BCGWR Chapter 4 Part 2
by BLReads“That would be great, thank you. I don’t have any plans today anyway. Let’s have dinner together.”
“That’s not a bad idea… No, wait. I thought I saw your name on the scheduler earlier?”
“Haha, really? That’s strange. I shouldn’t have any other plans today?”
Kang Jae-yoon, who replied with a bright smile, picked up his cellphone with the hand not intertwined with Ji-su’s.
Ji-su thought he was checking his schedule, but seeing him tap the screen repeatedly while tilting it at an angle where Ji-su couldn’t see, it seemed like he was sending a message.
‘…Wait. He’s not canceling a schedule, is he?’
Of course, Ji-su hadn’t seen the screen, so there was no concrete evidence, but recalling Kang Jae-yoon’s past behavior, it somehow seemed likely.
As Ji-su suspected, Kang Jae-yoon checked the “urgent business, unable to attend” box for an important meeting that would be held after the penalty lecture, and then deleted the schedule. Next to him, Ji-su pursed his lips and watched him with suspicion, but Kang Jae-yoon, as if in a good mood, turned up the corners of his mouth and asked,
“What do you want to eat? I’ll make a reservation.”
“…Just anything non-spicy, and a restaurant where Toto can come along.”
Thanks to Taming Skills and items, companion monster culture had already taken root three years ago, but there were still not many restaurants where companion monsters were allowed.
Kang Jae-yoon looked at the bag where the hamster, who showed separation anxiety and obsession only towards Han Ji-su, was sleeping, and asked.
“If you’re that worried, do you want to come to Busan with me?”
“Is that okay?”
“What’s wrong with that? Perfect. Let’s go together. You can see the sea that Ji-su likes after a long time, and while I’m clearing the dungeon, you and Toto can rest well at the hotel before heading back up.”
“…Anyway, I’ll be off for two days starting tomorrow, but…”
Depending on the Dungeon Rank and difficulty, usually one or two days off were granted after clearing a dungeon, which was one of the Peace Guild’s welfare benefits.
In Ji-su’s case, he had come to the Guild today for penalty training, but since he had two days off automatically registered starting tomorrow, the suggestion was quite tempting. Still, something was bothering him.
“I’m fine with it, but… are you sure you really don’t have a schedule today?”
“Yes, I don’t.”
“…”
He answered, completely omitting the part about having had one just a moment ago but having gotten rid of it, but perhaps due to his past track record, Han Ji-su’s eyes narrowed even further.
“If you have an important schedule today…”
Just as Ji-su was about to say not to cancel another schedule because of him, the training supervisor entered with an external lecturer.
Thanks to that, Kang Jae-yoon naturally turned his gaze forward and sat up. Seeing his reaction, Ji-su felt certain that he definitely had a schedule today, but he decided to stop questioning him, thinking that if he canceled it, it couldn’t have been a particularly important one.
Ji-su, who had decided not to think deeply about it, still held Kang Jae-yoon’s hand and looked forward. Even while the new lecturer explained the course content and gave a brief introduction, Ji-su continued Guiding.
The content of the penalty lecture was all pretty much the same anyway, so it was enough to just pretend to concentrate while looking forward. Kang Jae-yoon, who was a supervisory observer rather than a penalty subject, also looked forward, not letting go of Ji-su’s intertwined hand.
