BFET Chapter 30

Question and Answer
Xie Yi rarely felt like he was truly angry.
But at this moment, he genuinely felt a surge of anger rapidly rising from the bottom of his heart, as if he couldn’t control it, and a short breath escaped from his nostrils.
Then, he clenched his fist and moved his wrist, suppressing his emotions as he slowly retorted, “Do you think I want to guess?”
Leaning against the wall, Shen Shu’s gaze remained fixed on Xie Yi’s face, carefully tracing his subtly changing expression. Now, as Xie Yi was about to make a move, he finally seemed to have admired enough and slowly opened his mouth, “Don’t be nervous.”
“It’s just ordinary glucose.” He raised his hand and tossed the syringe in his hand towards Xie Yi, watching him catch it and immediately turn it over to look at the syringe. He then added with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, “I’m not as heartless as the Captain, liking to give people powerful sedatives in inappropriate situations.”
Xie Yi, holding the syringe, paused upon hearing this.
He frowned and looked up at Shen Shu, a bizarre thought suddenly popping into his head: did this person create this scene because of that sedative back in Jiangbei?
The thought was too absurd, and Xie Yi subconsciously felt he was overthinking it.
However, at this moment, he met Shen Shu’s gaze and saw the undisguised joy of achieving his purpose in the other’s eyes.
This absurd thought was actually true!
Xie Yi’s expression instantly became strange. The previously surging anger suddenly blocked his chest, neither rising nor falling, like a wad of cotton stuffed inside.
After a long while, he finally couldn’t help but curse, “Are you sick?”
“You also know it’s inappropriate?” Xie Yi said coldly, “If you hadn’t gone crazy and refused to leave, I wouldn’t have had to waste that sedative.”
Shen Shu “oh-ed” and the joy he had from successfully messing with Xie Yi faded from his eyes. He tilted his head to look at the person a few steps away from him, “I told you, don’t interfere with me.”
“I should thank you for preparing that sedative specifically for me.”
“?” Xie Yi, who had been hearing the first half of the sentence and starting to get angry again, now felt like he had heard some kind of joke, “You think that sedative was prepared specifically for you?”
Under the dim light.
Shen Shu crossed his arms, the corners of his mouth forming a straight line. The cluster amaryllis on his left cheek swayed silently, and his pale eyes stared straight at Xie Yi, filled with malice and indifference.
At this moment, he had completely torn off the layer of gentleness he had worn for two months, revealing his true self underneath.
Being stared at like this was somewhat uncomfortable.
The anger that had been stirred up in Xie Yi quietly cooled down. His briefly derailed rationality returned, and he heavily exhaled, “I don’t know why you have such a strange idea about this sedative, but this sedative was prepared for myself, not for you.”
After saying that, Xie Yi turned and walked towards the door.
When he reached the door, he reached out to push it, but unexpectedly, it didn’t budge.
His face instantly turned ugly.
The door of the isolation chamber cannot be opened from the inside, and there is signal interference in here, which means he can’t even use his smart terminal to contact someone to open the door.
He could only wait for someone outside to come.
Xie Yi silently faced the closed metal door for a moment, closed his eyes, and then turned around. Ignoring the gaze that had been following him like a shadow, he didn’t even look at Shen Shu and went straight to the only bed in the isolation chamber for resting.
He took it without ceremony.
The isolation chamber fell into a sudden silence.
After an unknown amount of time, a burst of footsteps suddenly sounded.
The sound grew closer and closer, stopping by the bed. Xie Yi, who was sitting on the bed with his eyes closed to rest, opened his eyes, and then watched Shen Shu sit down on the edge of the bed, turning his head to look at him.
The two stared at each other silently for a few seconds, and Shen Shu suddenly asked, “Why did you prepare a sedative for yourself? And a powerful sedative specifically for pollution-induced loss of control.”
“Are you afraid of losing control? Like that time when you came back from Fengjiang.”
Xie Yi looked at him coldly, without answering.
Shen Shu was not in a hurry, his eyes fixed on Xie Yi’s gaze without wavering.
At this moment, he had restrained the malice and indifference that had previously overflowed, becoming calm. His pale eyes enveloped Xie Yi’s figure, appropriately revealing a hint of confusion.
After a long while, Xie Yi suddenly opened his mouth, “Want to know?”
He raised his chin at Shen Shu and continued, “An answer for an answer.”
Probably because it was the first time someone had made this kind of exchange with him, Shen Shu found it a bit novel. After hesitating for only a second, he said, “What do you want to ask? Those things from before?”
Xie Yi didn’t say yes or no, but instead went straight to the point, “When you were in Jiangbei, the voice you said was constantly calling you, was it a curse?”
Shen Shu uh-ed, “It should be.”
Xie Yi frowned, “Should be?”
Shen Shu: “If you hadn’t knocked me out at the time, the answer I would give you now would be a definite yes.”
Xie Yi: “…”
Seeing Xie Yi’s speechless look, Shen Shu felt a little happy, “It’s your turn to answer me, Captain.”
Xie Yi subtly rolled his eyes at him, “I didn’t prepare the sedative because I’m afraid of losing control. Although my ability is an easy-to-lose-control risk level, it is controllable for me within a normal range.”
Shen Shu pressed, “So you prepared the sedative for loss of control outside the normal range?”
Xie Yi said with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, “That’s your second question.”
Shen Shu tactfully gestured towards Xie Yi, inviting him to speak.
Xie Yi: “What are the voices you heard saying?”
“Many, and very noisy.” Shen Shu lowered his eyes, “Most of them are not very clear, just constantly calling me to go over.”
Saying this, he paused. Just as Xie Yi thought he was going to gloss over it again, he heard him slowly say, “That voice calls me a kin, a kin of the god.”
Kin of the god?
Xie Yi’s pupils shrank slightly. Was this the reason why the cursed insect kept chasing after him at that time?
Its god, the god of these monsters, what kind of god is it?
Did it want to take Shen Shu away because of this? But why didn’t it directly attack from the beginning?
If not, then what was its purpose?
One question was answered, and new questions emerged one after another.
Xie Yi almost instinctively wanted to press for answers, but he quickly calmed down.
This was clearly something that Shen Shu didn’t know either, otherwise he wouldn’t have wanted to find and approach that cursed insect at the time.
Moreover, that explosion didn’t kill the cursed insect. From the time he fainted until they returned to Kui City, the cursed insect didn’t reappear to try to take Shen Shu away.
“Captain.”
Xie Yi came back to his senses and saw Shen Shu staring at him, “It’s your turn.”
Xie Yi closed his eyes to restrain his somewhat chaotic thoughts. When he opened them again, he said, “The sedative is because I want to master the release state. This is a special state of my ability, which can absorb pollution exceeding my own tolerance to form a benign cycle, which is to turn the loss of control outside the normal range you just mentioned into controllable.”
