IRCDM Chapter 80
by BLReadsChapter 80: Exploration (Revised) I Was Born This Way
The resting room was dimly lit by a faint indicator light.
Li Yao, using his arm as a pillow, lay in the treatment pod, tossing and turning, unable to sleep, sighing every so often.
“Can’t sleep?” Liang Huan, lying in the adjacent treatment pod, accessed Li Yao’s mental power interface, still a pitiful D-.
“I’m thinking about your fifty billion,” Li Yao lamented. “How many mechas could that buy? Just gone like that.”
After all, owing someone else fifty billion was fundamentally different from having fifty billion you earned stolen.
Although he and Liang Huan weren’t officially married, he was still considered part of the Eastern Third District, so he felt a certain possessiveness over the fifty billion.
Liang Huan’s lips curved into a smile. “Yes, fifty billion would take everyone a long time to earn,”
Li Yao’s muffled voice came from inside the treatment pod: “We have to find this bastard, or I won’t be able to sleep.”
“Okay, I hear you,” Liang Huan said.
“This is your responsibility, don’t make it sound so ambiguous.” Li Yao chuckled, turning his back to Liang Huan’s treatment pod. “Sleep.”
After a moment, he sat up, opened his treatment pod, and turned to glare at Liang Huan, who was sleeping peacefully.
Liang Huan’s treatment pod was more spacious than his, and Liang Huan only took up half the space. Li Yao stared at the empty space for a long time, unable to resist the temptation. He lay down next to Liang Huan with a clear conscience.
Liang Huan felt the approaching warmth, but his breathing remained steady.
“Stop pretending, come here and let me hold you.” Li Yao reached out and touched his thigh.
“This isn’t appropriate.” Liang Huan said primly with his eyes closed. “Su Murong specifically told us to rest in separate pods.”
Li Yao grabbed him into his arms impatiently, placing a leg over him, his hands and feet not entirely well-behaved as he shifted around.
Liang Huan opened his eyes, finally unable to bear it. “Li Yao, not now.”
Li Yao finally found a comfortable position, sighing contentedly as he held the other man. Hearing Liang Huan’s words, he said, “It has to be now, all right.”
Suddenly overcome with sleepiness, he smelled Liang Huan’s familiar scent, his eyelids grew heavy, and his consciousness slowly drifted into darkness.
“…” Liang Huan grabbed the hand on his lower abdomen, glanced at the man who had buried half his head in his neck, and turned to embrace him.
Li Yao struggled unhappily, only to be held even tighter. This domineering and forceful behavior was annoying, but sleepiness won out, and Li Yao reluctantly compromised.
Liang Huan lowered his head to kiss the black dragon on his shoulder, and closed his eyes.
—
The temporary laboratory in the Administrative Court Building was crowded.
“Boss, why are we suddenly doing gene registration?” You Zhao Chen asked Liao Yuan, who was standing in front of him.
Liao Yuan lowered his voice mysteriously. “There was an assassination attempt a few days ago. All the surveillance in the building was hacked at the time, and they still haven’t caught the person. Li Yao proposed gene registration. From now on, entering and exiting the office and each floor will require gene scanning to leave a trace.”
You Zhao Chen frowned. “That’s too much trouble.”
“It’s troublesome, but it improves security.” Liao Yuan cleared his throat. “Someone is jealous of an outstanding and responsible district chief like me. Why didn’t I think of this method sooner?”
You Zhao Chen looked at him suspiciously. “There’s no money for this right now. Did you pay for it?”
Liao Yuan gave a mysterious and slightly greasy smile.
You Zhao Chen forced a smile and gritted his teeth. “Liang Huan convinced you?”
Liao Yuan patted his chest proudly. “That’s not true. It’s all voluntary!”
You Zhao Chen: “…”
Behind You Zhao Chen, Jiang Chudong crossed her arms and said coldly, “Being sold and still counting money for them. Our mercenary base has to rely on making money from the outer districts. You said you’d approve money for the outer district exploration team, but it’s been dragging on for so long. Now you can come up with money for useless things like gene registration. Which one of you is the district chief?”
Liao Yuan was choked, his eyes widening. “You – I -”
“Forget it, she’s just like that. Boss, don’t take it personally.” You Zhao Chen stopped him. “But what Jiang Chudong said isn’t unreasonable. Our mercenary base has always been used as a tool, especially after those guys upstairs came, they replaced a lot of our mercenaries. The brothers have a lot of complaints recently…”
He was talking about the Silver Saddle Team. Since Liang Huan didn’t plan to reveal his identity, the Silver Saddle Team was publicly declared to be Liang Huan’s bodyguard squad.
Listening to You Zhao Chen’s words, Liao Yuan’s expression grew increasingly ugly.
“You Zhao Chen, you’re up.” Su Murong was in charge of gene collection.
You Zhao Chen put the collector on his wrist, and various data quickly popped up on the collection light screen. He smiled and said, “How is it, Senior? Especially healthy?”
“All indicators are stable, and mental power is good.” Su Murong carefully observed the data. “But I remember your physical fitness was 2S in college, why has it dropped to S now?”
“Probably because I always drag Jiang Mufeng out for a drink.” You Zhao Chen said helplessly. “Can’t help it when you get older. You have to find a hobby to pass the time. Senior, want to join?”
“Get out of here.” Su Murong scolded him with a smile, and put away the collector. “Next, Jiang Chudong.”
Jiang Chudong stubbed out her cigarette and threw it into the nearby trash can, exchanged glances with You Zhao Chen, and sat down.
—
“Brother Liang, it’s been found out.” Deng Meng placed a complete report on the desk, carefully watching Liang Huan’s expression. “Fifty billion, all went through Liao Yuan’s personal account.”
Li Yao, who was doing maintenance on Jinbao, looked up and looked at Liang Huan.
“Did you investigate this yourself?” Liang Huan asked.
“Yes, everyone is busy with gene registration these days, no one noticed, even Lu Biao doesn’t know.” Deng Meng said. “Thanks to the chip Brother Li gave me, I tracked dozens of banks. The money was eventually distributed to a dozen mercenaries’ accounts, but the accounts are managed by the mercenary base, so the authority is ultimately in Liao Yuan’s hands. Liao Yuan is the most suspicious.”
Li Yao came over and picked up the report. “That brain of his isn’t up to it.”
Liang Huan said, “For money, he can even resell the corpses of mercenaries to the laboratory.”
“So you think Liao Yuan wanted to embezzle the fifty billion, so he killed Chen Jia to silence him?” Li Yao leaned against the desk.
“Dead men tell no tales. If Yue Hang hadn’t infiltrated the military and obtained Chen Jia’s chip, and you didn’t have the ability to restore destroyed chips, no one would have found out about him.” Liang Huan casually tugged at his slightly wrinkled clothes. “He was also the one caught in the net that day.”
Both the evidence and the motive all pointed to Liao Yuan.
Li Yao didn’t follow his words.
Liang Huan glanced at Deng Meng, Deng Meng understood, and turned to leave the office.
“Do you have other suspects?” Liang Huan took the report.
Li Yao said, “When I came in through the window, I caught a glimpse of that person. The figure didn’t look like Liao Yuan.”
“Who do you think it looks like?” Liang Huan asked.
Li Yao shook his head. “Not sure.”
Liang Huan got up and patted him on the shoulder. “Don’t think too much, this matter has nothing to do with you, you don’t need to wade into this muddy water.”
Li Yao raised his eyebrows. “You were almost shot in the head, you call that nothing to do with it?”
Liang Huan smiled slightly. “I don’t have any title or status here, what does it have to do with me?”
“Then what kind of title do you want?” Li Yao reached out and scratched his chin. “Do you want to be a wife or a lover?”
Liang Huan grabbed his wrist. “I’m not picky.”
Li Yao understood, and said with ill intentions, “Then let’s be colleagues, at least I can accompany you to work overtime.”
He touched Liang Huan’s face, turned around and leisurely returned to the lounge.
Liang Huan watched the door of the lounge close, picked up the report that Li Yao had copied, and couldn’t help but laugh.
Ha, colleague.
He turned to ask Jinbao, “Do I usually work a lot of overtime?”
Jinbao was sitting on the carpet picking out a new skin. Hearing this, he said, “Master, your daily working hours have far exceeded the average level of the Eastern District base. In the last anonymous questionnaire survey, the satisfaction of the employees of the Administrative Court Building with you was only 43.7%. More than half of the employees requested to reduce working hours and increase rest time. A total of one hundred and twenty anonymous opinions, I have sent to your mailbox.”
The air pressure around Liang Huan slowly lowered. “Who filled out the dissatisfaction?”
Jinbao said, “Sorry Master, this is personal privacy, Jinbao has no right to disclose it.”
Liang Huan slowly narrowed his eyes and said displeased, “If you don’t work hard, will so many people in the Eastern Third District drink the northwest wind?”
However, it is normal for an emperor not to be cared for by his subjects.
Liang Huan digested it for a moment, and with a straight face issued an announcement about leaving work one hour early, and very “low-key”ly bolded his name and seal at the end of the announcement.
—
Jiang Mufeng was a little surprised when he received Li Yao’s communication. “Why did you think of calling me?”
Li Yao’s voice was a little smiling. “To notify you that I’m still alive.”
Jiang Mufeng heard the other party laugh and said uncertainly, “Congratulations?”
“There’s nothing to congratulate about surviving, I’m just very happy that I can leave work early today.” Li Yao paused and laughed. “Someone was stimulated by a super-low anonymous satisfaction rate, and rarely found his conscience.”
“…” Jiang Mufeng was silent.
“Come out for a drink?” Li Yao asked.
Jiang Mufeng’s chip vibrated, he glanced at the sender and said, “I have an appointment.”
Li Yao laughed. “Then forget it.”
“You can come along.” Jiang Mufeng said.
“I’m not going, I’m still going to comfort my wife at home.” Li Yao sighed faintly. “You don’t know how clingy he is now, he’s so nervous about my minor injuries, he can’t leave me at all, and he has to propose to me. He looks at me so aggrieved, I want to agree when my heart softens, I almost couldn’t hold it – hello?”
The disconnected communication crackled twice.
Li Yao knocked on the chip dissatisfiedly. “Tsk.”
Jiang Mufeng left the building on time after work. A familiar hovercar was parked at the parking place. You Zhao Chen poked his head out and smiled at him. “Lawyer Jiang, let’s go.”
Jiang Mufeng sat in the passenger seat. “Busy today?”
“Not busy.” You Zhao Chen raised his hand and looked at the numbers on his watch. “I’m here on time, not a second off.”
He handed Jiang Mufeng a bottle of water.
Jiang Mufeng took it and unscrewed it, placed it aside, and said, “Li Yao just called me and wanted to ask me out for a drink.”
“Yo, he’s finally willing to come out for a drink. Recently he’s been sticking with Liang Huan every day, they’re almost one person.” You Zhao Chen started the car. “I knew I’d pick him up on the way.”
“He’s not coming.” Jiang Mufeng said.
You Zhao Chen laughed self-deprecatingly. “Looks like I sent the message too early.”
“Yeah.” Jiang Mufeng turned to look at the scenery passing by quickly outside the window and touched the watch on his wrist.
At the same time, the Eastern Third District Administrative Court.
Jing Si put the key on Deng Meng’s desk, glanced at the densely packed report on the light screen, and asked with a smile, “Brother Deng, what are you busy with? I didn’t even see you when I was doing gene registration.”
“I recorded it in advance, I’ve been so busy with Chen Jia’s affairs recently.” Deng Meng sighed. “This day after day.”
Jing Si glanced at the report on the screen. “Wasn’t Chen Jia killed by someone from the military? Is there really a problem?”
Deng Meng looked around cautiously, and beckoned to him. “I’ll tell you some inside news, but don’t tell anyone else.”
Jing Si leaned over.
Deng Meng said in a low voice, “Chen Jia was in charge of the accounts of the Eastern Third District, there’s a problem with the accounts in his hand. Now Brother Liang has found out about Liao Yuan.”
Jing Si was surprised. “District Chief Liao, how is that possible?”
“Liao Yuan wasn’t originally from our Black Market, he can even sell the corpses of mercenaries for money, what’s impossible? Chen Jia must have been killed by someone Liao Yuan instructed.” Deng Meng said full of disdain, “In my opinion, the mercenary base will never be on the same side as us. Because of this, Brother Liang and Brother Li have quarreled several times.”
Jing Si sighed. “Then did you find out where the money went?”
“I don’t know about that.” Deng Meng patted him on the shoulder, turned around and closed the light screen. “I won’t say this anymore, it’s not easy to be able to leave work early, I’ve been so tired recently, I’ll leave first, you clean up and hurry up and go back.”
He stretched and went out the door.
Jing Si glanced at the empty room around him, stuck a chip on the mainframe, turned on the light screen that Deng Meng had just turned off, and the dense list of numbers and address codes were reflected in his pupils.
A few minutes later, the lights in the office went out, and Jing Si walked out the door as if nothing had happened. He looked around and left with peace of mind.
In the dark aisle, someone came out, the light of the chip shone on his half of his face, making it look gloomy and stern.
“Brother Liang, that kid Jing Si is really a ghost.”
Facts have proved that there is more than one ghost.
Late at night, the person lying in the treatment pod suddenly got up and looked at the empty space next to him. The person who was being held in his arms had turned into Jinbao.
Jinbao was awakened and looked at his master in confusion sitting on the pillow.
The half-open treatment pod still had the faint smell of anesthetic. Liang Huan picked up the external chip and saw Li Yao’s background picture of comparing his heart to the camera as soon as he opened the light screen. There was a message bubble in that “heart”.
‘I’m going out for a walk, I’ll be back before dawn.’
Liang Huan: “…”
It seems that he was not the only one who saw the coffee stain on You Zhao Chen’s cuff that day.
The bar was crowded and the music was deafening.
Li Yao took out the chip and flipped to the final IP address of Liao Yuan’s account. The code above completely overlapped with the address code of the bar.
His eyes darkened, looking at You Zhao Chen and Jiang Mufeng who were drinking at the bar. You Zhao Chen was wearing a black suit, but it was obviously smaller. Li Yao vaguely remembered that it was Jiang Mufeng’s birthday gift to him in college.
Although it was only a quick glance at the time, he would never mistake You Zhao Chen’s figure. He just couldn’t figure out the reason why the other party would do this, and he was reluctant to think about it.
He took out Chen Jia’s chip and was about to send a communication to You Zhao Chen, but before he could send it, You Zhao Chen, who was drinking, suddenly looked down at the chip, his face changed slightly, he said something to Jiang Mufeng, and hurried upstairs.
Li Yao followed silently.
Waiter robots shuttled back and forth in the crowd. The spacious corridor displayed various multi-functional robots. Under the colorful and soft lights, only the slight noise of the elevator running was left.
You Zhao Chen took out a chip and opened the private elevator.
Li Yao squatted on the outer shell of the elevator that was going up. When the elevator was about to reach the floor, he jumped down lightly. The wound vibrated out a layer of sticky blood. He glanced at it in surprise and quickly covered it with a medical sticker.
The style of the top floor of the bar was completely different from below. From the floor to the ceiling, it was flawless white, with no gaps visible. This white was between metal and jade, with a cold sense of tranquility. Only You Zhao Chen’s footsteps were left in the spacious and empty aisle. His black suit that didn’t fit well seemed like a drop of ink flowing into this large area of white, gradually staining it.
At the end of the aisle, two doors were opened from the inside, You Zhao Chen walked in, Li Yao clung to the ceiling, found the ventilation duct, and got in skillfully.
Through the honeycomb-shaped pores of the vent, he clearly saw the structure of the entire room. Countless alcoves were chiseled into the surrounding walls, like horizontally and vertically arranged grids in a honeycomb. Each grid was placed in a transparent experimental pod. Floating inside were humanoid creatures. The reason why they could not be called humans was because these things retained some of the characteristics of heteromorphs, such as tentacles, scales, and even exposed bones. At first glance, they seemed like some kind of crude chimera.
A light screen popped up in the center of the room, and a blurry black figure was displayed on the screen.
“Jing Si sent a message just now, Liang Huan has found out about this bar.” You Zhao Chen rubbed his eyebrows with some headache. “But we used Liao Yuan’s account, he shouldn’t suspect me yet.”
“Chen Jia’s chip has been completely destroyed, how did he find out?” the person on the screen asked.
“How would I know?” The established steps were interrupted, You Zhao Chen’s tone was a little irritable. “I didn’t agree to this plan in the first place. The Administrative Court of the Eastern Third District will never become anything. You killed Chen Jia, and I alarmed Liang Huan in order to wipe your ass.”
“Do you think five billion is a small number? The Eastern Third District can earn five billion in a few months. Now Li Mingxing and New Coordinates are in Liang Huan’s hands. Accessing the main track requires a large number of mechas as signal tower support. If you let the Eastern Third District develop now, in the future, Liang Huan will get enough mechas and be the first to get the new coordinates, everything we have done before will be in vain.” the other party said.
You Zhao Chen’s expression froze. “I understand.”
“It’s good to understand. No matter what method you use, you must interfere with the mission of the exploration team of the Eastern Third District. You must not give Liang Huan a chance to breathe, and eliminate him when necessary.” The person paused. “I heard that Li Yao had a major operation after he was rescued?”
“According to the information I have, Liang Huan and Li Yao both had surgery at the time. The researcher who performed the surgery was Yang Liduan, who was Chuan Wu’s former assistant.” You Zhao Chen said. “And this operation is -”
Drip.
A slight sound interrupted his words.
Inside the vent on the ceiling, Li Yao looked at the conspicuous drop of blood on the white floor of the room, reached out and touched the medical sticker on his waist, and as expected, he touched a handful of stickiness, he couldn’t help but curse in his heart.
The figure on the light screen disappeared in an instant. You Zhao Chen scanned the surroundings, and finally his eyes stopped at the vent on the ceiling. Due to the experimental pod, the vent was designed to be very tight, with dense round holes. Li Yao met his eyes in the dark without warning, and subconsciously held his breath.
You Zhao Chen touched the gun behind his back. The chip on his wrist suddenly vibrated twice, and then Jiang Mufeng’s drunken voice came from inside: “You Zhao Chen, where did you go, why haven’t you come back yet?”
At the moment he looked down at the chip, someone threw a piece of simulation invisible film down, accurately and unerringly covering the drop of blood, completely merging with the pure white floor.
Li Yao was about to turn his head when that cold hand covered his mouth, and in the next second the whole person leaned over, almost pushing him down directly.
In the room, You Zhao Chen said to Jiang Mufeng: “I’m in the bathroom, I’ll be back soon, drink less.”
Jiang Mufeng’s laughter came from the chip.
You Zhao Chen hung up the communication, glanced at the water droplets on the ground, and sneered: “It turned out to be a leak.”
After turning off some equipment, he turned around and left the room.
In the narrow ventilation duct, Li Yao slapped the hand covering his mouth and nose hard.
Liang Huan loosened a little bit of strength with great mercy, and the other hand accurately touched the medical sticker that had been soaked in blood on his waist in the dark: “This is the first time I’ve seen someone who can walk into the ventilation duct.”
Li Yao didn’t feel guilty at all for being caught, and said with a straight face: “Purely a personal hobby.”
The hand covering his wound suddenly exerted force, Li Yao was in pain, snorted abruptly, and was covered again, swallowing the curse back into his throat.
“Sorry, I wasn’t careful.” Liang Huan considerately replaced him with a brand new medical sticker. As soon as he was about to let go, a stabbing pain came from the tiger’s mouth. He let go too late and was retaliated with a solid bite.
“I wasn’t careful either.” The veins on Li Yao’s forehead jumped. “Get up, don’t you know how heavy you are?”
Liang Huan relaxed his strength and pressed himself on him, sighing helplessly: “Thanks to your anesthetic, I can’t move at all now.”
The ventilation duct was already narrow, and Liang Huan had to squeeze in. Li Yao felt like a flattened rubber band. He said with a broken jar: “So your old man crawled over, it’s really hard work.”
Liang Huan stroked his slightly damp hair, heard the words and laughed, and directly buried his face in the back of Li Yao’s neck: “You’re a little hot, do you have a fever?”
Li Yao lay on the vent without temper, feeling that his face was about to be pressed into a honeycomb, and opened his mouth half-deadly: “I left a message for you, I really didn’t want to run away, I swear.”
Where he couldn’t see, the coldness in Liang Huan’s eyes diminished slightly, and he smiled very gently in the darkness: “I know.”
Li Yao patted his chest: “Let’s talk about it when we go back.”
—
In the middle of the night, a few lights were still sparsely lit in the Administrative Court Building.
Li Yao was almost stripped naked, he sat in the treatment pod aggrievedly, and said righteously: “Su Murong and they specifically told me that I can’t let you do strenuous activities, and you are now more high-risk than me. What I put on you wasn’t an anesthetic, it was a newly developed sleep-aid aromatherapy – hiss, you be gentle.”
Liang Huan looked at the values on the display screen, raised his eyelids and glanced at him: “When did you listen to the doctor so much?”
Li Yao raised his arm and let him tie on the instrument: “After I was rescued by you.”
Liang Huan was silent for a moment and said: “What did you originally want to do with Chen Jia’s chip?”
Li Yao took out Chen Jia’s portable chip and handed it to him: “Although all the evidence points to Liao Yuan, based on my understanding of him, he doesn’t have the guts, and he won’t suffer from cooperating with us. As long as he has a long-term vision, he won’t be able to do this.”
Liang Huan remained noncommittal: “You want to test You Zhao Chen.”
“It’s useless.” Li Yao raised his eyebrows: “You did it, right?”
“You Zhao Chen goes to the bar to drink with Jiang Mufeng every Tuesday without fail, and the largest sum of money distributed from Liao Yuan’s account went to this bar.” Liang Huan said, “When Chen Jia was killed, You Zhao Chen was in the Administrative Court Building, he didn’t have the conditions to do it, someone else did it.”
“Jing Si?” Li Yao said.
Liang Huan nodded: “Jing Si has been very close to Chen Jia during this period of time, it’s not difficult for him to kill Chen Jia in the chaos with his skills, but we don’t have any evidence.”
Li Yao remembered the communication You Zhao Chen received before going upstairs, and slowly narrowed his eyes: “So you set a trap for them, even if I don’t go, you’ll go there today.”
Liang Huan avoided the important and took the light: “What are you going to do now?”
“Of course, it’s to pay for the murder and pay back the money, you don’t have to worry.” Li Yao turned over with his arms as a pillow, facing him.
“No matter what, You Zhao Chen is also your brother, if you mind, I -” Liang Huan lowered his head and looked at the hand he was holding on his thigh, his voice paused.
Li Yao had a business-like attitude: “Not necessarily a brother, you also saw it on the top floor of the bar, so many chimeras of heteromorphs and humans.”
“Then verify it.” Liang Huan said.
Li Yao nodded, his claws refused to move for a long time, and asked very humbly: “Where did you get so much strength?”
Although he didn’t intend to resist at the time in the pipe, he also used a lot of strength. Liang Huan was able to press him motionless and almost suffocated him. If the other party was not Liang Huan, he would have done it long ago.
Liang Huan let him touch him indiscriminately, without changing his face, and said: “I was born this way.”
Li Yao: “?”
—
“One of the most terrible abilities of advanced heteromorphs is that they can devour, or completely integrate human genes, and manipulate themselves to become a human being with a past. As time goes by, their behavior habits and even thinking patterns will be the same as those of the devoured person, and even the closest people will find it difficult to detect after years of getting along.”
Su Murong was wearing a white research uniform, staring at a heteromorph sample in a petri dish that was devouring a human corpse: “This ability of heteromorphs once triggered a collective panic among humans, and even self-doubt appeared. The incidence of human mental illness increased explosively, and society was extremely unstable. Later, the Xingchen Group announced a research result, claiming that they had found a method to identify advanced heteromorphs and a testing drug. People rushed to buy it, and a lot of advanced heteromorphs disguised as humans were indeed caught at that time. The Xingchen Group also made a fortune because of this, and only then did the current Dawn Group come into being.”
Li Yao was studying the new equipment in the laboratory. She turned to look at Liang Huan: “Later, all the advanced heteromorphs withdrew, and the ordinary heteromorphs that remained did not have this ability. Humans divided these ordinary heteromorphs into four categories: special, high, medium, and low. The general public knows very little about real advanced heteromorphs, so who do you suspect is an advanced heteromorph?”
“Not sure yet.” Liang Huan didn’t answer directly.
Su Murong said that he understood very well: “The humans disguised by advanced heteromorphs are almost identical to the real ones. A small number of scholars once published related papers, and they believed that whether from an objective point of view or from an ethical and moral point of view, this ability of advanced heteromorphs would not cause real harm to humans, and some people even wanted to develop human care projects to allow advanced heteromorphs to replace emotional comfort robots under strict monitoring. Of course, this aroused strong opposition from most people, and was finally scolded.”
Li Yao sneered: “Sick.”
“It’s really sick.” Su Murong said with her arms folded, “The fresher the corpse devoured by the advanced heteromorph, the more similar it is to the person himself. Although no one has ever seen an advanced heteromorph devour a living person and completely replace him, who knows?”
“You mean, the Dawn Group has a drug that can identify heteromorphs disguised as humans?” Liang Huan said.
Su Murong nodded: “Xingchen Group is the predecessor of Dawn Group, their drug formulas are all recorded. If you can get it, I can help you upgrade it.”
But because of the Chuan Wu laboratory incident before, the Eastern Third District and the Dawn Group had already fallen out, and the possibility of getting the medicine through formal channels was slim.
Liang Huan glanced at the ceiling.
Shuangta climbed down from the wall with both hands and feet, grinning and smiling silently: “I request three days off.”
“Okay.” Liang Huan agreed very readily.
Shuangta was skeptical: “You can’t let Ling Xuan assign homework either.”
Liang Huan nodded expressionlessly, Shuangta laughed uncontrollably, and climbed out of the laboratory window strangely and unrestrainedly.
Su Murong, who was frightened and stuck to the experimental pod, was sweating coldly: “Next time you bring this kind of thing into my laboratory, please tell me in advance.”
Li Yao gloated: “Mu Bo used to stay by your side every day.”
Su Murong’s expression was complicated, and after a long time he said: “Mu Bo is so cute, and he is also a victim of the Chuan Wu experiment, not a pure heteromorph.”
Li Yao had an expression that it was as expected, he looked at Liang Huan: “This is the horror of heteromorphs.”
Liang Huan held his shoulder and took him out of the laboratory.
“Brother Liang, everything is ready, just waiting for your order to depart!” Deng Meng ran over and handed them two backpacks.
Li Yao took the two bags with one hand, very casually showed off his arm muscles, hung the two backpacks behind him, and strode out of the Administrative Court Building.
Liang Huan looked at his smug back and said happily: “Okay.”
Deng Meng was a little worried: “This is the first mission of the outer district exploration team, and there are many people from the mercenary base inside. Brother Liang, why don’t you let the brothers from the Silver Saddle Team follow?”
“They have other tasks.” Liang Huan patted him on the arm: “Take care of the house, discuss more with Ling Xuan and Lu Biao if anything happens, and contact Ye Zhen in case of emergency.”
Deng Meng nodded vigorously: “Brother Liang, don’t worry, leave it to me.”
Liang Huan smiled and went out the door.
Outside the Administrative Court Building, dozens of off-road vehicles were ready to go. Each vehicle was loaded with weapons, and team members wearing unified exploration team uniforms were checking the equipment. The logistics department was collecting data, and behind them were three large mechas, namely the Shenfeng left by the Black Market, the Red Queen purchased from the Mecha Competition, and Liang Huan’s private collection of the Black Emperor mecha.
Liao Yuan was calculating the cost of this trip hard, Geng Lin followed him to count, and Ling Xuan shook his head helplessly next to him.
At the front of the team, Li Yao was studying the three mechas with You Zhao Chen. The two people gestured when they got excited. Li Yao hooked You Zhao Chen’s neck and pressed him down with a smile. Jiang Chudong was leaning against the car and smoking, looking at Jiang Chuxia in the middle of the team. Jiang Chuxia still had two colorful ponytails, holding a lollipop and saying goodbye to Ai Xiaoli. Ai Li touched her son’s little head and was telling Zhou Suiyu something opposite her… At the end of the team, a young man in a suspender skirt peeking out from the uniform poked his head out of the car window, holding a chip and taking pictures with the mecha.
“Hello friends, I’m your cutest Mi Hui. This is the first mission of our Eastern Third District Outer District Exploration Team. The leaders are our Deputy District Chief Liang Huan and Instructor Li Yao. I heard that this time we will go to the heteromorph Jungle in the west of the base. I will regularly publish exploration photos for you, love you~”
Liang Huan looked at the front of the convoy along the crowd. Li Yao was sitting on the roof of the car looking up at the three mechas. He noticed his gaze and turned his head to give him a flamboyant and bright smile.
Liang Huan pressed down the corners of his mouth and strode towards him.
“Attention all members of the exploration team, prepare to depart now.”
“Destination: Western Heteromorph Jungle.”
