BCGWR Chapter 17 Part 2
by BLReadsAt those words, Han Ji-su deactivated his transformation skill and returned to his original form. Toto also returned to his golden hamster form and scampered down Han Ji-su’s arm. Kim Hyun-ah watched Toto diligently wash his face with his tiny paws and continued speaking.
“For now, you’ll live with a roommate. I’ve told everyone outside that they’re your practical training supervisor, so you can lounge around here all you want, or if you get bored, you two can go for a walk or clear a D-rank or lower dungeon together.”
“Oh…”
“And since you’ve signed an L-rank confidentiality oath, you don’t necessarily have to transform when you two are alone in the Guild Dormitory.”
“Okay. What kind of person are they?”
“Someone trustworthy.”
Han Ji-su smiled faintly at the question, then sat comfortably beside Kim Hyun-ah and asked again.
“Of course they’re trustworthy if you’re introducing them, unnie. Not that. Is it someone I know?”
“Hmm… you probably don’t… know them?”
“Really? Who is it?”
Han Ji-su was curious about who would be by his side to care for him until he could control his Guiding himself. Though it was called ‘care,’ it was essentially close surveillance to ensure Han Ji-su took his prescription medication properly and didn’t do anything reckless, but he had no particular objection to it. It was because he had realized that his mind, which he had believed to be perfectly fine save for a little sadness, was in fact not whole. Since he now knew his situation had worsened to the point where he couldn’t even control his Guiding and that he needed help, there was no reason to refuse.
Kim Hyun-ah gazed at Han Ji-su’s face, which looked calmer than she expected, for a moment before answering in a low voice.
“Seong Ha-jin Esper.”
“…Huh? Seong Ha-jin?”
The name was very similar to Jung Ha-jin, the SS-rank Water-type Esper, so he unconsciously repeated the question, and Kim Hyun-ah spoke with a reluctant expression.
“Yes. Seong Ha-jin. You probably don’t know him. He was secretly active in a small guild in America for a while and only recently came back to Korea. I ‘kidnapped’ him for our guild as soon as he arrived.”
“…I see. Have you known him for a long time?”
“Yes. I’ve known him since I was little. So don’t worry too much.”
“…Okay.”
When Han Ji-su answered somewhat weakly, Kim Hyun-ah subtly raised the hand that was stroking Toto, gently brushed back Han Ji-su’s hair, and continued speaking.
“Anyway, Seong Ha-jin is an A-rank Esper, and I trust him, but I also assigned him as your roommate because he has a special skill.”
“A special skill? What is it?”
At the mention of a special skill, Han Ji-su and Toto’s ears perked up. Kim Hyun-ah noticed their reaction and vigorously stroked Toto again as she continued.
“It’s a skill that absorbs all your Radiating Guiding so it doesn’t spread to other Espers, even if you’re constantly leaking it.”
“…What?”
Han Ji-su’s eyes widened upon hearing the skill’s effect. Radiating Guiding, literally, was the act of scattering Guiding wildly like a sprinkler. In other words, just as everyone within the range of a sprinkler’s water stream gets wet, if there are Espers within the Guide’s radiating range, they all receive Guiding. He was naturally flustered because this was the first time he’d heard of a skill that could ignore this rule and monopolize it.
