shiny red earrings. Although he looked about the same age as the students, Qin Xian felt a strong sense of incongruity.
Moreover, this boy curled one corner of his mouth into an unpleasant smile, his black pupils fixed on Qin Xian as if trying to latch onto him, which made him feel somewhat nauseous.
The other student council members seemed to regard him with respect and fear. The boy who had been pushed not only showed no resentment but bowed respectfully and stepped back two paces.
Qin Xian proactively asked, “And who are you?”
“Me? I’m the Student Council President,” he said in a flippant tone, not at all like someone capable of such a position.
Qin Xian chuckled. “You look more like someone who’s always getting disciplined by the student council president.”
“Shut up! You can’t talk about our president like that!” a member next to him immediately pointed at Qin Xian’s nose and cursed. “Our president’s authority is far greater than yours, a mere teacher!”
“Oh,” Qin Xian shrugged indifferently and asked, “So, since I requested a joint class, they aren’t violating discipline, right?”
“I’m sorry, Teacher Qin, you are still in violation,” the president spoke first.
“If you want to conduct a joint class, you need to report it to the school in advance. Do you have that? If not, your punishment is the same as the students. You need to go downstairs and run fifteen laps with them.”
As he spoke, he walked directly towards Qin Xian. As he got closer, Qin Xian realized that this eighteen-year-old boy was very tall, almost reaching his height.
The president leaned forward, his nose almost touching Qin Xian’s, and said in a frivolous tone, “However, I really like you. I won’t punish you and the students this time. But you have to come with me.”
With that, he reached out a finger to hook Qin Xian’s collar.
Qin Xian slapped his hand directly. The skin there visibly turned red.
The president clutched his throbbing hand and laughed, “Teacher, you’re so fierce, hitting a student. Aren’t you afraid I’ll report you to the education bureau?”
“What do you think I teach? If you come any closer, I’ll hit your face,” Qin Xian raised his fist.
The president stepped back two paces and asked, “So, will you all run fifteen laps together, or will you come with me? Choose one.”
Qin Xian snorted coldly, wanting to see what this guy was up to. He immediately replied, “Alright, I’ll go with you.”
“Teacher!” A student from the class immediately stood up, but Qin Xian raised his hand to stop them. His gaze calmly swept across the entire class. Although he didn’t speak, his gaze was like magic, quieting the students.
“I’ll be back later.” With that, he followed the student council president out of the classroom.
As soon as they stepped out of the classroom door, the bell for the break rang twice and was suddenly cut off. A chilling voice sounded from the broadcast. “Good morning, students. The mid-class activity has begun. This mid-class activity is a deadly battle royale. The school will dispatch four monsters to hunt. Please enjoy the fun of your mid-class activity!”
