IRLPLBIO Chapter 49 Part 1
by BLReadsJae-gu isn’t that kind of person.
The one who defended him to the class president was Choi Eun-ho. Choi Eun-ho, whose expression was brighter and much more lively than before, looked at Jae-gu as if saying, “Right?” His eyes were so sparkly that it felt a bit burdensome.
“What’s bothering you? If I can help, I will. Just say the word.” Choi Eun-ho spoke gently first.
“Except for asking to borrow money.” The class president quickly added.
Since it was an offer to help anyway, Jae-gu asked. “Uh, it’s not about me, really not… but listen.”
Anyone could tell it was about him, but neither Choi Eun-ho nor the class president pointed it out. This was because it was quite interesting to see Jae-gu, who they thought always moved forward without hesitation, falter and not know what to do.
“I have a younger friend I’ve known since childhood, and at night, well…” Unlike his confused expression, the tips of his ears were faintly red.
The class president, who prided himself on being quicker-witted than others, tried to suppress the subtle question that had risen to his throat. Fortunately, Choi Eun-ho asked a different question.
“Is that person an Alpha?”
“Uh, yeah. But is that important?”
“Of course it’s important! If they have a secondary gender, having someone they’re attracted to like that is very important.”
“Ah, secondary gender. So it’s because of the secondary gender…” Jae-gu, finding the answer in Choi Eun-ho’s words, looked relieved.
Yes, it’s because of their secondary gender. Alphas must sometimes feel like suddenly kissing someone! He added his own arbitrary reason and was convinced. It was then that the class president was waiting for the right moment to say, “I don’t think that’s it.”
“Oh, right. Do you know how to get better at studying?”
“……”
The quick-witted class president closed his mouth first again. From his perspective, Jae-gu didn’t seem to have much connection with studying. It wasn’t like he was starting to study in his second year of high school, and if he was asking how to do it, that was even more so.
A moment later, Choi Eun-ho spoke carefully again. “Build a strong foundation, thorough preparation and review, focus on textbooks, listen carefully to the teacher’s words…?”
“Sigh.”
Jae-gu, sighing as if the ground would collapse, clutched his head again. He needed an easy way to become smart overnight, not such standard methods.
Without knowing what Jae-gu was thinking, Choi Eun-ho patted him comfortingly. Jae-gu sighed once more, thinking that while the kid was truly kind, what smart people said was no help to him at all.
Han Seong-cheol, who had barely escaped the countryside, came to look around the school first, before his transfer procedures were processed. It was to personally check how much the school had changed while he was away.
Then he encountered a few absurd situations. They were even more preposterous and perplexing than what he had vaguely heard.
First, the Alpha Club had nearly disintegrated. The ones who had been beaten to a pulp hadn’t returned from the hospital yet, and the others, though not caught in this incident, were trembling, not knowing when their turn would come. That the Alpha Club, once considered the center of wealth and power, would be broken by simple, brute force. It was an incredible thing no one had expected.
Second, the videos they had taken were gone. The videos they sometimes watched together to solidify their bond or used to threaten others when they were in a good mood were all gone. Only one video remained, clearly showing Jae-gu’s almost flying exploits. The sight of an extremely threatening Omega made the testicles of any Alpha watching the video shrivel up.
Third, the authority of Class A had fallen. Seemingly related to the first two incidents, it became difficult to do many of the things they had been able to suppress under the name of Class A. Not only Class B, just below them, but even the kids from Class F, whom they had treated like mere street pebbles, sometimes showed rebellious glances. It was clear they were not conforming to the hierarchy.
Han Seong-cheol’s blood pressure shot up. Having asserted his authority and influence at school for so long, Han Seong-cheol was even more shocked. How long had he been away? How could this small world have been completely turned upside down like a flipped pancake?
Fuming with anger, he threw open the window, and immediately saw Jae-gu, the one who had flipped the “pancake,” looking at a book and muttering something as if memorizing it. Han Seong-cheol, even more dumbfounded, ground his teeth.
That bastard must be crazy. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have openly resisted or defied him. Perhaps Park Kwang-cheol had incited him from the beginning…
As his thoughts began to race, Jae-gu outside the window suddenly lifted his head. His movement, turning sharply towards him as if sensing something, was almost animalistic in its speed. Han Seong-cheol, who had reflexively crouched and hidden below the window, let out an exasperated sigh a moment too late.
What did he have to hide for! He stood up again. He pretended to be nonchalant, as if he had merely picked up something that had fallen.
Looking out the window again, pretending nothing was wrong, Jae-gu was still staring back. Jae-gu, with one corner of his mouth pulled up in a smirk, moved his lips broadly. Even without sound, the lip movements were readable. Han Seong-cheol, concentrating without realizing it, read what Jae-gu was saying.
“Scared…? Scared? He’s talking to me, isn’t he?”
He was so dumbfounded that his reaction was delayed. “That, that crazy bastard!”
He leaned out the window as if to rush out immediately, but Jae-gu had already left. Han Seong-cheol clutched the back of his neck. It wasn’t a performance for show; this time, his blood pressure truly skyrocketed, making him feel faint.
Jeong Seung-dae re-entered the country less than two weeks after his departure. His attire was almost unchanged, but in the interim, Jeong Seung-dae had acquired a more definite and reliable identity. Among the numerous calls he received immediately after arriving, Jeong Seung-dae replied to only one person.
