IRLPLBIO Chapter 14 Part 1
by BLReadsChapter 14 #3. Let’s Make a Deal, And Cooperate (4)
Han Yun-cheol, who had been focused on Jae-gu, turned his head this way. His head, ambiguously tilted, meant that he was not certain of Han Ga-yeon’s identity.
Han Ga-yeon smiled more broadly at Han Yun-cheol, who looked uncertain.
“I never expected to meet you in a place like this, eldest nephew. It’s me, Aunt Ga-yeon. It’s been a long time since we last met as children, hasn’t it?”
As soon as he recognized Han Ga-yeon, Han Yun-cheol’s head snapped towards Jae-gu. He suspected that Han Ga-yeon’s son was trying to use his influence to get rid of Han Seong-cheol.
Han Ga-yeon patted Han Yun-cheol, who couldn’t control his expression and instantly turned fierce, and shook her head.
“Not that way, but next to him.”
“……”
“Say hello, this is my son. Kwang-cheol, this is your cousin.”
Han Ga-yeon’s voice was calm. It was a steady, quiet voice that completely hid how much she had deliberated and hesitated. Her creed was that once a decision was made, she must see it through to the end.
Meanwhile, Kwang-cheol couldn’t completely hide his hostility towards Yun-cheol. The one who split Jae-gu’s head and made his cheek swell was from Dae-yeong, and the one who came to defend him was also from Dae-yeong. He couldn’t help but feel a strong aversion.
But Kwang-cheol, a dutiful son, bowed respectfully at his mother’s glance.
Just before coming here, a conversation he had with Lawyer Im Ho-sin came to mind. Kwang-cheol had asked how he could quickly be recognized as a member of the Dae-yeong lineage. Lawyer Im Ho-sin advised him to manage his image with the future in mind and approach things slowly.
He had therefore thought it would take a considerable amount of time, but he never imagined things would progress so quickly. He was even more surprised that he had received help from his mother, who had been displeased with the idea of returning to Dae-yeong.
It seemed his mother had decided to support his choice. If so, Kwang-cheol absolutely could not disappoint her.
“My name is Park Kwang-cheol.”
“I am Han Yun-cheol. You are Aunt’s son?”
“Yes… Brother.”
Even pronouncing the single word, “Brother,” his tongue felt stiff and frozen. Finishing his brief remark, Kwang-cheol furrowed his brows and bit his tongue hard.
Han Yun-cheol didn’t pay attention to Kwang-cheol’s discomfort. His entire focus was on quickly scanning the person in front of him from top to bottom.
His tall stature, sturdy build, and intense gaze exuded the aura of an Alpha. If he was an Alpha powerful enough to affect even Betas who couldn’t detect pheromones, it meant his secondary gender was very strong. He was clearly that rare Dominant Alpha.
With Han Seong-cheol alone, things were difficult, but it was obvious that if Kwang-cheol got involved, the situation would become even noisier.
But Kwang-cheol was still a child. He could be used.
Wouldn’t it be ideal to make Kwang-cheol and Han Seong-cheol, two Alphas, wary of each other, and in the meantime, solidify his own power? It might be risky if mishandled, but if controlled well, nothing could be better.
High risk, high return. The phrase, known to every businessman, filled Han Yun-cheol’s mind.
Despite the sudden meeting, Han Yun-cheol quickly calculated the pros and cons. If only he had a means to control Kwang-cheol, nothing could be better.
At that moment, Han Yun-cheol’s eyes sequentially scanned Jae-gu, who had made an interesting proposal, and then Kwang-cheol, who was looking at Jae-gu.
This was it.
The moment he surmised a way to control Kwang-cheol, Han Yun-cheol’s eyes glinted.
“Since we’ve met like this by fate, Aunt, aren’t you thinking of returning? Grandfather misses you very much.”
Han Yun-cheol tried to control his emotions as much as possible, speaking as if unconcerned.
However, Han Ga-yeon’s eyes read the surging desire and expectation within Han Yun-cheol. Her role was to respond to that.
Han Ga-yeon looked around. She saw Im Ho-sin, startled by the sudden bomb she’d dropped, yet pondering how to steer the situation to their advantage.
If he was connected to one of her elder brothers, her actions would be instantly conveyed to the Dae-yeong family. Even if Im Ho-sin didn’t speak, it would be known through Han Yun-cheol, so there was no problem.
Han Ga-yeon smiled sweetly and casually dropped her statement as if it were the most natural thing.
“I was thinking of returning anyway, actually.”
Han Ga-yeon’s words, which had paused briefly, immediately continued.
“My son has manifested.”
Seeing Han Ga-yeon’s bright smile, Han Yun-cheol replied, “That’s fast,” with a seemingly emotionless tone. Numerous calculations whirred through his mind.
Han Ga-yeon, who had kept her distance from her grandfather after leaving Dae-yeong, was now saying she would return. She was of the same generation as his father.
Having been away from Dae-yeong for a long time and losing her power, Han Ga-yeon could no longer contend with his father, who was already the Chairman. Instead, her son, Kwang-cheol, could check his younger brother, Han Seong-cheol.
The older generation would not easily interfere in matters happening within the same generation. That was also what Han Ga-yeon desired, to integrate her son into Dae-yeong.
Han Ga-yeon intended to open the way back to Dae-yeong for Kwang-cheol. And Han Yun-cheol considered accepting Han Ga-yeon to create a rival for Han Seong-cheol.
Their interests dramatically aligned.
“Please take good care of us, Aunt.”
“No, I should be asking you to take good care of our Kwang-cheol.”
Han Yun-cheol and Han Ga-yeon shook hands like colleagues making a deal, not like aunt and nephew.
Jae-gu, feeling pleased, rubbed his nose. He hadn’t expected Han Ga-yeon to step forward, and he felt a sense of pride that an agreement had been reached as a result of his head being split open.
Pulling Kwang-cheol, who was stiff and casting a cold gaze at Yun-cheol, closer, Jae-gu chuckled and whispered.
“A cracked skull is more than enough for this, right?”
“…Don’t talk like that.”
“Huh? What?”
“Don’t act like your injury is nothing.”
Kwang-cheol’s voice trembled. He was already furious that he hadn’t protected Jae-gu in time, but seeing Jae-gu laugh and say he even made good use of his wound made his blood boil.
Moreover, the oblivious Jae-gu even patted Kwang-cheol’s backside as if he were a child.
“You were that worried about your hyung? This much doesn’t even hurt.”
“Hyung!”
Choked with emotion, Kwang-cheol snatched Jae-gu’s wrist.
