    Chapter Index

The cost of a ticket was only a few thousand at most, which was nothing to a player like Shen Xiao, whose annual worth was in the tens of millions. However, the feeling of being taken advantage of still made him grit his teeth for a while, and the sound of his keyboard during Ranked Match became noticeably louder.

Yuan Shaofeng and Bai Chen naturally had no objection to Shen Xiao’s generous offer to treat them to the match. However, Yuan Shaofeng was confused by Shen Xiao’s visibly annoyed demeanor as he tormented his Ranked Match opponents. He quietly asked Xu Ziyan, “What’s wrong with God Xiao?”

Xu Ziyan replied, “He’s happy that you agreed to watch the match with him.”

    Yuan Shaofeng: “…Is that so?”

He didn’t look happy at all.

At ten o’clock in the evening, Resist shut down for an update, which was scheduled to last until the afternoon of the next day. This gave the players a brief official break. Xu Ziyan finished his Ranked Match, stretched with a big yawn, and glanced at his phone. Just as he was about to turn and look for Xie Wei, he noticed the man hadn’t moved. He was still sitting in his seat, one hand resting on his lips, the screen repeatedly playing the recording of the match he had just played.

    Xu Ziyan quietly walked closer.

It was still a solo mode match, and the map was Gasvinia, the same map he had played during his rookie tournament.

The circle in this match was extremely favorable, shrinking to the edge of a large building. Only the high platform where Xie Wei was positioned remained in the safe zone; the rest was flat beach.

On the screen, the Sniper lying prone on the high platform calmly healed himself to full health, then slowly loaded the bullets one by one into the chamber.

Then he set up his shot and aimed down the scope.

The sound of the heavy sniper rifle echoed over the entire coastal city, carrying a force that seemed to tear through the air, almost drowning out all the noise below.

    One shot, two shots…

Beautiful flick shots, almost all headshots.

The people below gradually realized something was wrong and began to hide behind the rocks. But their opponent was not just Xie Wei standing high above, but also the enemies close at hand.

In this match, Xie Wei naturally secured first place without any hindrance.

Xu Ziyan watched everything on the screen with rapt attention, suppressing the excitement that was nearly leaping out of his chest. He swallowed hard.

It was because of this scene that he had fallen hopelessly in love with Xie Wei and embarked on the path of esports.

But unlike Xu Ziyan, Xie Wei, who had executed all these moves, was expressionless at the moment. He looked down slightly, silently counting the subtle differences in his recent actions.

The Assault Player by the wall—he should have dealt with him more decisively.

The moving target by the rock—he had misjudged the prediction, otherwise, he could have scored more points in this match…

    “Captain?”

The recording had stopped, and the young man’s slightly confused voice sounded from behind him.

Xie Wei snapped out of his thoughts. He didn’t rush to get up. Instead, he leaned back, the gaming chair sliding a short distance from the desk. He looked up, smiled, and patted his lap. “Come here.”

Only the two of them were left in the training room. Although Xu Ziyan was shy, he didn’t refuse. He walked over and sat on Xie Wei’s lap.

Xie Wei held his waist steadily, pulling the young man into his embrace. A faint scent of strawberry cotton candy, which only he could detect, permeated his nostrils. Combined with the warm body temperature of the person in his arms, it greatly soothed his tense nerves.

He buried his face in the young man’s neck, took a deep breath, and sighed contentedly. “Yanyan, why do you smell so good?”

Xu Ziyan instinctively grabbed Xie Wei’s shoulder, then realized something. A look of awkwardness and shyness crossed his face. He whispered, “Let’s go back to the dorm first.”

Xie Wei chuckled, his expression calm, as if the person currently pressed against Xu Ziyan wasn’t him. Narrowing his eyes, he lowered his voice, mimicking the young man, and said coaxingly, “It’s fine, no one is coming. The surveillance is under my control too… Look, it’s all turned off.”

Xu Ziyan lowered his eyes to look in the direction Xie Wei was pointing, but before his eyes could catch more than a vague shadow, the Alpha forcefully pulled him closer and sucked on his lips.

He wanted to push Xie Wei away, but his hands pressed against the hard chest were powerless.

Xie Wei smiled, casually locked the training room door, and focused on kissing the Omega in his arms. His raised fingers were already resting on the zipper of the young man’s team uniform.

    Just then.

In the hallway, footsteps approached, and then the training room door was rattled.

The person outside seemed to realize it was locked and let out a confused “Huh?”

    It was Shen Xiao.

Xu Ziyan instantly sobered up, his eyes filled with panic.

Xie Wei closed his eyes, gently patting the young man’s back to reassure him. He spoke with impatience, “What is it?”

“Captain Xie? Why did you lock the door?” Shen Xiao scratched his head in confusion. “Oh, I forgot my keyboard. I came back to get it.”

“Do you have a spare one in the dorm?”

    “I do, but…”

    “Then use the spare one.”

Shen Xiao opened his mouth, wanting to say more, but then he sensed the implicit warning in Xie Wei’s last sentence. He hesitated, then wisely withdrew his hand from the doorknob. “Okay then…”

He didn’t absolutely need his own keyboard anyway; he was just playing a mini-game with a few streamer friends. Any keyboard would do.

He just didn’t understand why Captain Xie was so angry…

He turned and left, full of questions, and sniffed.

He wondered if it was his imagination, but he thought he smelled a very faint scent outside the training room door, something sweet yet slightly sour.

    Cotton candy? Or maybe lime.

Shen Xiao tilted his head, not thinking much of it. He opened Line to tell his streamer friends and hurried back to the dorm.

After driving away the nuisance, Xie Wei lowered his head, intending to continue, but Xu Ziyan was a little startled and tried to evade him. “Captain…”

“Don’t be afraid.” Xie Wei’s grip was gentle but firm as he held the young man’s slender neck, placing a kiss on the Gland at the back of his neck. “Don’t run.”

Xu Ziyan closed his eyes, and truly stopped resisting.

Xu Ziyan leaned back, half-lying in the gaming chair, his body feeling numb. He looked down at the Alpha who was bending over to tidy his clothes, and whispered, “Captain, why have you been playing solo mode so much lately?”

Xie Wei zipped up his team uniform. His movement paused at the question, then he smiled faintly. “To maintain my form.”

“For a Sniper to practice mobility and accuracy, solo mode is the best choice.”

Xu Ziyan inexplicably recalled the training match where Xie Wei, unable to solo kill Lin, had blurted out, “My fault.”

Despite his worry, he hesitated, then simply smiled and nodded, choosing not to say anything more.

They didn’t need to wake up early the next day, so they slept together in Xie Wei’s room.

The next day, at one in the afternoon, the A-Team gathered in the training room on time.

Xu Ziyan secretly yawned. When he looked up, he saw a strange Beta standing in the training room besides Yu Guangzhou and the Data Analyst. He was a little chubby, round-headed, and smiling, looking very friendly and easy to get along with.

Though he said strange… he actually looked familiar.

Xu Ziyan stared at him for a while, and suddenly realized.

Wasn’t this the person who had driven Xie Wei back to the villa during his Rut Period a few months ago, the first time he had encountered Xie Wei?

Jiang Yuxin happened to look over and smiled, greeting him. “Hello, Ice. I’m Jiang Yuxin, the manager of TWG. We’ve greeted each other before. I was away on a business trip when you joined the team, so this is the first time we’ve met in person.”

Xu Ziyan nodded. He had indeed exchanged a few messages with Jiang Yuxin on Line. Online, the man seemed quite polite.

Before this thought could fade, Jiang Yuxin suddenly changed his tone, winking at him. “Ahem, I heard you and Shining are together. Is it true? How did you do it? Can you tell me about your dating process? Hey, how did you two meet in the first place… Ouch!”

He clutched his head and turned angrily to Yu Guangzhou. “What’s wrong? I’ve been away on business for the team for so long, enduring the wind and sun, and missed so much exciting drama. Why am I not allowed to ask about it now that I’m back?”

Although his relationship with Xie Wei was already common knowledge within the A-Team, being pointed out so directly still made Xu Ziyan feel a little hot in the face.

The manager… was he really like this?

He picked up the water cup next to him and took a sip, only to meet Yuan Shaofeng’s face, which was filled with disbelief and shock.

Yuan Shaofeng stammered, “Ice… you, you and God Xie… you two?”

He had heard some rumors online before, but he hadn’t taken them seriously.

Yet, here the main parties were, confirming what he had thought was nonsense.

Yuan Shaofeng then looked toward Xie Wei.

He saw that God Xie, whom he considered unreachable, aloof, and practically asexual, was slightly turning his head to talk to the Data Analyst. This movement happened to expose a small red mark on the side of his neck.

    It was clearly a hickey.

He looked back at Xu Ziyan, trembling. The young man was scratching his face, smiling shyly, the Scent Blocker on the back of his neck particularly conspicuous.

Yuan Shaofeng said heartbrokenly, “Didn’t you say your partner was in a long-distance relationship?”

Xu Ziyan gave a dry laugh. “I was just making it up.”

Yuan Shaofeng felt numb. “All trust between people is gone.”

He lowered his head, muttering in disbelief, “Oh my god, oh my god. Live long enough and you really see everything.”

Shen Xiao watched Yuan Shaofeng’s distraught look from across the table and felt a strong sense of empathy.

He had felt the same way when he first found out. However, everyone else looked so nonchalant and took it for granted that Shen Xiao even started to doubt himself, wondering if he was overreacting.

At two in the afternoon, Resist finished updating on time.

Without Yu Guangzhou needing to say anything, everyone consciously logged into the client.

Xu Ziyan didn’t rush to start a Ranked Match. Instead, he first opened the professional skill introduction at the top.

    Medic: Initial Health 200.

Primary Weapon (Choose one): [Healing Rifle] [Healing Sniper Rifle]

Secondary Weapon (Choose two): [Healing Vial] [Pistol] [Armor Pack] [Taser] [Smoke Grenade]

He carefully reread the descriptions of all the weapons, then slowly exhaled.

The excitement in his heart could no longer be suppressed.

The new version, his version, had finally officially begun.
