BCGWR Chapter 38 Part 2
by BLReads‘Can’t I just keep that status window open and have messages scroll up like in a chat? This is more chaotic than I thought. I can’t even see previous conversations.’
Han Ji-su idly wiped his face a couple of times with a tissue, blew his stuffy nose, and straightened his clothes, but no new messages popped up.
Just as he was starting to get bored, a bluish message window appeared, but the message was shorter than expected.
[The God of Rest wishes for Han Ji-su to continue living healthily in the future. And finally, wishes for him to be happy in the end.]
“……”
Upon seeing that message, Han Ji-su instantly felt a chill spread from the top of his head. Perhaps due to the shock, his fingertips trembled.
The Patron bringing up a wish that he hadn’t even spoken aloud—no, a wish that hadn’t even fully formed in his own mind—turned Han Ji-su’s thoughts upside down.
He felt heat rush to his face and grew dizzy, as if a vulnerability he hadn’t known about himself had been pointed out and exposed. Perhaps sensing Han Ji-su’s state, a new message appeared.
[The ‘Patron’ God of Rest states that this wish is not his own, but was requested by a human. He says he incurred a great debt to a certain human long ago. And now, he frankly states that he has come to find his Protégé as that human wished, in order to repay that debt.]
“……Who is that person?”
[The ‘Patron’ God of Rest gazes silently at Han Ji-su.]
“……Who is it? Tell me……”
[The ‘Patron’ God of Rest states that he cannot specifically tell Han Ji-su whose wish this is. However, the Protégé already knows the answer to who wishes for his happiness.]
“Ha……”
Hearing the God of Rest’s answer, Han Ji-su could not ask further.
As it had been all this time, only one person came to mind. The moment he was certain who wished for his happiness, his vision blurred.
‘Crying takes a lot of energy too……’
He thought he had cried all his tears and there would be no more, but he was mistaken.
The renewed crying was even harder to stop than before. Thanks to it, Han Ji-su needed a considerable amount of time to calm down.
During that time, the God of Rest did not leave, occasionally sending clumsy messages of comfort to Han Ji-su. Perhaps he didn’t know that kind words offered to someone crying could backfire, for he also seemed flustered, asking why Han Ji-su was crying even more.
After a much longer time than before, Han Ji-su finally calmed down, but was now so devoid of strength that he lay sprawled in mid-air, gazing up at the endlessly white expanse, swallowing hard.
Perhaps because he had cried so much, his ears felt muffled as if he had been on an airplane, even though he hadn’t. Just as he was feeling the limits of his stamina, a new pop-up appeared.
[The ‘Patron’ God of Rest asks if there is anything else he is curious about.]
“……Why don’t you answer what I asked earlier before you ask me?”
[The ‘Patron’ God of Rest touches his forehead, stating that he has already explained why he cannot answer.]
Upon seeing that message, Han Ji-su sniffled and pouted.
