MAPF Chapter 46
by BLReadsChapter 46 Indirect Kiss “Carry You”
Xie Shiwei remembered He Qin being quite a germaphobe; the screening room was always as clean as if no one lived there. How could he eat his ice cream cone?
“I’ve always been rather frugal,” He Qin said calmly.
Then, under Xie Shiwei’s gaze, he slowly took a bite of the ice cream cone.
The fragrance of rose and the milky aroma of the crispy shell exploded in his mouth.
He watched Xie Shiwei’s fair ears slowly turn red and his slightly shocked expression, and his mood, which had been irritated by Xie Shiwei’s protectiveness towards Qiao Lin, gradually improved.
So easily teased, yet he spends every day fawning over other men.
.
Xie Shiwei’s heart pounded.
He thought he must be out of his mind.
Otherwise, there was no way to explain why, when he saw He Qin biting the ice cream cone, he instantly thought that they were indirectly kissing.
Qiao Lin was one thing, but the person eating the ice cream cone was He Qin!
Bai An’s destined other half, who was sometimes sarcastic, sometimes cold, sometimes unpredictable towards him, and also impotent!
But the truth was undeniable.
After all, he had almost… licked the entire ice cream cone, and the spot where He Qin bit was the part he had bitten most thoroughly.
Xie Shiwei suddenly felt very hot. Under He Qin’s gaze, he turned around somewhat awkwardly, pulling at the hem of his T-shirt to fan himself, and quickly ran to the convenience store to buy a bottle of ice water to press against his face, despising his own thirst.
Maybe He Qin was just being frugal, unable to finish the whole thing, so he let him eat half first, and then he would eat the other half, with no other meaning.
It was his thoughts that were impure; he could even turn eating an ice cream cone into a kiss.
Yes.
That must be it.
Xie Shiwei spent five minutes building himself up psychologically, going through all the moments He Qin had mocked him in recent days in his mind, before stopping and waiting for He Qin to catch up, asking with a smile how he knew they were out of cat food.
“Qiu Chen told me.”
Three messages from Qiu Chen were lying in He Qin’s phone.
First message: [He always, Little Xie always seems very interested in the handsome guy who just came to our office, from the R&D department, looks like you.]
Second message: [He always, danger, Little Xie always asked the handsome guy about his sexual orientation, isn’t he planning to cheat during the marriage, did you two quarrel?]
Third message: [He always, Little Xie always went to an offline event with the handsome guy, the cat food is running out, there’s a pet store downstairs in your company, I’ve said all I can! Attached location link.]
Xie Shiwei said “Oh.”
Their work updates would be shared in the group, and it wasn’t surprising that Qiu Chen did this, caring about the overall situation.
“But you actually accepted her friend request, that’s rare,” he said. He knew that He Qin believed in the principle of minimalism and didn’t contact people he wasn’t familiar with at all.
“I make exceptions occasionally.”
But He Qin initially refused, the reason being that work messages could be communicated within the group, until Qiu Chen sent another friend verification message:
[He always, Little Xie always is going to cheat!]
.
The seaside park was beautiful in the evening, with streetlights on both sides of the cobblestone path.
The two walked along the park path towards the sea. The cool sea breeze with its humidbreath blew over the shore, causing Xie Shiwei’s white T-shirt to billow back and forth.
“This is one of the cleanest seawater swimming areas in Jiangcheng,” He Qin said, putting one hand in his pocket, and lifting his chin towards the shore, “The sand is also the best quality in all of Jiangcheng.”
Xie Shiwei was tempted and walked along the wooden boardwalk to the depths of the beach, taking off his shoes and socks and placing them beside the boardwalk, going down barefoot.
He Qin followed behind him, watching the person in front jumping and skipping happily in the sand, the edges of his jeans rolled up, revealing two fair and slender calves.
Xie Shiwei squatted down, using sand to build a small cake, then went to the seaside to splash in the water.
The seawater was cool, clear, and transparent, enveloping his skin and making him feel very secure.
After taking two steps, he felt a pain in the bottom of his foot, as if he had stepped on a thin, sharp object. Xie Shiwei bent over and saw a luminous object, digging out a white seashell with iridescent colors from the shallow water, holding the seashell and turning to show it to He Qin, only to find that He Qin was looking at him.
That person stood there like a male model, exuding cold arrogance.
Xie Shiwei called He Qin’s name: “A glowing seashell, eh.”
He Qin smiled silently: “Beautiful.”
In fact, he didn’t see the seashell clearly at all, he just thought that Xie Shiwei’s face, illuminated by the distant spotlights, was very beautiful.
Xie Shiwei grinned and put away the small seashell. Two children beside him were splashing water and making a ruckus, and Xie Shiwei was unfortunately caught in the crossfire, his upper garment and half of his face dampened by the flying water droplets.
He feigned anger, pretending to scare the children, but was infected by this carefree joy, shouting to He Qin to be careful because he was going to splash water, then lifted the edge of his pants and kicked out with his leg, creating a wave of water.
He Qin didn’t move, standing in place and getting hit directly.
Xie Shiwei was stunned for a moment: “Why didn’t you dodge?”
He Qin wiped the water droplets from the side of his face: “If I dodged, wouldn’t your effort be wasted?”
“Wow, so cooperative, thank you He always for condescending to play in the water with me,” Xie Shiwei stuffed the seashell into He Qin’s palm, “This is for you, I originally wanted to keep it myself.”
He Qin held the slightly warm seashell and put it in his pocket.
Xie Shiwei was tired of playing, and sat down on the beach, not caring if the fine sand would dirty his expensive clothes.
Looking back, He Qin was standing behind him, so he grabbed his jacket and pulled it down hard.
He Qin was caught off guard and sat down beside Xie Shiwei somewhat awkwardly.
Xie Shiwei mocked him for his low vigilance: “You even ate the ice cream cone I bit, are you still afraid of sand dirtying your clothes? If it does, I’ll wash it for you when we get home.”
He Qin raised an eyebrow: “Do you wash clothes for your other friends too?”
Xie Shiwei was baffled: “What kind of train of thought is that? I’m not a cleaner. The reason I said I could wash it for you is because we live together, and you were pulled down by me.”
He Qin didn’t say anything more. The sky was completely dark, and flowing clouds obscured the moon. The two sat side by side, listening to the gentle waves lapping against the beach, the atmosphere very peaceful.
Xie Shiwei grabbed a handful of sand, letting it slip away from between his fingers: “He Qin, the young man you met today is from our product department, a graduate of a prestigious university, quite handsome, about one meter eighty-five tall…”
“I am too,” He Qin interrupted him, “And taller than him.”
Xie Shiwei was stunned, rather bewildered: “…I know.”
“It’s good that you know.”
Xie Shiwei looked at him suspiciously several times before continuing: “It’s just that he’s bisexual, which doesn’t quite fit my mate selection criteria. Actually, my views are quite outdated too. I know that sexual orientation can’t be changed, that true love is paramount and shouldn’t be constrained by these things, so I’m conflicted about whether to chat with him first and see if it works out…”
“There’s no need,” He Qin interrupted him again.
Xie Shiwei sighed: “You also think that there’s no future for a pure gay person and a bisexual person to be together, right?”
“It has nothing to do with that. He doesn’t seem like a good person.”
“Ah? He’s pretty good. He’s easy to talk to, and considerate, and he looks good to me.”
He Qin said coldly: “Believe it or not.”
Xie Shiwei was too lazy to explain; He Qin was always very harsh towards strangers anyway.
The two sat quietly for a while, then suddenly heard He Qin ask: “Xie Shiwei, how much of your feelings for me are left now?”
The lines of He Qin’s profile were somewhat stern in the dim night, and Xie Shiwei glanced at him, remembering how he had blushed just because He Qin ate his ice cream cone, feeling somewhat guilty.
Subjectively, he completely regarded He Qin as a friend, but this person completely fit his aesthetic, and other than his bad temper and slightly lacking hardware, he was simply flawless, so objectively speaking, He Qin wasn’t completely unattractive to him.
But in order to reassure He Qin, Xie Shiwei cleared his throat: “Don’t worry, it’s basically zero, otherwise I wouldn’t be asking you for advice on this kind of issue, right? I really treat you as a friend now. Once your team gets the Crystalline Material sorted out, I’ll go with you to sign the divorce agreement.”
He Qin lowered his eyes upon hearing this.
Although he had guessed early on that Xie Shiwei didn’t have much interest in him, hearing it with his own ears still made him feel quite bad.
After all, he had never been ignored in matters of the heart, losing the initiative.
This kind of feeling was quite new.
He tried to be as composed as possible: “Understood. By the way, what I meant just now was, I hope you don’t downgrade in love. At least don’t be too much worse than me.”
Xie Shiwei reacted for a moment and understood: “Of course, my requirements are still very high.”
The two walked back on the sand, returning to the boardwalk. Xie Shiwei shook the sand off his feet and was about to put on his shoes when he cried out in agony: “Where are my shoes!”
He searched back and forth along the boardwalk for a long time, but to no avail.
He Qin asked: “What did they look like? I’ll help you find them.”
Xie Shiwei was stumped by the question.
He didn’t remember. The original owner’s things were all very expensive, and he didn’t recognize some of the brands, but Qiao Mu had taken a full-body photo of him and Qiao Lin before they left in the afternoon. The shoes should be in it.
Xie Shiwei found the photo and showed it to He Qin.
The first thing He Qin saw was Qiao Lin standing close to Xie Shiwei, his fingers clasped on Xie Shiwei’s thin shoulder.
He coldly zoomed in on the photo, pushing Qiao Lin off the screen, and saw the shoes: “Balenciaga’s New Year limited edition, it’s normal to lose them if you just leave them by the side of the road like that.”
“I don’t recognize them,” Xie Shiwei said, aggrieved.
Completely unaware that this was yet another flaw he had revealed.
He Qin couldn’t find them either, confirming that the shoes had already changed hands. He looked at Xie Shiwei’s fair feet treading on the soft sand: “Lin Ying has already driven the car to the entrance. I’ll carry you over.”
Xie Shiwei shook his head: “I’ll walk myself.”
He stepped onto the boardwalk with large strides, yelping as he was pricked by broken wood chips.
“Sure you don’t want to get on?” He Qin raised an eyebrow, having anticipated this.
“Then thank you,” Xie Shiwei no longer declined, “I’ll make you fresh rose dew to drink when we get home.”
He Qin turned his back to Xie Shiwei, bending over slightly. Xie Shiwei put his arms around his neck and leaned forward, placing his center of gravity on He Qin’s broad back. His thighs were supported by He Qin, and his whole body was jolted forward, his chin hitting He Qin’s shoulder socket.
Xie Shiwei’s face heated up again.
He Qin had given him many firsts.
Perhaps because of drowsiness and fatigue, Xie Shiwei relaxed his mind, and said in He Qin’s ear: “He Qin, this is the first time I’ve been carried by a man.”
“And last time, at the branch opening, it was also the first time I was carried by a man, eh.”
“It was even a princess carry.”
He Qin’s ear canal was numbed by the warm air exhaled by Xie Shiwei, and he paused, tilting his head slightly to see Xie Shiwei’s extremely long eyelashes.
He steadied his mind and carried the person towards the parking lot.
