IRLPLBIO Chapter 45 Part 1
by BLReadsThree days later, a meeting was again arranged for Jae-gu and the guardians of the beaten Alpha brats for a discussion. This time, as if thoroughly prepared, they even brought a few lawyers from their side.
Due to Choi Hyeong-gyu’s targeted investigation, the company’s accounting records were completely seized, and the stock price was not only in a continuous downward trend but had been halved. They were determined to achieve victory, even if it was against Jae-gu. Their thinking was that if they could first defeat Jae-gu, Choi Hyeong-gyu’s pressure would also be alleviated.
Despite their efforts, tensed up and exerting themselves, Jae-gu calmly said.
“Are they receiving their treatments well? A few things here and there must have been broken.”
“A few things, you say! They say it will take a long time for rehabilitation, at such a crucial time! Just how are you going to take responsibility for this?!”
“Well, I thought I’d take a look first.”
“What for?!”
“To visit them and apologize?”
Jae-gu grinned. His smile, seeking agreement, was directed more at the lawyers standing behind the ‘octopus crowd’ than at the crowd itself.
Behind these people, who were utterly speechless, their respective lawyers quietly advised. It’s better to at least arrange a chance for an apology now than to be attacked later with the argument that they tried to apologize but were stopped.
“Look at that scoundrel’s expression! Is that really the face of someone trying to apologize?!”
“But you can’t just stop him indiscriminately. If their side tried to reach a settlement, and our side blocked it without even listening, it wouldn’t look good.”
They seemed to be whispering, trying to keep their voices down, but their excited panting made everything audible. Jae-gu heard a lawyer look his way and say, “Whether or not to accept the apology is our decision.”
An apology? Wouldn’t it just be a matter of making them accept it? He just needed to force them to accept it.
With that simple, clear thought, Jae-gu picked his ear. His nonchalant demeanor enraged them even more, and the octopus crowd and their lawyers vowed they would never let him off easily. Their unspoken agreement and implicit bond were strong.
However, the Alpha brats, who were both the perpetrators and the victims, were uncooperative with their parents and lawyers. This began when Jae-gu, who had been checking on their condition with the doctor, opened his mouth.
“This will require physical, therapy, won’t it?”
His voice was loud enough for the brats to hear clearly. The doctor briefly thought Jae-gu was pausing in an odd place, but instead of questioning it, he focused on his duty.
“They will need to commit to rehabilitation for at least two months. Fortunately, since the breaks were clean, their bones will be even stronger once they heal. As Alphas, their recovery speed will also be faster than Betas or Omegas.”
“Ah, so no physical, therapy then?”
“That must also be done concurrently, of course.”
“I’d like to help a little, if I can.”
Jae-gu smiled as innocently as possible. When he glared with his upturned eyes, he gave off a rather fierce aura, but when he feigned meekness, blinking his wide-open eyes, his soft facial lines and neat features stood out.
This was even more effective on the doctor, who already knew Jae-gu was an Omega. He momentarily forgot the fact that Jae-gu had single-handedly knocked down eight Alphas.
If you think about it, wasn’t the Alpha group, who got wrecked trying to do something to a single Omega, the bigger problem? The doctor, thinking of Jae-gu as a ‘perpetrator created by being pushed by Alphas,’ offered a small comfort.
“Don’t worry, they’ll get better soon. I’ll try to make sure they don’t overcharge for treatment, so don’t worry too much.”
“Yes.”
Jae-gu, nodding in response, met the brats’ gazes one by one. Heck, Jae-gu, having drawn the terrified brats’ gazes, rolled his eyes and slowly looked downwards. Eight pairs of eyes followed Jae-gu’s gaze downwards.
Jae-gu’s fist, hanging by his side, was tightly clenched. This was what ‘physical’ therapy meant.
Jae-gu subtly shook his fist, just enough so others wouldn’t see. He was personally demonstrating that he could give them a ‘physical hit’ to fix their attitudes anytime he wanted.
‘Speak carefully.’
The Alpha brats, forcibly made to understand, gasped and choked, eventually making a sound like they were suffocating.
Money was important. Power was also important. For most people, simply brandishing the presence of money and power could secure an advantage.
However, the same method didn’t work on a madman.
Money and power couldn’t stop immediate violence. One would only endure the violence and plan revenge later if the violence was tolerable; if they felt like they were going to die immediately, such thoughts wouldn’t even cross their mind. Those who knew the pain of broken teeth and bones didn’t want to experience it twice.
Furthermore, the brats realized that the situation wasn’t like before. The parents they trusted and relied on most, the parents they thought would crush Jae-gu just like they had other kids, were conspicuously powerless this time.
It was said that behind Yang Jae-gu, whom they had believed to be an orphan with no parents or relatives, stood a direct descendant of the Dae-yeong Group. A rumor later spread that one of the Dae-yeong Group’s third-generation heirs had transferred to the school on the same day as Jae-gu, and they were very close. There was also talk that one of the current Chairman’s siblings was Jae-gu’s sponsor. This was why the twins, who had been completely wrecked first and received a 12-week diagnosis, couldn’t even utter a sound.
Jae-gu waited for the brats’ minds to calmly grasp reality and calculate their future. Only after confirming that fear was firmly etched in their eyes did he leisurely open his mouth.
“So, the settlement is……”
“We have, to do it!”
“My apology is……”
“Accepted! It’s accepted!”
Each time Jae-gu said a word, the brats jumped up and reacted. Those with missing teeth couldn’t speak but responded with vigorous nodding. The sounds of the octopus crowd and their lawyers trying to intervene seemed to go completely unheard.
As if ordering a tamed animal to perform a trick, Jae-gu threw out one last remark.
“Ah, the settlement money is a little short.”
“It’s fine! What about money?!”
“This bastard, because we keep letting him get away with things…!”
