IRLPLBIO Chapter 12 Part 2
by BLReadsHe said he brought a lawyer, but it seemed he intended to act as his own lawyer. Jae-gu was speechless, facing Han Yun-cheol’s tongue which rolled as smoothly as if it were oiled.
“Did Han Seong-cheol say that? That I sided with him? …Ugh.”
Kwang-cheol’s hand, holding Jae-gu’s, tightened for a moment. “Sorry,” Kwang-cheol muttered, gritting his teeth.
He knew it wasn’t true, of course. But the fact that yet another person had smelled the scent of an Omega from Jae-gu, who hadn’t even manifested yet, was unpleasant.
Han Yun-cheol instinctively looked away from Kwang-cheol’s gaze, which was not just sharp, but almost menacing. He didn’t even realize he had avoided Kwang-cheol, instead thinking he had gained the upper hand as he watched the dumbfounded Jae-gu. Han Yun-cheol’s chin lifted a little higher.
“Yes. So, this incident shouldn’t be seen as a case with clearly divided perpetrators and victims, but rather an accident caused by a series of coincidences……”
“Ha, that bastard, you really need to crack open his skull. He won’t listen when I say it’s not true, goddamnit.”
“…Wha, what?”
Han Yun-cheol’s words abruptly stopped.
Like Han Seong-cheol, Han Yun-cheol had only ever walked the path of a pampered young master. He was even more sensitive to curses than Han Seong-cheol.
It had been almost ten years since he started working for the company as a university student, hearing and using only refined business language. Even going further back to his high school days, he had never had an opponent who spoke like Jae-gu. At the prestigious school Han Yun-cheol attended, the wildest kids only ever uttered curses with a double ‘s’ sound.
Han Yun-cheol glanced at the lawyer. He intended to let the lawyer handle Jae-gu, as Jae-gu was proving difficult to deal with.
However, the situation on the lawyer’s side wasn’t much better.
“Hello, I am Lee Su-seong of DK Law Firm.”
“And I am Im Ho-sin, representing Yang Jae-gu.”
After exchanging brief greetings, they continued to size each other up.
Lee Su-seong tidied his jacket, subtly showing off his composure. Even after being called in the middle of the night and traveling to the countryside, the lawyer from DK, one of the top three law firms in the country, showed no signs of being disheveled.
Lee Su-seong smiled faintly, flaunting his neat suit, gleaming lawyer’s badge, and a face that betrayed no fatigue.
Far from being intimidated, Im Ho-sin looked at his opponent with a sympathetic gaze. Given his appearance, he must have been stuck at the office without being able to leave, and then come straight here.
A lawyer who had opened their own practice without prior experience at a large law firm might have envied Lee Su-seong’s appearance, but it didn’t impress Im Ho-sin.
Having failed in the battle of wills, Lee Su-seong spoke first.
“As you may have heard, Han Seong-cheol is a member of the Dae-yeong family. Even before his manifestation, there were often people who threw themselves at the minor Seong-cheol.”
“Please continue.”
“So, he came down quietly to the countryside without revealing his identity, but the fact that an Omega was present at the exact moment Seong-cheol manifested… makes me wonder if there was some intention involved……”
Lee Su-seong’s voice, which had been speaking excitedly, gradually faded. Seeing the corner of Im Ho-sin’s mouth curve subtly upward, he felt strangely uneasy. If his opponent had been arguing back, he might have found something to retort to, but with Im Ho-sin nodding with an excessively calm expression, he wondered if there was something he didn’t know.
“…However, considering the physical differences between an Alpha and an Omega, we propose a settlement.”
Lee Su-seong tried his best to appear confident, while covertly observing Im Ho-sin.
Given that they had been summoned to the local precinct late at night, it seemed there was an intention to settle. The other side would also likely know that ending it with some money was the simplest option.
