IRLPLBIO Chapter 17 Part 1
by BLReadsHan Yun-cheol hid his expression, rubbing his face. He didn’t yet have enough power to openly refuse his uncle.
“…It’s difficult to just bring him over.”
“I know, I know! Who said to just bring him? Just give him some money!”
Han Gyeong-jin’s words grew faster.
“Bring him to Seoul, get him an officetel, huh? Slip him a few hundred as monthly allowance, and if that’s not enough… right, he’s a Dominant Alpha, isn’t he? Hook him up with a few Omegas! Then he’ll definitely come over. To a middle schooler, even that much looks huge.”
What Han Gyeong-jin was suggesting was a method he had used on most Dominant Alphas until now.
Among the already scarce Alphas, Dominant Alphas were even rarer. Their ratio to the total population was so small it had to be counted in decimals.
Even if their physical abilities and capabilities were incomparable to Betas, if their absolute numbers were low, they eventually had no choice but to align with the majority to maintain power. Moreover, Dominant Alphas, with their stronger desires compared to Betas or regular Alphas, also had overflowing needs. There was no one who wouldn’t fall for the conditions of being given money and Omegas.
But it seemed this time was an exception.
“That, too, seems difficult.”
“What? Why… Ah, you’re going to take him directly to my older brother?”
Han Gyeong-jin’s face instantly deflated. He thought Han Yun-cheol was confiding in him easily, but it seemed he would end up handing all rights over to his older brother.
In chaebol families, the one who could bring profit took precedence over familial affection. This meant either Han Yun-cheol hadn’t calculated properly yet, or the profits Han Gyeong-jin could bring were less than Han Moo-jin’s.
Han Gyeong-jin looked at his nephew, who was already being called the next successor, with a renewed expression. Han Yun-cheol accurately read the meaning of that gaze.
“It’s not the reason you’re thinking, Uncle. It’s because that Dominant Alpha is my cousin.”
“…Cousin? Let’s see, our children are all grown, is he from your mother’s side of the family?”
“No. He’s my aunt’s son.”
“Aunt? If it’s your aunt… Ah.”
Han Gyeong-jin’s nonchalant expression instantly froze. He couldn’t maintain his smiling face.
“Aunt? My aunt? Ga-yeon? You found Ga-yeon? She had a child?”
Han Gyeong-jin, who had been rattling off questions without breathing, paused the next moment.
“…Ga-yeon’s child is a Dominant Alpha, and a middle schooler…”
He covered his mouth, thought for a moment, then sprang up. The twitching of his lips was clearly visible.
“Right, that’s what you wanted to say. I knew you were being surprisingly cooperative.”
“Uncle.”
“It’s fine. I’m not angry. Moving as you wish is advantageous for me too.”
Han Yun-cheol silently listened to Han Gyeong-jin’s words instead of unnecessarily interjecting.
“Alright. I’ll help you this time. But you’ll help me next time, right?”
“Yes, I understand.”
Han Gyeong-jin, having succeeded in the negotiation, left immediately.
A moment later, Han Yun-cheol, who had been staring blankly out the window at the dimly brightening sky, slowly leaned back.
…He had succeeded.
He secretly let out a sigh.
Han Gyeong-jin would immediately run to Han Chang-hun and tell him everything: that his youngest daughter, whom he had been searching for, had appeared, that her son was even a Dominant Alpha, and that they should quickly draw him into Dae-yeong and embrace him.
And Han Chang-hun would very happily welcome Han Ga-yeon, whom he hadn’t seen in a long time. The fact that Han Ga-yeon’s husband was already dead was actually a plus point. Han Ga-yeon’s husband wasn’t of Dae-yeong blood, but her son was definitely of Dae-yeong blood.
It was Han Yun-cheol’s judgment to first leak the information about Park Kwang-cheol to Han Gyeong-jin.
His father, Han Moo-jin, would not welcome Han Ga-yeon’s return. Even more so if Han Ga-yeon had a Dominant Alpha child.
He might even try to tie up Han Ga-yeon and Park Kwang-cheol together and dispose of them before Han Chang-hun noticed. If there were no Alphas in the family, it might be different, but with Han Seong-cheol having manifested as an Alpha, he wouldn’t want a Dominant Alpha interfering and challenging his authority.
But Han Yun-cheol decided to cooperate with them. If Han Seong-cheol hadn’t been an Alpha, he might have come to the same conclusion as his father, but Han Seong-cheol had already manifested.
The risk levels were completely different between ‘the current Chairman’s son and his own younger brother trying to threaten this position’ and ‘his aunt’s son and his own cousin, who had been outside Dae-yeong’s fence for nearly 20 years, settling into Dae-yeong’.
It was even more so when thinking about the future. Pushing Han Seong-cheol away would be easier to justify than casting him off entirely.
“By the way, asking to be pulled to Seoul. How audacious.”
Jae-gu’s suggestion seemed to echo in his ears.
Han Yun-cheol would help Han Ga-yeon and Park Kwang-cheol until they returned to Dae-yeong and settled in anyway. Adding one more, Jae-gu, wouldn’t change much.
…And he seemed like he could be useful in a pinch.
Jae-gu leaned his head back. Kwang-cheol, who had carefully wrapped a towel around Jae-gu’s neck, appeared upside down. He had pulled up his simple training pants, worn at home, to his knees, and was bending his waist, holding the shower head.
It should have been a funny sight, but his gradually firming body and serious face created an atmosphere. A handsome man concentrating on something had the power to stir hearts, transcending gender.
…No, wait. Why transcend gender?! Especially with his younger brother, a middle schooler!
Jae-gu, stimulated by something he hadn’t thought of before, was about to spring up when Kwang-cheol gently brought the shower stream closer.
“Hyung, how’s this? Not too hot, right?”
“Uh, uh, it’s just right… No, I mean, I can do this much myself.”
“The doctor told you not to get water on the stitches for a while.”
“Well, that’s true… But my arm isn’t broken, and I can wash my own hair, you know…?”
“Just accept it when I offer to help. How comfortable is it?”
“Uh, yeah… okay…”
Jae-gu, overpowered by Kwang-cheol’s forcefulness, closed his mouth.
