Chapter 36 #8. Seoul School Is Nothing Special (3)

The two rascals, who had never experienced such cheap and direct provocation, looked around with dumbfounded expressions. F-class was filled with a class president who looked utterly distraught, a few who were too surprised to tear their eyes away, and the rest who were desperately burying their heads, as if they thought it was a situation they shouldn’t witness. The atmosphere was a complete mess.

The twins, whose anger had soared to their heads, were panting. Yet, their instincts warned them not to lash out recklessly.

It was the instinct of the weak before the strong, but their reason desperately ignored that fact. The twins believed they were of a noble status, superior to others.

There were many ways to punish an arrogant punk who had just set foot in school and didn’t know his place. Even if it wasn’t a dogfight of punching and rolling around, there were points they could exploit. Having rationalized it with effort, they looked at each other.

A tiger has its own way. There was no need to lose face by getting tangled with a mad dog. Especially if that mad dog was a prey animal emitting a sweet scent.

    “You’re an Omega, aren’t you?”

    “Just you wait.”

    “I’ll make you regret it.”

    “A mere Omega.”

The two muttered one after another.

Jae-gu stuck out his tongue, going “Ehehe,” and mimicked their words, “Heeheehee, you’ll regret it~” When he teased them with half-closed eyes, the twins’ faces flushed as if they would explode.

Meanwhile, Choi Eun-ho slowly came to his senses. Until now, he had simply been scared and frozen at the name of A-class, but the guys whose masks Jae-gu had stripped away weren’t so great after all. The time he had suffered at their hands felt unfair. Though he instinctively tensed up when they glared or huffed, that quickly turned into indignation.

“Don’t be so cocky. You’ll be begging me to kill you later.”

“I’ll show you exactly what it means for an Omega to challenge an Alpha.”

The twins’ intention to intimidate Jae-gu didn’t work in the slightest. Jae-gu lightly rubbed one side of his head. As his hair lifted, the scar from where his head had been stitched after being torn open by Han Seong-cheol was visible.

“What the hell. Dae-yeong guys have no creativity. The bastard who said that to me had his head burst open.”

    “…!”

The faint-hearted class president had sunk to the floor at some point. Until now, he had never doubted that his title as class president of an elite school would be helpful in society. But now, the fact that he was class president felt distant and overwhelming. His mind was already blank about how to clean up today’s mess.

“Then, the Omega who had trouble with him back then was actually…”

“I wondered how great he was to pick a fight with him, but he’s here.”

The twins’ expressions changed as they associated Jae-gu with Han Seong-cheol. Their angry faces took on a cunning look, becoming very grotesque.

All of Jae-gu’s previous words had provoked the twins, but the one that most triggered their inferiority complex was one: ‘He was kicked out of Dae-yeong, but pretends to be from Dae-yeong.’

Their grandfather was a cousin brother of Han Chang-hun, the first Chairman of Dae-yeong. If you calculated their relationship degree with Han Seong-cheol, a direct descendant of Dae-yeong, they were 8th cousins, to the point where it would be better to call them strangers.

However, there were too many derived benefits to abandon the name ‘Dae-yeong bloodline.’ From the minor benefit of being assigned to A-class, to the major ones like creating positions in subsidiaries that brought in quite lucrative profits.

That was precisely why they clung on desperately, claiming that legally, up to eighth cousins were considered relatives. In any case, as long as they maintained the connection, outsiders regarded them as part of the Dae-yeong family.

And now, Yang Jae-gu was before their eyes. A tempting morsel that even Han Seong-cheol, a direct descendant of Dae-yeong, couldn’t swallow, had appeared of its own accord.

If they could take this guy, wouldn’t they have an advantage over Han Seong-cheol? Even if it wasn’t actually better, wouldn’t they be able to say that their male pride and Alpha abilities were superior to Han Seong-cheol’s!

The twins, having aligned their thoughts with a glance, raised their fingers.

    “Alright. We’ll free you now.”

“Because starting today, he’ll take your place.”

The twin punks pointed at Choi Eun-ho and Jae-gu in turn. The one they would release from being a target was Choi Eun-ho. The one who would replace him was Yang Jae-gu.

Choi Eun-ho trembled. Jae-gu openly clicked his tongue and picked his ear.

“These young punks, only learning bad things.”

Seeing that they weren’t attacking immediately, it seemed they would bring reinforcements. It was an even more idiotic move.

The idea that they could win by sheer numbers was a very inferior strategy. It was the same logic as how 17 winning against 1 in a fight doesn’t look impressive at all.

The twins muttered various meaningful lines like “Just you wait” and “You’ll see us again soon,” then exited. But their coming and going was no longer the focus of attention.

All eyes in F-class were already on Jae-gu. Some seemed to be scared of Jae-gu, who had so freely acted out on the first day, while others seemed to feel sorry for him.

If a member of F-class challenged A-class, they might win with their fists. But the aftermath was the problem.

The members of A-class had excessively powerful backing. They could frame someone for something they didn’t do, dredge up every possible sin and fabricate new ones, and then justify themselves with money and power. Those in F-class had already seen, heard, or experienced similar incidents.

The class president, having thought that far, was almost in tears.

    “Wh-what did you do?!”

Jae-gu blew on the finger he had been using to pick his ear and replied carelessly.

“So, should I just let those good-for-nothing jerks pick on me?”

“They’re the Alpha Club! Other Alphas will get involved now!”

“Alpha Club? I think I’ve heard that somewhere.”

Jae-gu thought for a moment, and only after some time did he exclaim, “Ah!” The words Park Kwang-cheol had said, telling him not to get involved with them, only now came to mind. Moreover, Choi Eun-ho approached with faltering steps and even spoke.

    “I… because of me, you…”

Choi Eun-ho, who had barely managed to speak, had a pale, ashen complexion.
