    83: Little Qiu Shi

    83: Little Qiu Shi

Time was the least important thing to him.

Every dozen hours, Tsukimi Rin would call.

Every call was urging him, it seemed this matter was truly very important.

Qiu Ci asked Su Yuyang what was going on, but he clearly didn’t know.

However, he also advised Qiu Ci to return for a while, as the autumn/winter fashion week was approaching, and there were many young people this year.

Qiu Ci bought a plane ticket.

Departing in half a month, the timing was about right.

Paris was still the same as ever.

Qiu Ci dragged his suitcase waiting for the driver.

A middle-aged man greeted him and drove him to the designated apartment.

Upon arrival, he discovered that Su Yuyang had already terminated the lease, and finding a temporary place was too troublesome.

So he simply went to the villa.

After many years, he stood here again, looking up at the tall building.

The door lock hadn’t been changed, but he didn’t have the key.

He didn’t know who lived inside and didn’t dare knock.

He prepared to call Tsukimi Rin.

    Before dialing, the door opened.

A rosy-cheeked little girl wearing a delicate princess dress blinked at him.

Qiu Ci shook his head: “Sorry, I have the wrong place.”

“You didn’t get the wrong place.” The little girl tilted her head and smiled at him, revealing two empty spaces where her front teeth should be: “You’re called Qiu Ci.”

“You are?” Qiu Ci was puzzled, there was something inexplicably familiar about this girl.

While he was dazed, a taxi stopped at the door again.

Tsukimi Rin got out of the car with groceries in hand, the familiar figure in front of the door made her feel like she was hallucinating, the man’s half-long hair was tied up with a hair tie, his tall figure was covered by a coat. He looked exactly like Qiu Shi from those years in Tokyo.

“Qiu Ci?” Tsukimi Rin called out his name hesitantly.

Qiu Ci turned around after hearing this: “You live here?”

Before he could get an answer, the little girl pushed him away and ran out, hugging Tsukimi Rin: “Mommy, Uncle is here.”

The two terms made Qiu Ci feel like the blood in his whole body had cooled down, mommy was understandable, but what was this “uncle”?

“Let’s go inside first.” Tsukimi Rin took the things into the house.

Qiu Ci, whose body was stiff, was also pulled in by the little girl: “It’s warm inside.”

The little girl grinned, revealing two small dimples on her face. Looking closely at her eyebrows and eyes, she did resemble Qiu Shi somewhat.

“She is? You and Qiu Shi…”

“Is Qiu Shi’s.” Tsukimi Rin tore off a piece of freshly baked soft bread, it was a modified recipe and not so hard: “I contacted the medical center that did the egg freezing for Qiu Shi that year.”

Qiu Ci’s eyes were still full of disbelief.

Tsukimi Rin continued: “There’s something you said that’s right, Qiu Shi leaving is better than going crazy by our side. But you also said something better, what I can’t forget is Qiu Shi from a long, long time ago, all the men and women in the world can’t compare.” She gave a wry smile: “Am I especially crazy?”

Qiu Ci frowned tightly: “What’s your name?” he asked the little girl nestled in his arms.

The little girl said in a childish voice: “Yue Yue.”

    “And your full name?”

“Yue Yue ah.” The little girl smiled innocently.

Tsukimi Rin couldn’t close her mouth from laughing on the side: “I’m really bad at naming.”

The lighthearted joke didn’t warm Qiu Ci’s face.

He said softly: “Yue Yue, can you go play by yourself for a while?” The little girl looked about four or five years old, and Tsukimi Rin had just left her at home to go shopping.

Yue Yue looked at Tsukimi Rin, and after getting her mother’s nod, she walked away with one step forward and three glances back, because she was walking too slowly, Tsukimi Rin urged her: “You go play by yourself first, let Uncle take you to the rooms upstairs later.”

Only then did Yue Yue quicken her pace.

Qiu Ci blamed her somewhat: “Are you crazy? I want you to forget all this and start a new life, but you…who do you think this will move?”

Tsukimi Rin was not surprised at all: “The fact is that I can’t forget. If there’s no Qiu Shi in the world, then I’ll bring one into existence. Don’t you like Yue Yue? She looks a lot like you too.”

“Even if you had given birth to the child that year, nothing would have changed. Why are you so obsessed?”

Tsukimi Rin leaned back on the sofa: “It has nothing to do with the past, if I had to do it again, I would have aborted the child at that time, but Yue Yue is someone I willingly gave birth to, I miss the seventeen or eighteen year old Qiu Shi ah. How great it was back then, but unfortunately later…”

“It’s fine as long as you don’t regret it yourself, my original intention was to have you both forget Qiu Shi. I never thought about seeing you again, I will send the alimony to you.” Qiu Ci didn’t want to say anymore.

“Just giving money won’t work oh.” Tsukimi Rin said: “I’m applying for an American private investigator certificate, I’ll be very busy next year.”

“You want me to take care of Yue Yue for you?” Qiu Ci was surprised.

“Yeah. And you’ll like her, Yue Yue is obedient and smart.” A touch of pride appeared on Tsukimi Rin’s face.

Qiu Ci’s expression was complicated, but he finally opened his mouth: “I’ve applied for euthanasia.”

Tsukimi Rin didn’t react for a moment what this meant, and after understanding, she suddenly stood up: “You must be joking!”

“Tentatively in March next year, in the Netherlands.” Qiu Ci’s expression was calm.

“You! A healthy person can’t apply for this anywhere, you must have been scammed.” Tsukimi Rin’s smile grew more and more bitter.

“I have a psychological illness certificate, and it’s been observed for three years, only last month was the specific time confirmed. What I mainly want to tell you is that I won’t have time to take care of Yue Yue next year.”

“How can you do this? Qiu Ci, who are you letting down?”

“I don’t need to be worthy of anyone, do you still need me to help you take care of Yue Yue now? If I suddenly disappear in a few months, can she accept it?” In fact, after saying this, Qiu Ci regretted it, he shouldn’t have told Tsukimi Rin, it would become complicated.

Tsukimi Rin was speechless, she began to hesitate.

“Is my room still there? If it’s inconvenient, I’ll go to a hotel tonight.”

“It’s cleaned regularly, nothing has been moved. Your studio and the rooms with the hidden doors haven’t been entered casually, the cleaners take care of it.”

“Thank you.” Qiu Ci went upstairs with his suitcase.

The furnishings inside were indeed unchanged.

Qiu Ci took out the change of clothes he had brought and took a shower first.

    Night was falling.

The retro wooden door was disturbed by a burst of irregular knocking.

Yue Yue shouted at the top of her lungs: “Uncle, Mommy wants you to come down for dinner.”

Qiu Ci opened the door, squatted down and said to her: “I don’t want to eat right now, you guys eat.” Saying that, he rubbed Yue Yue’s fluffy little head.

“But Mommy insists that you come down.” Yue Yue said with a smile: “How about this, Uncle, I’ll refuse Mommy for you, but can you take me out to play tomorrow? Mommy has never taken me to play here, she said you’re familiar with this place. Said she’s waiting for you to come…”

    Qiu Ci nodded: “Okay.”

Yue Yue skipped down to reply.

Qiu Ci yawned again, he rarely felt sleepy, he had to seize the time to sleep, if he missed it, he might not be able to sleep for another twenty hours.

Just as he lay down, the door was knocked again, three times and then a pause, then three more times.

Obviously it wasn’t Yue Yue knocking.

Qiu Ci got up and opened the door, Tsukimi Rin was at the door: “Yue Yue said you’re so sick you can’t stand up?”
