E-Sports Boss Wants To Post Messages With New Players Every Day Chapter 13
byChapter 13
In the A-Team training room, Xie Wei paid no further attention to the screen after clicking confirm, only shifting his gaze back once the game began.
He was never one to focus on his Ranked teammates. Moreover, as a Sniper, he was a lone wolf. Unless the team desperately needed a commander, Xie Wei mostly remained silent and acted as a rogue, doing whatever he pleased.
This match was a Domination mode, with the random map set in Irish Town, a coastal village of blue roofs and white walls.
The map’s feature was its winding alleys, not to mention the small houses players could duck into for cover. Since the architecture was indestructible, the map felt like a guerrilla war—you never knew when someone would suddenly pop out from a corner or a house and spray you with a burst of bullets.
Visibility on this map was poor, meaning it was very unfriendly to Snipers.
High-ground sniping spots, such as the clock tower, did exist, but compared to those who could move freely and hide inside houses, a Sniper standing exposed in a high spot was practically a sitting duck.
Xie Wei wasn’t worried about this at all. Slinging his sniper rifle, he lazily said, “Leave the enemy Sniper to me, OK? You guys handle the front line.”
The other teammates, having recognized Xie Wei’s ID, quickly agreed. One Assault Player even volunteered, “God Xie, I’ll handle the commanding this round. You’re free to roam.”
Xie Wei smiled. “Sounds good.”
The Medic and the other Assault Player remained silent, clearly accepting this arrangement.
As the preparation time ended, Xie Wei was about to move when his sleeve was suddenly tugged from behind. His steps paused, and then a healing syringe appeared in his hand.
He was stunned.
Healing syringes, when used in combat, instantly restore all health. They are the Medic’s exclusive healing method, with only two available for the entire game, making them extremely precious.
In Irish Town, a Sniper’s survival rate was indeed worrying, and due to his positioning, it would be difficult for the Medic to look after him. But receiving a healing syringe right at the start of the game was a first for Xie Wei.
He looked up at the game ID of the Medic in front of him.
Ice.
It was Xu Ziyan.
…What was this, special treatment?
Was it because of their relationship, or simply because he trusted his ability?
The more Xie Wei thought, the more confused he became. After a moment of hesitation, he said nothing, gripping the syringe tightly before quickly leaving with his sniper rifle slung over his shoulder.
Behind him, Xu Ziyan let out a deep sigh of relief.
Heaven knew how nervous he was when handing over the syringe, terrified that Xie Wei would refuse him, and even more afraid that Xie Wei would question why he did it.
Xu Ziyan had to admit he had a selfish motive.
If it were any other Sniper, he wouldn’t care about their life or death. But this wasn’t anyone else; it was Xie Wei.
A Top-Tier Alpha’s Temporary Marking period for an Omega lasts a full three months, meaning he was still Xie Wei’s Omega.
Wasn’t it only natural to give his Alpha some special treatment in Ranked Match?
Xu Ziyan lowered his head and pulled up his hood, concealing his flushed ears.
Resist differs from other competitive games in that players cannot use different characters for combat. They can only select their weapons during the preparation time before the game starts, choosing one primary and one secondary weapon. The types of weapons available vary by class.
Xie Wei chose a heavy sniper rifle and a pistol.
Xu Ziyan usually chose at least one means of attack, but today, after a moment of hesitation, he selected a healing gun and an armor pack.
Stepping out of the safe zone, gunshots were already ringing out from all directions due to the delay at the start. The contested point this round was the Holy Church on the right. In front of the church was a fountain and a statue, along with a rose-filled courtyard and a long corridor.
On the other side of the corridor was the ocean, with dark waves rolling in. Falling in meant an immediate respawn countdown, making it extremely dangerous.
The location of the contested point directly determined the focus of the battle. Xu Ziyan kept his steps light, agilely leaping over obstacles, and accurately tossing an armor pack to the Assault Player charging at the front while tucked behind a wall. Only then did he pick up his healing gun and unhurriedly begin topping up health.
The reason for such caution was simple: the protection a Medic provides in Resist is too high, and since this Domination mode rewards whoever survives the longest, whichever side kills the Medic first gains a huge advantage.
Xu Ziyan didn’t want to lose, especially not in a game with Xie Wei, so his positioning was extra careful.
His movement and execution were extremely skilled, and he was highly familiar with the map. Moving while retreating, winding through corners, even when reloading, he would crouch down and use cover. His level of caution gave the enemy Sniper a massive headache, who cursed the Medic for playing so sneakily.
Sneaky or not, there was no other way. After all, a Medic’s combat power is very weak, especially since Xu Ziyan was running a pure healing loadout. If he were headshot by a Sniper, it would be an instant kill, leaving no chance to struggle.
Soon, the person targeting Xu Ziyan changed.
A rapid sound of footsteps came from the alley behind him, followed by the appearance of an enemy Assault Player carrying an assault rifle right behind Xu Ziyan.
As a Medic, Xu Ziyan was already accustomed to such “attention.” Without a word, he immediately threw a smoke grenade. Just as he was about to run deeper into the alley, intending to rely on movement and surprise attacks to wear down the Assault Player as usual, a low command suddenly came through his headset: “Get out.”
Xu Ziyan froze, but his body moved faster than his thoughts. By the time he reacted, he had already turned and run toward the small plaza on the other side.
Stumbling out of the smoke, Xu Ziyan side-rolled and took cover behind a flower bed at the edge of the plaza. This only blocked the enemy Sniper’s line of sight; it did nothing to help him evade the pursuing Assault Player.
Within a few seconds, the enemy Assault Player also rushed out of the smoke. Xu Ziyan tightly shut his eyes, practically bracing himself for death and respawn.
However, the next moment, a deafening boom echoed across the entire battlefield. A bullet tore through the air, followed by an almost inaudible “thwack.”
Xu Ziyan opened his eyes. The Assault Player, who had been so menacing moments before, swayed and gradually dissolved into light particles. A respawn countdown appeared in their former position: 30, 29, 28…
He widened his eyes slightly, his heart pounding wildly in his ears.
It was Xie Wei.
