84: Passing by the Business School

That little rascal, is that the reason she came up with?

“I asked her to tell you on my behalf, you guys go ahead and eat, I need to sleep now,” Qiu Ci said truthfully.

Tsukimi Rin hesitated, and finally said, “Then you sleep first, go to the kitchen if you’re hungry.”

After she left, Qiu Ci continued to lie down, gradually searching for sleepiness.

A very light sleep, half-dreaming and half-awake, was quickly disturbed by a knock on the door.

Qiu Ci recognized that it was Yue Yue based on the sound of the knock, and reluctantly got up to open the door.

“Uncle, I’m sorry, Mommy still came up,” Yue Yue blinked her innocent big eyes.

Qiu Ci couldn’t blame her, and rubbed his temples: “It’s okay, you play by yourself first, I need to sleep.”

Yue Yue looked up, full of longing, and said, “Then are we still going out to play tomorrow?”

“Yes, so you go to sleep first.” Being awake for so long made Qiu Ci very painful: “I really need to sleep, so don’t come again tonight, okay.”

Yue Yue nodded obediently and vigorously.

After making a fuss for a long time.

Qiu Ci was finally able to lie down quietly and sleep.

Before going to sleep, he also sent a message to Su Yuyang asking him to find a house to move into.

    It was too noisy tonight.

He closed his eyes to rest all night.

The next day, he appeared in front of Yue Yue with a lack of energy.

Children don’t have much observational skills, and were completely overwhelmed by the joy of going out, pulling Qiu Ci to leave.

“Stop,” Tsukimi Rin called from behind: “You’ve had breakfast, but Uncle hasn’t.”

Yue Yue looked at Qiu Ci with an unhappy expression.

“I’ll eat out, and come back after taking her for a walk,” he said to Tsukimi Rin.

    “Okay.”

Having received her mother’s approval, Yue Yue quickly opened the door and took Qiu Ci out.

In case she got left behind if they were any later.

After waiting for a while at the door, they saw Su Yuyang pull up in a luxury car: “Brother Qiu! Holy crap…” He was about to give Qiu Ci a sweet hug, but was startled by the little girl at his feet.

In confusion, he noticed that the girl looked somewhat similar to Qiu Ci: “This, this, this…”

“Tsukimi Rin gave birth to her sister’s child,” Qiu Ci explained to him in a low voice.

Su Yuyang then calmed down, and was a little disappointed. He thought it was Qiu Ci’s child. If it were Qiu Ci’s, it would mean that he had been doing well these past few years: “So this is why Tsukimi Rin called you back in a hurry?”

“Yes, Yue Yue, say hello to Uncle Su.”

Yue Yue gave a bright smile: “Hello, Uncle Su.”

“What a good kid, speaks Chinese so fluently, it’s a good thing she didn’t say ‘yamete’,” Su Yuyang ruffled her hair.

“I’ve been in Beijing all along,” Yue Yue explained herself.

Su Yuyang’s realization was very exaggerated: “Alright, Jing Grandpa, where do you want to go, just tell me the place, Brother Qiu.”

Qiu Ci pondered for a while: “Yue Yue, do you have any place you want to go?”

“I’ll follow you,” Yue Yue said sensibly.

Qiu Ci said to Su Yuyang in the driver’s seat, “Let’s go look at houses.”

“Ah, there’s a kid here, let’s do something interesting first, let’s take a spin around,” Su Yuyang started the car to leave: “What is there to do around here?” He was silent. This area was where Qiu Ci went to school, and the closest famous Parisian landmarks were in the 12th arrondissement.

There were some concerts and fashion shows, but the child might not like them.

“See a play?” Qiu Ci suggested, looking at little Yue Yue, unsure if the child would be able to sit still.

Yue Yue thought of what her mother had told her before she came out: “Don’t make trouble, keep Uncle company, and make Uncle happy too.”

Yue Yue nodded: “Okay, let’s go see a play.”

Su Yuyang drove over, it wasn’t far.

A four-year-old’s attention span is probably within half an hour.

At first, she was quiet while waiting, but soon after it started, Yue Yue began to fidget.

Seeing Qiu Ci watching so intently, Yue Yue endured for a while, but finally couldn’t help it: “Uncle, who is that person?”

    “Hamlet.”

    “Are we watching Hamlet?”

“Yes.” Qiu Ci was quite patient.

    “Is that person’s name Hamlet?”

    “Yes.”

“What is it about?” Yue Yue wiggled in her seat, looking restless.

In order not to disturb others later, Qiu Ci took Yue Yue out early.

Su Yuyang was enjoying analyzing the character designs and stage setup, and didn’t even notice that the big and small were already gone.

“Where do you want to go now?” Qiu Ci walked along the sidewalk, holding Yue Yue’s small hand.

Yue Yue swung her arms: “I don’t know, I’ll go with you.”

Nearby was the business school, so Qiu Ci asked Yue Yue again, “Do you want to go see the business school’s museum?”

Yue Yue nodded again: “Okay, okay.”

Now they had stumbled upon a place Qiu Ci was familiar with.

Eight or nine years and things hadn’t changed much, Qiu Ci explained everything to Yue Yue little by little, trying to use descriptions that children would like.

Yue Yue was very interested, and asked many questions, which Qiu Ci answered one by one.

When leaving the museum, Yue Yue said, “Uncle, you’re so nice, you’re much gentler than Mommy.”

It seemed that Tsukimi Rin often lectured her. Qiu Ci didn’t agree with this: “Mommy treats you as a very close person, so she wants to teach you a lot of things. Because there are too many things, it’s not like I can slowly explain them to you, so Mommy is more amazing.”

“But I don’t feel like I’ve learned anything from Mommy. Last year, I learned more from the teacher in kindergarten. I can play games, sing, and draw.” Yue Yue counted the things she learned with her fingers.

“That’s because Mommy taught you so well that you use them every day, so you don’t think you learned them. Think about it, speaking, eating, dressing, which one wasn’t taught by Mommy, right?”

Yue Yue thought for a while and nodded: “Is that so.” She seemed to understand, and after understanding, she looked up and saw a huge green sign: “What is that place?” Yue Yue pointed to the big sign.

“It’s a post office,” Qiu Ci replied.

“What does it do?” Yue Yue’s knowledge and age certainly didn’t understand this.

Qiu Ci continued to explain patiently: “People can write what they want to say to their friends on paper, then put it in a paper bag and seal it, and then put a valuable stamp on it, and write the address to send it to. Then take it to the post office, and they will send it to the post office in that place, and then they can go pick it up. After reading it, they can write another one to the other person. This is called a letter, the bag that contains it is an envelope, the ticket is a stamp, and the letter written back to the other person after reading the letter is called a reply.”

“Uncle, have you ever written a letter?”

    “Of course I have.”

“Have you also received a reply?” Yue Yue’s eyes were full of sincerity.

“I’ve received many, many replies.” Qiu Ci looked at the post office he used to go to every day, feeling somewhat dazed.

Yue Yue pulled him to go inside: “Let’s go, let’s see if anyone has written you a letter.”

“I haven’t been here for so many years, how could there be?” Qiu Ci still accompanied Yue Yue inside.

Making a fuss anywhere was still making a fuss.

The staff member in charge of mailing had a handlebar mustache, and hummed a song while counting today’s letters.
