E-Sports Boss Wants To Post Messages With New Players Every Day Chapter 1
byChapter 1
It was nearly noon. Sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains onto the wooden floor, and fine dust motes floated in the air.
Xu Ziyan turned over, groggily opening his eyes. First, he felt a wave of soreness wash over his entire body. Then, the chaotic memories of the previous night flooded back. His face flushed crimson, and he sprang from the bed as if launched by a spring.
On the other side of the large bed lay a tall, muscular man, covered by a thin blanket that concealed most of the evidence. Disturbed by Xu Ziyan’s movement, the man slightly furrowed his brow, but showed no immediate signs of waking up.
Seeing that he was still asleep, Xu Ziyan breathed a sigh of relief, though his heart pounded faster and faster, drumming in his ears. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he took a difficult step forward, leaning in to look at the man’s face.
From his angle, he could only see a sharply defined profile. The man had deep-set features and handsome looks. A subtle coldness emanated from his lightly furrowed brows. His nose was high and straight, his thin lips pressed together. There was a small cut on his philtrum, a souvenir of Xu Ziyan’s actions last night.
After clearly seeing the man’s face, Xu Ziyan’s knees went weak. He reached a trembling hand back to feel the Gland on the nape of his neck.
A clear, unmistakable tooth mark shattered his last shred of hope. Xu Ziyan’s face alternated between white and red, and a desperate thought echoed in his mind: It’s all over.
He, a mere Youth Training Camp Member, had been audacious enough to devour the Top Alpha Captain.
How exactly had things escalated to this point?
Xu Ziyan squatted on the floor, clutching his head, struggling to recall the events.
—
Last night.
Past ten o’clock, the night in A City had settled into a deep crimson-purple hue. It was the dead of winter, the cold wind desolate, yet the TWG Esports Club Resist Division remained brightly lit.
In the Youth Training Camp on the first floor, a solitary figure sat before a blue-lit computer screen. Xu Ziyan gripped his mouse, anxiously refreshing the current webpage.
The time in the bottom right corner of the screen ticked forward, and finally, the webpage content changed.
His eyes lit up. He quickly scrolled the mouse wheel, pulling the page all the way to the bottom.
After skimming past a pile of useless platitudes, three stark, blood-red characters appeared before him: “Not Approved.”
“…Dear Player Xu Ziyan, after our rigorous assessment, we believe you still have some minor deficiencies as a professional player, and therefore reject your application to join the team this time… Damn it! Why is it always the same excuse!”
Xu Ziyan frustratedly ran his hands through his hair, closed the webpage, and fell into deep self-doubt as he stared at his Top 100 in China Server ranking on the game interface.
The Top 100 in China Server isn’t good enough to be a substitute player for your team?
I even routinely crush your A-Team Assault Player in Ranked Match!
He took off his headset and tossed it aside, collapsing backward onto the gaming chair as if all strength had left him.
Just then, footsteps sounded in the hallway. The training room door opened, and in walked a teammate from the Youth Training Camp who had been “left behind” with him. Seeing Xu Ziyan, a hint of surprise crossed his face: “Ice, you’re still training? Didn’t you go to the celebration banquet?”
The TWG A-Team had just won the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI). The Coach and manager were so happy they declared a general amnesty. The entire base was given a day off, and tonight they had booked a venue in Huating for a feast and celebration, all expenses paid by the team.
Xu Ziyan shook his head listlessly: “I didn’t go.”
His teammate sensed his low spirits and roughly guessed what had happened. He offered comfort: “Don’t overthink it. You’re still young, and you have the skill. If TWG doesn’t work out, there are plenty of other teams that want you.”
Xu Ziyan lowered his head, not responding. He wanted to stay at TWG, and only at TWG. Otherwise, given his proud nature, he wouldn’t be stubbornly fighting for a spot here.
“However…” his teammate changed the subject, suddenly lowering his voice, “If you want to stay, there might actually be another way.”
Hearing this, Xu Ziyan’s heart, which had plummeted to the bottom, floated back up. He snapped his head up: “What?”
His teammate smiled mysteriously: “This is just something I heard, cough, cough, listen, Ice, don’t get mad, okay?”
Xu Ziyan nodded.
“This is something I heard from other friends about another team!” After repeatedly distancing himself from the matter, the teammate finally got to the point: “I heard that there was an Omega who used their looks to hook up with an Alpha on the team and successfully used the back door to become a Main Roster Player!”
Xu Ziyan froze for a moment.
His teammate saw the change in his expression and thought he felt offended or upset, so he quickly tried to salvage the situation: “Haha, I was just saying! There are differences between Omegas and Omegas, right? Anyway, I need to grab my power bank. I’m heading out now.”
The teammate hurriedly slipped away. Xu Ziyan sat back down in front of the computer, the words his teammate had spoken echoing in his mind for a long time.
God, he must be crazy.
The moment he heard those words, Xu Ziyan’s first reaction wasn’t to condemn or feel disgusted. What flashed in his mind was the face of the team captain, Xie Wei.
