ACIFITFDB – Chapter 35
by BLReadsChapter 35: The Cat Abuser’s Retribution
Qin Xian also raised his head slightly and sniffed. His nasal passages did feel a bit irritated, but his reaction wasn’t as intense as the Student Council President’s.
However… a subtle feeling suddenly arose.
Qin Xian pointed downstairs and said, “Let’s go, we need to go down and help.”
The Student Council President paused, lowering his hand from his nose. He appeared nonchalant and said, “I don’t think it’s necessary. Listen, that female police officer is still directing operations downstairs. How could their mission bags not have gas masks? We two have no protection and going in would just make us cry and our noses run. Do you want that?”
Qin Xian grinned mischievously, “What if I ordered you to go down immediately?”
The Student Council President chuckled, “You’re so wicked, wanting to see me make a fool of myself. But who told you I like you?”
With that, he actually walked down the stairs, brushing past Qin Xian and continuing downwards.
Qin Xian watched him silently, observing that his chest didn’t even rise and fall.
This guy had held his breath to avoid inhaling the irritating gas. Or perhaps, this guy didn’t need to breathe at all.
Before he had even completely descended, Yuan Fengying and a few others rushed up from the smoke. Upon seeing Qin Xian, she immediately turned and fired a few shots downwards.
The President quietly retreated, returning to Qin Xian’s side, smiling in a way that made one’s teeth ache.
Yuan Fengying’s voice, muffled by her mask, came through, “Be careful, there are eight of them. Each one has a gun, but we’ve already taken two. Do you need them?”
“I don’t really know how to use one,” Qin Xian shook his head and looked at the Student Council President.
The Student Council President spread his hands, “I just turned eighteen.”
Qin Xian and Yuan Fengying fell silent for a moment.
“Then I’ll stay here alone. You guys be careful, they’re definitely going to…”
Before Yuan Fengying could finish, two whistling sounds pierced the air, and two bullets struck the glass of the window behind them, shattering it into pieces.
Several police officers immediately raised their shields, protecting Qin Xian and the Student Council President in the center as they slowly retreated.
Six enemies quickly ascended the stairs, advancing with their weapons.
“Give up! You’re out of bullets, but we still have them, hahahaha!” one of the enemies said with a laugh as he stepped forward.
“Bang!”
A gunshot rang out. Before he could get close, he looked in shock as a bloody hole appeared in his thigh.
“Aargh!”
“They still have bullets! Shoot!”
The others immediately descended into chaos, grabbing their guns and trying to pull the triggers, but a whip shadow flashed before their eyes, and their hands were immediately torn open, causing them to drop their weapons.
The police, holding their shields, pushed several enemies to the wall and turned their guns on them.
With nowhere left to retreat, the group huddled together, their expressions grim.
“What do we do?! Brother Huang, don’t you have the thing the Cult Master gave us?!”
“I heard this thing can’t be used unless absolutely necessary, it has side effects…”
“Is this not necessary?!”
Yuan Fengying frowned, “Don’t move! Lay down your weapons, put your hands on your heads, and squat! Otherwise…”
“Yuan Fengying, fall back!”
“Damn it, we’ll kill you all!”
Brother Huang did something, and a black mist suddenly spread from him, accompanied by a foul odor.
Yuan Fengying immediately retreated, but something within the black mist left a deep, bone-revealing gash on her arm.
Qin Xian cautiously guarded himself, seeing over a dozen pairs of eerie green eyes light up within the black mist. Over a dozen cats appeared beside the enemies. However, these cats looked terrifying, clearly having been abused. Some had half their limbs amputated, while others had their abdomens slit open with their insides protruding, a sickening sight.
But Huang, who had summoned them, looked incredibly happy, “Hahaha! It’s true, I can really control ghosts! The Cult Master was right!”
His companions could only express jealousy, “We did the same things, why don’t we get this ability?”
Huang shot his companions a cold warning glance and got up from the ground, ordering the cat monsters, “Go! Scratch them all to death!”
“Meow…”
But the cat monsters, hearing his voice, didn’t attack the enemies. Instead, they turned their green eyes in unison to stare at Huang and his companions.
A bone-chilling cold spread from the base of their spines to their scalps. Huang’s face changed, “Go, go kill them! Listen to me!”
However, this sound seemed to activate the cat monsters’ nerves, making them instantly frenzied. They crouched low, their sharp claws scratching the ground, and suddenly pounced on Huang and his companions.
The first cat lunged directly for Huang’s eyes, and before he could react, it clawed them out.
A bloody eyeball rolled onto the ground, even attracting the attention of another cat monster, which batted at the eyeball playfully with its paw.
Huang fell to the ground screaming under the horrified gaze of his companions, while the cat monsters, their ferocity ignited, darted around, their blood splashing onto the walls, even covering the students’ graffiti.
Yuan Fengying was stunned by the scene and looked at Qin Xian, “This…”
Qin Xian shook his head, “Can’t save them. If we go over now, we’ll be attacked too. This kind of revenge cannot be stopped.”
Yuan Fengying asked, “Did they abuse cats?”
Qin Xian’s expression was disgusted, “Uh-huh.”
“Then… do we wait until they’re killed before going over?”
“No, I’m afraid we’ll have to fight a small BOSS soon.”
“What?”
Yuan Fengying turned her head to stare at the scene before them. Under the fierce attack, the clothes of these cultists of the Ghost Communication Dao had become tattered rags, and their limbs and bodies were covered in wounds that exposed bone, their blood vessels pulled out and torn, gushing out.
Their eyes were gouged out, their noses bitten off, and soon they couldn’t even whimper. After a few minutes, there was no more movement.
The cat monsters, tearing at human flesh, slowly stopped their actions, staring blankly at the scene… then, they dissolved into a pool of blood that merged with the corpses.
Qin Xian’s expression sharpened, “They’re here.”
Yuan Fengying and the other police officers also prepared themselves.
Under their gaze, the corpses suddenly moved, emitting heart-wrenching screams from their throats again. Immediately after, iron skewers, chopsticks, needles, and blades suddenly burst out from their mouths, bottoms, eyes, and various other parts. Their skin began to char and blacken, then burst into flames.
One police officer exclaimed, “Oh my god! What is that thing?!”
Yuan Fengying immediately reacted, “Xun, Yu! You two protect the front! Everyone else, shoot! Be careful not to hit Mr. Qin and the others!”
The figures, now completely transformed into aberrant entities, stood up. With a flick of their hands, the iron skewers and blades on their bodies flew out.
The two police officers at the front immediately raised their shields, but the power of these blades and skewers was even greater than bullets. The iron skewers directly pierced the shields, with a portion protruding from the back.
“Damn it…” A police officer’s hand was pierced, leaving a small hole.
Qin Xian observed carefully. After these blades were shot out, new blades would grow from the original spots.
This meant they couldn’t deplete their weapons like they did with the spider before.
Seeing this, Qin Xian said to Yuan Fengying, “I’ll go attract its attention. You try to see if headshots are effective.”
With that, he and the Student Council President charged out from left and right. As if ignoring gravity, they stepped on the wall and leaped to the higher level of the stairs.
The aberrant entities all turned.
“Bang bang bang!!”
Several gunshots rang out, and bullets pierced through their heads, leaving bloody holes.
Qin Xian wiped brain matter from his cheek, his whip wrapped around an aberrant entity’s neck, and forcefully yanked its entire head off.
However, the aberrant entity, now headless, did not fall. Its severed neck writhed, and a cat’s head immediately grew back.
A fleshy, bloody human body topped with a cat’s head. The cat’s head was severely rotten, but the half-torn ear on top would still twitch. This action, which would be incredibly cute on a live kitten, only instilled horror in those present when on this thing.
“Bang bang!”
“Don’t stop! Keep shooting! Aim for other vital points!” Yuan Fengying shouted, holding her gun.
But the aberrant entities, now with cat heads, seemed to have entered a second form, their agility completely different from before. The aberrant entities leaped with bloody flesh, soaring nearly two meters into the air, and landed directly behind the shields.
Then, it immediately extended its claws towards the stunned police officers.
At the critical moment, Qin Xian arrived and threw his whip directly at it, slamming it against the wall.
“Meow!”
“Meow-ow-ow!!”
The cat monster roared and climbed back up, charging forward with its five companions in a surrounding formation.
Qin Xian increased the amplitude of his whip swings, the whip shadows flashing in the air. The aberrant entities were forced back by the whip strikes before they could even get close.
Meanwhile, the Student Council President raised a steel rod, which he had somehow dismantled, and thrust it into the back of a cat monster from behind. He then continued to exert force until the cat monster collapsed on the ground, after which he drove the steel rod into the floor.
To prevent the cat monster from escaping, the Student Council President even bent one end of the rebar with his bare hands.
“Aaaargh!!”
The cat monster, pinned to the ground, screamed and struggled desperately.
Qin Xian immediately noticed the problem, “They are terrified of being pierced by sharp objects! This might be related to how the cats were abused in life!”
Yuan Fengying and the others understood and immediately said, “We’ll try to stall with the shields! You guys go find sharp objects!”
The Student Council President said, “There’s an iron door in the stairwell upstairs.”
Qin Xian and he immediately rushed into the stairwell upstairs. Indeed, an iron door, installed to prevent students from wandering in, was in the middle of the stairwell.
Some of the vertical bars on the iron door were rusted. Qin Xian stepped forward and kicked it heavily a few times, and a iron rod fell off.
After smashing it on the ground a couple more times to deform and sharpen the tip, a useful sealing weapon appeared.
There were a total of six cat monsters. The two of them quickly prepared the four iron rods and returned to the battlefield, only to see that several police officers had already been injured.
“Get out of the way!”
Qin Xian took a step back, then with a sprint, he leaped down from the ten-step staircase.
Yuan Fengying immediately retreated, and Qin Xian, risking being burned by the flames, stomped on a cat monster and forcefully drove the iron rod into it.
Even though the protruding blades on the cat monster’s body scratched his hand, he showed no expression.
“I’m sorry, but it’s better to end your suffering sooner.”
