IRLPLBIO Chapter 34 Part 2
by BLReads“Hey! You, listen to me! Do you know how scary Seoul is? They say if you close your eyes, they’ll steal your nose! You shouldn’t be underestimated!”
Joo Hae-jun tried to present his reasoning, but it didn’t reach Jae-gu’s ears.
Kwang-cheol, who had been looking at Joo Hae-jun with displeasure just a moment ago, now looked at him with very pained eyes. That somehow felt even more hurtful, so Joo Hae-jun clutched his chest.
Meanwhile, Kim Min-jae greeted them.
“I, I’ll go visit you later, so don’t forget about me…”
“You’re not coming to see me, are you? You need an excuse to meet Lee Na-eun, right?”
“Th-that’s not it! I did think it would be nice to meet her, ah, really, this isn’t it…!”
At Jae-gu’s probing remark, Kim Min-jae fell for it completely. His entire round face turned bright red. Jae-gu whistled, “Ooh,” and patted Kim Min-jae’s shoulder.
“Study hard. That Lee Na-eun, she likes smart people.”
“…How do you know that, Hyung?”
“Tsk, aren’t you going to watch your eyes? Who are you glaring at, you tiny little thing?”
“Ah… I didn’t mean to… But Hyung isn’t really that much taller than me…”
“I’ll just smack you.”
Whether he got scared belatedly, Kim Min-jae, who had lowered his gaze, still raised his head again, as if he needed an answer. He seemed to want to appear resolute in his own way, but his shoulders were trembling.
“N-Na-eun…”
“It’s not Lee Na-eun I know, it’s her father. Trust my words and study, got it?”
Kim Min-jae’s lips twitched again. He was about to ask how he could trust him, or how he knew Lee Na-eun’s father, but lacking the courage to challenge him again, he closed his mouth. Kwang-cheol, beside him, patted his back, saying he made a good decision.
“Take care. I’ll contact you.”
“Really? Really? Th-then can I contact you too?”
“Why are you asking that? Of course.”
Kwang-cheol showed a kind smile. From Kim Min-jae, who had instantly fallen for it, Jae-gu saw a phantom tail wagging vigorously.
The school they transferred to looked like a luxurious mansion from the outside. It was impressive enough that they could secure such a large plot of land in an expensive neighborhood, but even more surprising was the loose curriculum under the guise of being a private high school.
Even if it would later be reorganized as a “self-governing high school” or similar, for now, it was different from others despite being within the system. Jae-gu thought that this might be precisely what those who created and used this school had desired.
As Jae-gu was thinking this, he realized that he was not looking at it from the perspective of a transfer student, but from the perspective of a businessman assessing a huge enterprise called a school.
He was a student now. Because he had returned!
As Jae-gu slapped his cheeks repeatedly to regain his composure, next to him, Kwang-cheol spoke.
“Hyung, did you check your class?”
“Yeah. Class F.”
“F…?”
Kwang-cheol’s expression clouded over. It was because he had already heard about the class assignments.
While others called it amazing just for its school title, this place graded people. Within a school where countless political and business figures, judges, prosecutors and lawyers, famous entertainers, and children and grandchildren of entrepreneurs gathered, classes were once again divided.
It was a preview of social status. It also intuitively showed the fact that there is a heaven above heaven.
“Are they grading people like beef? Don’t drag childish cartoons into reality,” the voices of opposition were loud. However, even ridiculous rules become reality if repeated for several years.
Many students who attended and graduated from this school eventually accepted the indoctrinated narrative. Their parents were the same. A new class system spread among those described as high society.
Students identified their class based on their assigned homeroom, and tried to form connections with higher classes. Naturally, their attitudes towards lower classes also changed. It was said that what happened in Class F, the lowest grade, defied common sense.
Unlike Kwang-cheol, who was worried because of what he had heard, Jae-gu was nonchalant.
In his previous life, he also attended this school. He was in Class F, just like now.
