IRLPLBIO Chapter 33 Part 1
by BLReadsEvery time Jae-gu went to the restroom, he squeezed his lower body. It wasn’t with any sexual intent, but to confirm that his ‘thing’ was still firmly attached. It was fortunate that no one saw Jae-gu’s face; desperate and resolute before dropping his pants, then completely relieved after confirming.
“It’s still there today…” Jae-gu swallowed the word “strange” and tilted his head.
The textbook clearly said there would be changes in the reproductive organs, right? Is this not that change?
As he gripped and released his ‘thing’ with a puzzled expression, a knock sounded from outside the door.
“Brother? What are you doing?”
“Oh, oh! I’m coming out!”
“No, take your time. I just knocked because I didn’t hear anything.”
To be mindful of my presence even when I’m in the restroom, that’s my younger brother! He’s worried about me!
Jae-gu’s not-so-bright mind came to a conclusion as bright and beautiful as a flower garden.
Jae-gu quickly washed his hands and came out, shaking water from them into the air as he looked at Kwang-cheol. Kwang-cheol, looking even sharper today, seemed to have grown taller. Even the somewhat rustic school uniform had the effect of looking like a classic suit when worn by Kwang-cheol. In contrast, he himself, dressed in a shabby hospital gown…
As he pondered, Jae-gu suddenly tilted his head. “What was my height around this time? Shouldn’t I have been a bit taller than I am now?”
“Brother, what are you thinking so hard about?”
Kwang-cheol’s words interrupted his thoughts, and he quickly forgot what he had just been thinking. Jae-gu tilted his head for a moment, then focused his attention back on Kwang-cheol.
“I forgot. By the way, are you meeting someone?”
“Yes.”
Kwang-cheol’s answer was short. Jae-gu, feeling awkward to ask again, mumbled, “Oh, I see.”
Jae-gu, wanting to ask but unable to, furtively darted his eyes around like an observant puppy, contrary to his own belief that he looked composed. Kwang-cheol was, of course, the first to notice this.
“I’m meeting grandfather. He said he’s coming today.”
“Grandfather? The Dae-yeong Chairman?”
“Yes, Chairman Han Chang-hun. Though he’s retired now.”
“Whoa.” Jae-gu gasped, then quickly clung to Kwang-cheol and brushed his clothes. Not content with just straightening them to prevent wrinkles, he adjusted the shirt collar and even fixed the zipper-style school uniform tie, tidying up Kwang-cheol’s appearance.
Kwang-cheol’s eyes gradually narrowed. Jae-gu, despite his forearm covered with burn treatment gauze and his fingers wrapped in a cast, was fussing as if making Kwang-cheol presentable was a monumental task.
Finally, Kwang-cheol carefully took Jae-gu’s wrist and lowered it.
“That’s enough. You don’t have to.”
“But you’re meeting the Chairman.”
“It’s not that big a deal.” Kwang-cheol quickly added, fearing Jae-gu would become self-conscious if his tone was too stiff.
“It’s just a grandson visiting his grandfather.”
“Oh, right, grandfather… that’s true…” Jae-gu nodded unthinkingly. Kwang-cheol was right. It wasn’t a subordinate meeting the Chairman, but a grandfather coming to see his grandson. Being overly dressed up and deferential might actually be awkward.
“But he came all the way here? Instead of telling you to go to him?”
“If he wants to see me, he should come himself.”
“Huh? Wait, you didn’t actually say that, did you?”
“I’ll be back.”
“Answer me! Answer me before you go!”
Kwang-cheol chose to keep his mouth shut rather than give an answer Jae-gu wouldn’t like.
As he closed the hospital room door and walked down the corridor, he thought of Jae-gu’s arm. Thinking of the inside of his arm, covered with treatment gauze, still made his vision go dark.
The fortunate thing was that Jae-gu’s body was reorganizing as an Omega, and his wounds were healing quickly, but that didn’t entirely alleviate Kwang-cheol’s guilt. Instead of protecting Jae-gu, he was being protected, and it was all due to his own immaturity.
Kwang-cheol clenched his fist tightly. As an ordinary middle school student, there was almost nothing he could do.
However, if he were the youngest grandson of Dae-yeong, the story would be different.
Surprisingly, there were few people in the small cafe in front of the hospital. There were only a few ‘nylon patients’ – those faking illness – with shiny faces in the smoking room, despite wearing hospital gowns.
The men, who had been chortling and chatting about trivial things, immediately put out their cigarettes as soon as a few burly men in black suits quietly asked them to leave. After a few ten-thousand-won notes were slipped into their hospital gown pockets, they left almost as if they were being chased out, yet with joyful expressions.
The burly men then told the startled cafe owner to leave as well. This time, an envelope accompanied the request.
The owner, glancing between the thick white money envelope and the burly men in their jet-black suits, quickly snatched the envelope. Inside was enough money to surpass two weeks’ worth of sales, not just one day’s.
Displaying a spirit of service, the owner grinned and even handed over the cafe’s keys to the burly men.
After the interior was arranged, Han Chang-hun entered the now quiet cafe. He was calm, as if it were only natural for the place he was about to occupy to be pre-arranged and cleaned.
His accompanying secretary quickly surveyed the cafe’s interior, then gave a slight nod. The burly men, having received their sign of approval, quietly withdrew.
Soon, Han Chang-hun, sitting in a central spot, let out a ‘huh’ sound as if dumbfounded.
“He told me to come directly? That boy?”
“That’s right. It seems the young master is still too young and doesn’t know much about Dae-yeong yet.”
“Enough. You don’t need to make excuses for him.”
Even as he said that, Han Chang-hun was secretly proud of Kwang-cheol.
Kwang-cheol wasn’t truly ignorant. On the contrary, he might have known too much. It was evident that he intended to use his power at the appropriate time, but that was merely the thoughts of a young person being read by an older one.
“I thought he was just a child.” Heh heh, this time, a laugh escaped him.
The secretary closed his mouth. If he couldn’t follow Han Chang-hun’s thoughts, then silence was the best option.
The secretary discreetly raised his wrist to check his watch. Exactly at the appointed time, the cafe door opened.
“It’s an honor to meet you, Grandfather.”
