ACIFITFDB – Chapter 41
by BLReadsChapter 41: Coach, I Want to Learn This
With Qin Xian’s command, Xun Guangfan and several other police officers immediately changed their attitude and swarmed out. It was better to treat these students as criminal suspects and arrest them all than to talk to them nicely.
Although everyone had reverted to being 18 years old, the students were still no match for experienced police officers, let alone Qin Xian. In less than half an hour, they were all brought downstairs like little chicks. Counting them, there were 21 in total, with more boys than girls.
Some were still defiant, but others were quite obedient. As soon as they heard it was Qin Xian who asked them to come, they scurried over. Leading them was the boy named Guo Jiarong, who had completely identified himself as a follower and even argued with classmates who had objections.
“Why should I listen to you, pretty boy!?”
“Pfft! That’s our boss. Do you believe he can knock your head off with one punch?”
“Who believes that!”
“Hmph, hmph, then you haven’t seen the heroic sight of my boss punching a cabinet and tearing down a security door with one pull.”
“Holy cow, that’s Superman, you’re just bragging. Can your boss shoot lasers from his eyes and breathe fire from his mouth?”
Xun Guangfan’s head whipped around to look at Qin Xian. “Boss, can you do that?”
Qin Xian: “…”
Yu Jie poked Xun Guangfan beside him and whispered, “His eyes glow gold, and he can use fire. It seems he’s not wrong.”
Qin Xian looked at the chattering chicks, plus the police officers watching the fun. After a moment of thought, he extended his hand. Rather than let these people continue arguing and waste time, it was better to prove himself and make them obedient.
The students looked over curiously. They saw a blue flame ignite in his palm out of thin air.
“Wow!!!”
A chorus of “wows” echoed through the hall, with more than a dozen pairs of eyes fixed on the flame.
When Qin Xian retracted his hand, the students swarmed him like little animals.
“Whoa, boss, are you really Superman? Are there superpowers in this world!?”
“Is that real? Show us again, show us again!”
“Damn, how did you do that? Coach, I want to learn this!”
Qin Xian became a little impatient with being pestered. He turned and rushed out of the crowd, jumping onto a nearby vending machine twice, which drew another round of “wows.”
“Quiet.” He tapped the cabinet with his index finger, and the chattering students immediately quieted down and pricked up their ears.
“Three people are already dead. If you don’t want to die, shut up and listen to me. There are 21 people here in total, but based on my observation from the fourth floor, there are only 22 rooms with doorplates. This means we’ve encountered a classic scenario from a horror movie.”
“Wh-what does that mean?”
“Idiot, it means we have two extra people out of nowhere… Holy crap…”
“There are two ghosts among us!”
The students exclaimed, and at the same time, they moved away from each other and began to scrutinize their companions. Even Xun Guangfan and his colleagues looked at each other with some concern.
However, these two ghosts might not be the murderers. Those two eldritch entities were probably among the last to enter with them, and the three students might have died before that. This meant the trigger for death in this dungeon was still unclear.
Qin Xian continued, “To prevent danger in the future, our activity space will be limited to the first floor. No one is allowed upstairs.”
The students dared not object to this. They had already fallen into a ghost movie scenario, and no one dared to be alone.
Qin Xian was very satisfied with this effect. He jumped off the vending machine and walked towards the stairs, with a string of little tails following behind him. Only when he went upstairs were the little tails stopped by Xun Guangfan and his colleagues, who looked up at Qin Xian with reluctant eyes.
Even from upstairs, he could faintly hear the discussions below:
“There are really ghosts and superpowers in this world, that’s awesome! Do you think I might learn superpowers too and become like the boss? I want to fly!”
“Then I want to control metal.”
“I want to transform into a magical girl!”
“You’ll probably turn into a magical old witch.”
“You idiot, you can only become a poop-powered superhero!”
So full of vitality…
Qin Xian withdrew his gaze and returned to Room 408. After searching the room, he picked up a notebook.
“Sorry,” Qin Xian whispered as he opened the notebook.
Perhaps because they hadn’t been here long, the notebook was very new, with only a few pages written on.
[1. I don’t know what happened. The moment I opened my eyes, I arrived in a magical place. But here, my parents don’t manage me, and my discarded dolls are back! My discarded cards and merchandise are also back! No one here dictates my hobbies. I like it here, and I want to live here forever!]
[2. I’m so happy, I’ve arranged all my dolls, from the living room to the bedroom and even the kitchen. My dream room!]
[3. It’s getting a little boring, but I can still watch dramas.]
[4. Someone died!!!! I know we’re all bad kids, but even bad kids shouldn’t kill, right!? They said it must have been someone who violated the rules by doing something related to studying… This, when I think about it carefully, it’s too strange. Why didn’t I think about these things when I first came? How could a magical space suddenly appear and give us so many good things? How did we get in?]
[5. I kind of want to go home. Home isn’t that bad, and studying isn’t that annoying… Anyway, the college entrance exam is coming soon, I can just persist for a bit longer. My parents actually love me… otherwise, they wouldn’t agree to spend money buying me so many dolls. It was me who became rebellious later… ]
Qin Xian closed the notebook. It seemed Guo Miaomiao and the other deceased girl had something in common; they had indeed violated the rules of this domain.
But the rule was too vague. Just having a thought of wanting to study well would lead to death? Perhaps a little experimentation would reveal the truth.
He went directly back to his room, walked through the blood-scented bathroom, stepped over the blood-stained carpet, and sat at the desk, opening his computer to search for college entrance exam practice papers from the past year.
Two hours later, Qin Xian, with a dizzy head, looked up. There was no abnormality in the room. Even the bathroom that hid the corpse was very quiet, with no haunting or reanimation.
It seemed the condition for triggering death was not so idiotic. What exactly had those three deceased students experienced? And what were the conditions for leaving this place?
After a moment of thought, Qin Xian walked out of his room and called Xun Guangfan upstairs.
“Brother Qin, have you found any clues?”
Qin Xian leaned on the corridor railing with both hands, looking down at the situation on the first floor from the fourth floor. The students were gathered in groups of twos and threes, and despite being only a dozen or so people, their chatter sounded like a whole class.
He suddenly asked Xun Guangfan, “Which high school did you graduate from?”
Xun Guangfan didn’t understand why he was suddenly talking about life, but he answered obediently, “I graduated from City No. 1 High School. I’m one of their seniors.”
“Why did you want to become a police officer?”
“Ah… My mother is also a police officer. She’s amazing, she saved people and earned merits. I want to be like her.”
Qin Xian rested his face on one hand and looked at his sunny smile, then continued expressionlessly, “You seem like a good police officer. It looks like you’re close to that dream.”
Xun Guangfan was taken aback and chuckled twice, unable to continue the conversation.
“Do you know, people who are chosen by an eldritch domain usually have some painful experiences or some dark thoughts. Because people with weaknesses are more likely to become their food.”
Xun Guangfan’s eyes widened.
“And you? What’s your situation?”
Author’s Note: The recent low word count is due to revisions. Yesterday, I deleted six chapters in one go, and this part has been completely rewritten, orz. Even though not many people are reading, I still don’t want to be perfunctory [kiss emoji].
