Episode 10 #2. So What About Secondary Gender? (5)

Han Seong-cheol had never truly been dissatisfied with his position. The umbrella of the Dae-yeong Group, which had sheltered him since birth, was large, wide, and comfortable.

With his much older brother designated as the next successor, he never had to endure tiresome education. Seong-cheol merely had to play, eat, and enjoy himself.

His cousins greatly envied Seong-cheol. It seemed they believed that no matter how thoughtlessly Seong-cheol lived, his father, the Chairman, and his brother, the future Chairman, would surely grant him a few subsidiaries. They felt that they were different from Seong-cheol, as they had to constantly rub their hands together before their grandfather, their uncle, and even their older cousins just to get a few crumbs of benefit.

Except for having to mind his grandfather and father, there was nothing Seong-cheol couldn’t do as he pleased. The moment the possibility of his Alpha manifestation appeared, Seong-cheol became even more unrestrained in his actions.

In other words, a high school student from a backwater like this could be crushed with just a flick of his finger. Seong-cheol could not tolerate such a pathetic person constantly getting on his nerves and irritating him for much longer.

    “You’ve worked hard.”

The soundproofing in Seong-cheol’s officetel was extremely thorough. It was his brother’s consideration, who was well aware of Seong-cheol’s “play.” There was also the calculation that if he were reported for noise and the terrible deviant acts of a high school student, a direct descendant, were exposed, it would not be good for Dae-yeong’s image.

Seong-cheol gestured dismissively to those he had ordered to do the work. It meant for them to leave, but one of them insensitively opened his mouth.

“Are you sure you’ll be alright…?”

Immediately, a surge of irritation welled up. Since he couldn’t reveal the Dae-yeong Group’s name, he had hired people two steps removed, and it seemed they had left their common sense six steps further away.

Before Seong-cheol could say anything, another person, startled, quickly covered the insensitive one’s mouth.

“S-sorry. This guy is new today…”

    “…Exclude him.”

    “Yes, understood!”

They didn’t know if “exclude” meant to remove him from future tasks or to exclude him from today’s payment, but they answered with an unconditional “understood.” Bowing deeply, almost to the floor, they quickly withdrew.

It was fortunate that Seong-cheol didn’t take his anger out on them. It seemed he was pleased with today’s “prey.”

    …Pleased to that extent? That?

One of the retreating figures subtly raised his eyes to look at the bed. He saw a fierce, wildcat-like guy whose head was gashed, with blood mixing messily with dirt and dust from the street, old blood caked dry and new blood still flowing, making his original face unrecognizable. Despite all this, the moment he regained consciousness, he glared back with wildly twitching eyes.

He couldn’t understand the tastes of a wealthy heir. Perhaps having seen too many refined and beautiful things, they were drawn to something unique.

The gaze, full of bewilderment until the end, vanished as the door closed.

“Tsk,” Seong-cheol clucked his tongue loudly, muttering that he should tell them not to employ those guys again. It was a familiar story to Jae-gu, who had worked under Seong-cheol and managed subcontractors.

Currently, Jae-gu’s limbs were bound to prevent him from thrashing. His mouth was also gagged because he had been spewing out astonishing insults, like rap, that Seong-cheol had never heard in his life.

Seong-cheol sat down next to Jae-gu and lightly patted his blood-soaked cheek.

“Indeed, it’s troublesome when an Omega acts out too much.”

    “……?”

Instantly, the strength drained from Jae-gu’s eyes. He didn’t understand what Seong-cheol was saying, but it was clearly nonsense.

    Regardless, Seong-cheol’s words continued.

“I called you here because it seems you’re misunderstanding something. Not all Alphas are weak to Omegas, you know.”

Seong-cheol rubbed Jae-gu’s face briskly. It was a movement that made it hard to tell if he was wiping away the blood or smearing it further.

Gagged, Jae-gu made an irritated “Eueueup” sound. Misinterpreting Jae-gu’s action, Seong-cheol became a little softer. A strange heat mixed into his scolding voice.

“Alright, I won’t hurt you. Anyway, if this is a ploy to raise your value by acting tough and playing hard to get, you’ve got it all wrong. I’m not an Alpha desperate for an Omega. How many times do you think I’ve seen types like you?”

Seong-cheol intended to properly teach this immature, arrogant Omega a lesson. Omegas were ultimately beings who had no choice but to kneel before Alphas. No matter how much they boasted, weren’t they just creatures that would melt into a daze from an Alpha’s pheromones?

“I don’t know where you got that Alpha-like scent to spray on yourself, but shallow tricks won’t work. Even if it’s a unique scent, it doesn’t completely hide an Omega’s natural smell.”

    “Eueup! Ugh!”

After being told so clearly, there should have been at least a hint of shame, but Jae-gu continued to act differently than Seong-cheol expected.

Jae-gu continued to snarl and struggle, trying to say something like a Chihuahua baring its teeth. Although he winced slightly from the blood flowing from his head, a look of utter disbelief was clearly visible on his face.

“Alright. I’ll untie you, so say what you need to say. If you yell, I’ll gag you again, so control your volume.”

Seong-cheol spoke magnanimously and untied the gag from Jae-gu’s mouth. He even gently brushed his fingertips over Jae-gu’s lips, feeling sorry for the red marks left behind. The moment Jae-gu turned his head and spat, “Tweh,” Seong-cheol frowned, but he tolerated it, considering it an improvement compared to the earlier uproar.

Jae-gu vigorously rubbed his head against the sheet to wipe away some of the blood, then spoke clearly to Seong-cheol.

    “Hey, are you a lunatic?”

Seong-cheol’s eyes wavered in confusion. His voice also came out trembling.

    “W-what did you say?”

Seong-cheol was the grandson of the former Dae-yeong Group Chairman and the youngest son of the current Chairman. This meant he had grown up pampered, born with a powerful background.

Although many people gossiped and cursed about him behind his back, he had never experienced someone being crude right to his face. Earlier, Jae-gu’s insults had just sounded like desperate flailing or noise, but now, every single word from Jae-gu felt like a greater act of violence than being slapped.

“You, you just said to me……”

    “You crazy bastard. Untie this.”

    “……!”
