    53: Jealous Acidity

Qiu Ci usually takes classes outside, preparing to apply for schools abroad, only returning on weekends.

    “Yeah, preparing for the exam.”

“Isn’t the exam in winter? Where are you planning to apply?”

“I’ll try the Academy of Fine Arts first. I prefer classical realistic oil paintings like Da Vinci. I want to be a painter,” Qiu Ci said, his eyes shining. Children of this age are always a bit chuuni and confident.

Qiu Shi coldly chuckled twice, with no genuine blessing: “Heh, good luck.”

Qiu Ci, immersed in his own fantasy, didn’t notice Qiu Shi’s mood: “Thank you, I hope you get in too.”

“I haven’t even studied, what am I going to test for?” Qiu Shi rolled her eyes.

“I’m talking about the foreign financial university you’re preparing for.” Qiu Ci packed up his things and set off.

Leaving Qiu Shi alone at home.

“I got recommended, silly brother,” Qiu Shi shook her head.

Looking at the pile of pen tips and used paint boxes and markers that Qiu Ci left behind.

    Why?

Qiu Shi thought of the pile of boring books in her room.

And Qiu Ci’s words: “I want to be a painter.”

Qiu Shi wasn’t that sensible, just greedy and loved to show off.

Showing off in the orphanage that she had a younger brother, a family.

She wasn’t an independent and sensible older sister, just wanted to be better than others.

When Louis wanted her to inherit him, not Qiu Ci.

Qiu Shi got enough of a sense of recognition.

She also wanted to learn to paint.

She and Qiu Ci had the same hobbies.

The more Qiu Shi thought about it, the more uncomfortable she felt. She was bearing these things for Qiu Ci.

At noon, she received a call from Qin Yishan.

    “Hello.”

Because of her bad mood, Qiu Shi’s attitude was also indifferent.

“Ai La, I came to China, do you want to have dinner together or something? Dad said we should interact more.”

“Tonight? Allen has class during the day.” They said they would come back together, but they didn’t. They came to China separately.

Qiu Shi and the others were a bit later. Except for Qin Yishan occasionally sharing updates with Qiu Shi at his father’s urging, the two had no contact at all.

Since he was back this time and wanted to get together, Qiu Shi thought she should bring Qiu Ci along.

“Isn’t it the weekend? He still has class.” Qin Yishan was abroad all year round and didn’t quite understand the Chinese education system.

    “He’s taking extra lessons.”

“Okay, is there anything you want to eat?”

    “No, just decide.”

In the end, only Qiu Shi came to the appointment.

Qiu Ci called to say that he had a critique tonight, and there were some Academy of Fine Arts professors, in short, he couldn’t come.

Seeing Qin Yishan again, this guy had already grown into a standard 1.89-meter-tall excellent male human.

“My third sister is so strict with me, I really want to complain.” Qin Yishan chose a local cuisine Chinese restaurant, the private room wasn’t so serious.

    Qiu Shi was absent-minded: “Mhm.”

“By the way, where’s your brother?”

“Learning to paint, still working overtime,” Qiu Shi simply repeated the excuse Qiu Ci used on the phone.

Qin Yishan expressed some shock: “Ah? I thought he was studying finance with you.”

“He likes painting. Forcing him to study finance would probably be worse than death,” Qiu Shi said stubbornly, biting into a rib.

“How do you know he wouldn’t like it?” Qin Yishan looked amused.

Qiu Shi was a little stunned: “How else would I know? He likes art, you want him to study finance? He likes salty food, and of course he wouldn’t be happy if you forced him to eat sweet food.”

    “Hahahaha.” Qin Yishan laughed.

“What are you laughing at?” Qiu Shi didn’t find it that funny.

“That’s not what I’m laughing at. I just realized that you and Allen are twins.”

    “Yeah.”

“It is said that twins look very alike.”

“His features are almost identical to mine, except his eyes inherited from his grandmother, are that light green color.” It seemed Qin Yishan had never met Qiu Ci.

“Moreover, you have the same hobbies, don’t you also dislike finance?” Qin Yishan asked.

Qiu Shi felt it was amazing: “How did you know!”

Qin Yishan suppressed his smile: “When I saw you a few years ago, I felt you were cocky and confident, but now I feel like you’ve been sucked dry of energy, very gloomy and decadent.”

“I even want to just run away, the world is so big, where can’t I settle down?”

“Good ambition,” Qin Yishan praised, then changed the subject: “Haven’t you heard another saying, happiness is all about comparison? You feel uncomfortable now because your brother is having too good of a time.”

“Ah?” Qiu Shi was surprised, but quickly understood. It seemed that was indeed the case.

She wished it was her who had that shining look in her eyes this morning, saying: “I want to be a painter.”

But she was also angry that Qiu Ci could do what he liked without any worries.

“Did I tell you? My sister accidentally tripped another sister to get a speaking opportunity. Everyone knew she did it on purpose.”

Qiu Shi commented: “Real sisters? That’s pretty cold-blooded.”

“After all, there are too many children in my family, and everyone wants to show off in front of Dad.”

    “So what did you do?”

Qin Yishan chuckled: “I can’t tell you that.”

    After dinner, she went home.

In the middle of the night, Qiu Ci called her, waking Qiu Shi from her sleep.

“Sister, can you find me a driver? I plan to go to a teacher’s place in Hangzhou. I have a lot of stuff, and it’s easy to damage it if I ship it. I want to drive it over directly.”

    Qiu Shi agreed sleepily.

After hanging up the phone, she gradually woke up.

This guy ran to Hangzhou again?

She opened the chat box with Qiu Ci on her phone.

Qiu Ci sent her a lot of stuff in the afternoon and evening.

“Sister, the teacher said I’m the best student she’s ever had.”

Followed by a portrait from each stage, lifelike and incredibly detailed.

    Typical realistic painting style.

“The teacher introduced me to her teacher, and the old professor agreed to take me in.”

“I’m going to Hangzhou. It’s not convenient for the old professor to travel, so of course I’m going.”

And several pictures of his paintings hanging in the highest and clearest position on the wall.

Many students were beating their chests and stamping their feet in front of this painting.

    What a dazzling position.

Qiu Ci was definitely happier than she was at those wealthy businessmen’s banquets.

Qiu Shi fell into a sour jealousy.

She wanted to talk to someone.

But everyone around her thought she was the lucky one between the two siblings.

But she didn’t want the position of heir. She wanted to paint happily like Qiu Ci.

Perhaps there was someone who understood her.

    The bright moon hung high.

Qiu Shi dialed Qin Yishan’s phone.

Qin Yishan wasn’t asleep yet and answered quickly.

“What’s wrong, Ai La?” Calling in the middle of the night meant either talking business or wanting to confide.

Qiu Shi took a deep breath: “I think I’m really jealous of my brother.”

    Qin Yishan understood.

“Haha, that’s normal, you don’t need to feel conflicted,” Qin Yishan said simply.
