106: Qiu Ci is Really Back

The woman wouldn’t buy it for him, so he kept crying.

Jing Yueming knew the little boy would get that umbrella. The woman would soften; she loved this child, so she always gave in whenever he cried.

This wasn’t good. It might instill bad habits for a long time. In college, he’d cry for luxury goods, expensive phones and computers. After graduation, he’d want a car and a house.

Jing Yueming got rid of this habit after starting elementary school.

Sure enough, the woman bought him that blue cartoon umbrella and a roasted sausage to appease him. The two happily walked away.

That umbrella was so cute. Really, so very cute.

Jing Yueming was envious, envious of that umbrella, and envious of the person willing to buy it for him.

The store clerk asked Jing Yueming if he wanted to pay for his items.

    “Yes, just these.”

    Bread, instant noodles.

    That was all.

The store clerk expressionlessly scanned the items and completed the transaction.

Jing Yueming waded back to the school dormitory.

    The water was so cold.

    His head hurt so much.

Twenty-five-year-old Jing Yueming woke up in a warehouse, his hands and feet bound.

What time was it? Did Qiu Ci know? He’d been kidnapped.

Would Qiu Ci rush back from the Netherlands for him?

Jing Yueming was a little bit happy, even. He thought Qiu Ci would come back.

It was good to be back, so good to be back.

The anesthetic hadn’t worn off, and he didn’t know if there would be any aftereffects. Jing Yueming was groggy for a long time before he heard footsteps.

It was those same men again.

“He’s awake. If he’s awake, get him up to eat something.”

Something wrapped in paper was thrown at Jing Yueming. It was a hamburger.

“Forgot you were tied up.” The man asked his companion, “Is that drug pretty strong? I’ll untie him first.”

The companion nodded. “So much trouble. What’s wrong with a big guy missing a couple of meals? When is that Qiu guy arriving?”

Jing Yueming’s hands were untied. The drug definitely had a lingering effect. He felt like all the muscles in his body were weak, and his stomach was growling with hunger.

“Eat quickly, kid. Your President Qiu specifically ordered that you shouldn’t be thirsty or hungry. Damn it, so much trouble.”

“When is he arriving?” Jing Yueming asked, speaking his first sentence.

“Getting off the high-speed train. Another half hour, maybe. Damn it, why am I wasting my breath on you? Eat quickly.”

Jing Yueming was so hungry that his stomach was stuck to his back, but he didn’t touch the food, determined to starve himself.

“Eat it or don’t, the hell with you.” The man cursed a few times.

    Wait.

“Qiu Ci is taking the high-speed train?”

Clearly, the two men disdained chatting with this prisoner.

Jing Yueming was left alone to struggle with the cold, tempting hamburger.

One, it was to prove his integrity, and two, so that Qiu Ci would feel more sorry for him later.

After all, he had been kidnapped and injected with some unknown drug. Even if he got out, Qiu Ci should at least take care of him for a year and a half.

What if there were any aftereffects?

These kidnappers were after Qiu Ci’s money. It wasn’t an exaggeration to put it on Qiu Ci’s head.

In short, Qiu Ci had to stay.

He “struggled” with the hamburger for a long time.

The two men received orders on the walkie-talkie. Qiu Ci must have arrived.

Jing Yueming couldn’t figure out what day or time it was, but it should be soon. They probably set off as soon as they received the message.

Inappropriately, his heart felt a little fluttery.

“Damn it, he even wants to see you. Quickly untie your own feet!” The man urged Jing Yueming.

Instead, he fell to the ground and didn’t move.

“What the hell!” The man’s rebellious behavior made his stomach ache with anger. He wanted to go up and punch him a couple of times, but his companion stopped him. “Don’t hit him. That Qiu guy is already so troublesome. He’ll be unhappy if he sees it.”

“Damn it, I have to vent this anger on that sissy.”

Jing Yueming also silently swallowed a mouthful of anger. Damn it.

After a while, many footsteps sounded together, particularly noisy.

Jing Yueming keenly captured Qiu Ci’s walking rhythm.

    He was here.

The Third Miss spoke with a complex tone, “Are you really willing to trade with me?”

Qiu Ci said, “You also have to guarantee what you promised me.”

The Third Miss shook her head. “I’m not sure if I can protect this guy from my sisters. I just want CW shares and decision-making power. I’m not interested in whether you live or die. Sign the contract and take him away.”

Qiu Ci stopped walking. “You’re mistaken. All of that is with Jing Yueming. If you want to exercise those powers, you have to take good care of him. If you dare to go back on your word, I have a lawyer friend in Japan.”

The Third Miss really couldn’t understand how she could be treated like a working stiff in this situation. “Don’t forget, you’re on my turf right now. Sign the contract and get out of here.”

“Then let Jing Yueming leave, and we’ll discuss the details.” Qiu Ci made a final negotiation.

The Third Miss readily agreed. “No problem. I was originally planning to bring you here. I didn’t wait for you at the airport, just saw him.”

As she spoke, the group arrived next to Jing Yueming.

Seeing that he was still pretending to be asleep, the Third Miss was impatient. “Wasn’t he already awake?”

The bodyguard reported the situation to her.

Qiu Ci squatted down and touched his forehead. “I’ll ask again, what drug was used? How much was used? How many hours ago was it used?”

The Third Miss looked at the bodyguard. The man took out a few glass bottles from his pocket. “Propofol. I injected five of them. He’s been asleep for about ten hours. Tsk, so troublesome.”

“Send him to the hospital.” When he was hospitalized more than ten years ago, Qiu Ci had learned a little about many drugs, their functions, and adverse reactions. “Hurry. Did you think I was joking with you?” Qiu Ci emphasized again.

Perhaps the Third Miss wasn’t very intimidating. The man cursed, “It’s nothing. This guy was lively and kicking just now, and now he’s pretending to be asleep. Damn it, it’s just a matter of grabbing him and getting him to sign. So much trouble.”

The Third Miss’s face turned dark, and she looked at Qiu Ci. “I’ll send him to the hospital.”

“I’ll go with him, or how can you guarantee that you’ll do as I say?” Qiu Ci emphasized.

The Third Miss narrowed her eyes. “Qiu Ci, what are you kidding about? This is my place. Even if you don’t trust me, what can you do? Why don’t you two just stay here?”

Qiu Ci gently patted Jing Yueming. “Little Jing?”

The bodyguard rolled his eyes. “Damn it, this guy’s pretending to be asleep.”

The Third Miss couldn’t take it anymore and yelled at the bodyguard, “Shut up!”

Jing Yueming slowly opened his eyes and saw Qiu Ci by his side. “Qiu Ci…”

    “Yes, is anything uncomfortable?”

Jing Yueming sat up and hugged Qiu Ci’s neck. “Qiu Ci…” He called again.

“I’m here, I’m here.” Qiu Ci was a little worried. Headaches, amnesia, and other things could be aftereffects of propofol.

Jing Yueming was like a pet who had finally been found again, sticking tightly to his owner, afraid of being abandoned again.

Looking at Jing Yueming’s state, Qiu Ci felt that he should reassure him first. “Third Miss, please give us some private time.”

The bodyguard sneered. The Third Miss glared at him and said, “Ten minutes. After ten minutes, let him get out of here.” With that, she left with two bodyguards.

Jing Yueming hurriedly said, “Qiu Ci, they’re going to catch you.”
