BCGWR Chapter 11 Part 2
by BLReadsAs no one had any particular reaction, Han Ji-su’s facial muscles twitched. Even trying to smile, he couldn’t form a proper expression. A chilling Aura spread from the top of his head, and he felt as if all strength was draining from his body, forcing him to stand firm and resist.
“…Why… why are you all like this? You’re playing a prank again, aren’t you? We agreed not to play these kinds of pranks anymore…”
When he asked again, Jin Bo-ra finally spoke.
“…Han Ji-su, Guide… Kim Hyun-ah, Esper, and Jung Ha-jin, Esper, will be here soon…”
“…”
“Once they arrive, they will immediately re-enter and join, so Han Ji-su, Guide, please evacuate with the other Guides for now.”
“…”
Kim Hyun-ah, Esper. Jung Ha-jin, Esper. They were the only two SS-rank Espers in Korea.
Han Ji-su, who knew all too well what the arrival of those two meant, his gaze turned towards the blazing, dark-red Dungeon Gate.
The siren still echoed, and the sea wind was rough.
Han Ji-su, whose hands were trembling, gripping his fists tightly, asked in a terribly shaky voice.
“…Everyone didn’t… come out, did they? How many couldn’t make it out?”
To his question of how many were currently trapped inside that mutated Dungeon, this time, Lee Soo-bin, Healer, who had finished treatment, answered.
“Just Kang Jae-yoon, Esper.”
“!!!”
“Han Ji-su, Guide!”
“Squeak!!!”
For a moment, his legs gave out and he almost fell, but Jin Bo-ra, Esper, quickly supported Han Ji-su. Han Ji-su, with trembling hands, gripped Jin Bo-ra’s arm, which was firmly holding his waist, and asked.
“So right now… only Jae-yoon, my older brother… is trapped inside there… and can’t come out…?”
There was no answer to his simple question. Seeing Jin Bo-ra unable to answer immediately, Han Ji-su urgently asked again.
“Why? Everyone came out, so why didn’t my brother come out?”
Han Ji-su felt his heart might burst like this, and pressed his chest, trying to control his erratic breathing.
Jin Bo-ra, whose lips moved as if choosing her words for a moment, like an A-rank Esper, heard Han Ji-su’s unstable heartbeat, and spoke in a deliberately calm voice.
“During the Dungeon raid, an unexpected Rank anomaly occurred, so we immediately withdrew.”
“…”
“And… Kang Jae-yoon, Esper, said there was something he absolutely had to confirm, and as the team leader, he ordered the raid team to exit first and request support. Although we don’t know the reason, he said it was important and stayed behind voluntarily.”
“…Important work? What on earth could have been so important that…”
In a Dungeon, the raid team leader’s command was absolute. So, while he understood the situation where only the remaining personnel, excluding Kang Jae-yoon who ordered them to withdraw, had come out, he had no idea why Kang Jae-yoon had remained alone in an anomalous Rank Dungeon.
Why?
How?
What on earth did he need to know?
Since the one with the answer to this question was inside there, only question marks filled Han Ji-su’s mind. His stomach churned, and he felt dizzy. It felt as if his mind wasn’t working at all. Jin Bo-ra, seeing Han Ji-su growing paler and paler, spoke calmly in a composed voice.
“First, all monsters around the Dungeon Gate have been dealt with, and he said he would come out within 20 minutes. If he doesn’t come out within that time, Kim Hyun-ah, Esper, and Jung Ha-jin, Esper, will enter immediately. So, Han Ji-su, Guide, please evacuate on the next helicopter with Park Min-ah, Guide.”
When he turned his head at the firm recommendation to evacuate, he saw Guides among the Awakened and regular medical staff completing whatever measures they could and hastily evacuating.
Normally, waiting team Guides would remain outside the Dungeon and wait in shifts until it was cleared, not withdraw so urgently like this.
It was customary to provide maximum care for Espers re-entering the Dungeon, confirm their entry, and then retreat.
In other words, the current situation, like that dark-red Dungeon Gate seemingly dripping with blood, was absolutely not a normal one.
