BCGWR Chapter 48 Part 2
by BLReadsThis hand must have done a lot. How much it must have hurt. It would have been better if such scars hadn’t appeared in the first place. Even knowing it was something he couldn’t control, the Guide’s instinctive empathy for the Esper surged, and all sorts of regrettable thoughts flooded his mind.
Han Ji-su couldn’t feel at all if he was Guiding well or controlling it properly. He knew this was due to overload, but it still upset him.
What if he couldn’t control it properly even when a truly crucial moment arrived? It was a premature worry, but as he gently held Jung Ha-jin’s hand with a somewhat uneasy heart and looked up, Han Ji-su was certain that his worries until now had been unfounded.
Jung Ha-jin’s expression was still as stoic and devoid of humor as usual, but his lips were firmly pressed into a straight line. His face hadn’t changed color at all, but the parts exposed outside his shirt, from his ears and neck down to his collarbones, were very red.
Furthermore, veins were bulging on his neck and his other arm that wasn’t being held. When he breathed, his chest expanded much more than usual, suggesting he was trying to control his breathing to keep it steady.
“…How is it now? Am I doing well with contact Guiding, not Radiating Guiding?”
In truth, just seeing his reaction was as good as getting an answer, but Han Ji-su specifically wanted to hear it from him. It wasn’t for any other reason or a mischievous prank. He simply needed reassurance that he was doing it correctly right now.
As a Guide, his instincts urged him to understand and comfort Jung Ha-jin, and he wanted to know if that feeling had reached him well, and ultimately, if this Esper was accepting his Guiding in that way.
Jung Ha-jin, who had been looking at the hand he offered to Ji-su, slowly lifted his gaze. Then, he opened his firmly closed lips and replied in a voice even lower than usual.
“Yes. I’ve always felt it, but it’s a very soft, warm, and energy-replenishing Guiding.”
It was a more positive evaluation than he had expected. Ji-su, having received a satisfactory answer, still holding Jung Ha-jin’s hand, spoke in a small voice.
“That’s a relief. Um, and Esper Jung Ha-jin. Let’s go out together later.”
“Yes, that’s good. Where are you planning to go?”
“I want to meet someone. Oh, and if you could give me my phone, that would be great. Don’t worry, I’m quite resilient even if the media attacks me.”
“…….”
Jung Ha-jin, aside from the media, wanted to prevent Han Ji-su from seeing the internet, which was in an uproar because of a Youtuber’s clickbait, so instead of explaining in detail, he subtly changed the subject and asked.
“I see. Who is the person you wish to meet?”
“Well, everyone will have a schedule, so I’ll contact them first, and meet whoever is available.”
This meant it wasn’t just one or two people, and Jung Ha-jin roughly guessed the list of people Han Ji-su wanted to meet, but he patiently waited for what would come next.
