    Chapter 61: Kiss, Lies

Inside the apartment bedroom, the air conditioner gently circulated air. Xie Shiwei lay on the clamshell bed, breathing steadily under a thin blanket.

As the sun climbed over the treetops, dazzling sunlight streamed in through the gaps in the blinds.

When he woke up, Xie Shiwei’s mind was a mess. For a long time, he couldn’t remember where he was.

He supported himself on the edge of the bed and slowly sat up, his body aching.

There was a glass of warm water on the bedside table. Xie Shiwei picked it up and took a few sips. In a flash, fragmented memories flickered in his blank mind.

Xie Shiwei cursed under his breath.

He had moved yesterday. After taking a shower at night and packing his things, he had drunk a few sips of iced water.

But that wasn’t ordinary juice, it was aphrodisiac alcohol!

The effects were immediate. He lost control and then asked He Qin to help him…

    Then what happened?!

Xie Shiwei couldn’t remember again, his face instantly paled, and a bad feeling welled up in his heart. He quickly lifted the blanket and looked down to check himself.

The bathrobe he had worn after showering last night was gone, replaced by a loose T-shirt that was just long enough to cover his butt.

Xie Shiwei slammed his eyes shut again, feeling like he wanted to die.

He took a deep breath, his face red all the way to his ears. Heart as dead as ashes, he lifted the hem of his shirt, opening one eye to peek. Fortunately, there were no ambiguous marks on his body.

He breathed a sigh of relief.

Damn it, but it wasn’t much better! His clothes were all off. Didn’t that mean He Qin had seen him naked?!

Xie Shiwei got up with a complicated expression, cautiously pushing the door open a crack like a thief. Unfortunately, outside the crack was He Qin’s pair of cold, sharp, and narrow phoenix eyes.

Through a layer of lenses, Xie Shiwei felt like he was being burned by his gaze. His whole face and neck were unbearably hot.

He laboriously opened the door and asked mechanically, “Yesterday, you, me, we…”

He Qin looked at him, his tone calm, “Don’t let your imagination run wild. Nothing happened. I threw you in the bathtub to cool down and changed your clothes with my eyes closed.”

Xie Shiwei avoided He Qin’s eyes, “Really?”

“Yes.” He Qin’s gaze slid over Xie Shiwei’s slender, completely bare legs, “Go wash up, then change your clothes. I ordered breakfast. It will be delivered later.”

Afraid of exposing himself, Xie Shiwei took small, quick steps away.

    .

After he left, He Qin’s expression instantly changed.

His eyes fell on the quilt scattered across the bed, his fingers caressing the edge of the dark red sheet.

    He lied.

Last night, Xie Shiwei was flushed red inside and out, his clothes half-falling off, the dampness from his hair wetting his chest, his eyes also red. He just looked at him like that, his slender white legs rubbing against the pillow in a chaotic manner.

It was too much of a shock. It instantly snapped the string in He Qin’s head.

He Qin wished he was blind or could block out all his senses with one click.

But he wasn’t, and he couldn’t.

He knew what might happen if he went over, knew that Xie Shiwei might be furious when he woke up, but he still walked closer step by step.

Teary-eyed, Xie Shiwei looked at him and made some ambiguous sounds, trying to sit up, but slid down powerlessly.

    “He Qin…”

The voice was soft, weak, and filled with an unprecedented coquettishness, like a drowning cat.

He Qin’s scalp went numb at his call.

He turned off the lights, leaving only the dimmest wall lamp, and leaned over to hug Xie Shiwei’s waist and back, his throat tight, “Bear with it, I’ll take you for a cold shower.”

Before he could finish speaking, his lips were blocked by Xie Shiwei’s.

Soft lips, carrying the scent of alcohol, pressed against his.

It was just lip-to-lip, but the person kissing him used force, pressing against each other, their breathing disordered.

He Qin stiffened instantly, as if an electric current was surging through his limbs. He used all his reason to retreat, but Xie Shiwei went further, softly hooking his neck, his fair chest against his, continuing to kiss him hard.

It burned away all of He Qin’s rationality.

He Qin hesitated for only a second before deepening the kiss.

He was a natural, kissing with supernatural skill, like a prairie fire.

Xie Shiwei was comforted and let out a very satisfied moan.

Xie Shiwei was completely hanging on him. He Qin opened his closed eyes, his heartbeat chaotic.

Having tasted the sweetness, but he had reached his limit, another kiss and something would happen.

When he left Xie Shiwei’s lips, He Qin licked them lingeringly, Xie Shiwei trembled in his arms.

He Qin pinched his palm hard, frowning as he sorted out his messy thoughts, picked up Xie Shiwei horizontally, and walked into the bathroom.

He didn’t turn on the lights. Using the moonlight from outside the window, avoiding sensitive areas, and trying not to look at Xie Shiwei’s body, he took off his bathrobe and carried him into the already filled bathtub.

The doorbell rang. Lin Ying delivered the medicine.

Lin Ying had finally managed to contact someone to find the fastest-acting antidote. With a meaningful look, he explained the precautions for taking the medicine to He Qin, including the side effect of temporary amnesia. Before leaving, he saw that his boss’s lips were much redder than usual, and quickly lowered his head, averting his eyes.

He Qin fed Xie Shiwei the medicine, keeping the water in the bathtub at a constant temperature of thirty degrees.

Slightly cool, most suitable for cooling down.

After a while, the redness on Xie Shiwei’s body faded, He Qin drained the water from the bathtub and wrapped Xie Shiwei in a bath towel.

Xie Shiwei passed out. He Qin rummaged through the cabinets, found a T-shirt to put on him, dried his hair, and carried Xie Shiwei to lie on the clamshell bed.

Then he took care of himself.

The bathroom was still very dark, the soft and intense kiss still lingering around him, closed his eyes, in front of him was Xie Shiwei’s flushed face, in his ears were his fragmented moans,

    The feeling came quickly.

He Qin calmed down for a while, cleaned up, and went to wash his hands, seeing in the mirror a face that was somewhat unfamiliar to him.

Filled with love and desire, all because of Xie Shiwei, so he could not let Xie Shiwei go.

    .

Xie Shiwei went to the bathroom to wash up.

Looking at himself in the mirror, there wasn’t a single ambiguous mark on his face or neck. Just his lips were a little red.

He touched them with his index finger, and suddenly trembled, his eyes flashed with He Qin’s face and some blurred light and shadow.

    Such a strange feeling.

The effects of the aphrodisiac alcohol were actually this strong.

Xie Shiwei rubbed his temples and stopped dwelling on it. He washed his face and changed into the new clothes He Qin had prepared for him.

Back in the living room, breakfast was laid out on the table.

Plain porridge with side dishes, a very healthy meal.

“Come eat.” He Qin called him.

Xie Shiwei’s lips suddenly felt that strange sensation again, and he touched his mouth again, “He Qin, I really didn’t do anything yesterday, did I?”

    “You did.” He Qin said.

Xie Shiwei’s breath hitched, horrified, “What did I do?!”

He Qin said calmly, “You kissed me.”

Xie Shiwei’s face was pale, supporting himself on the doorframe, already prepared to flee the apartment.

Then He Qin smiled, “Just teasing you, look how scared you are. Yesterday you didn’t do anything to me, you just hugged that pig and gnawed on it for a long time.”

Xie Shiwei looked at the sofa, where there was indeed a pink pig pillow.

He glared at He Qin angrily, “If you scare me again, you can get out.”

“Sorry,” He Qin beckoned, “Come on, it’ll get cold if you don’t eat soon.”

Although He Qin acted like he had seen the world, Xie Shiwei still felt very ashamed and indignant when he sat opposite him to eat. He felt that the way he hugged the pig and gnawed on it probably wasn’t very attractive.

After all, he was also a young man in his prime.

    .

Xie Shiwei didn’t see He Qin for three whole days because of this incident, constantly brainwashing himself that this little thing didn’t matter. It wasn’t until Chen Ning and Bai An’s parentage test results came out, He Qin rushed to get them first, and called to say he would deliver them to him, that Xie Shiwei had no choice but to meet He Qin.

He had already renovated the apartment inside and out. The flashy bedroom had become simple and clean, and all the drinks in the refrigerator had been thrown away, replaced with proper tea.

Xie Shiwei took the test report from He Qin’s hand, somewhat unnaturally offering He Qin the snacks he had recently bought. Avoiding eye contact when possible.

He Qin tasted a piece of butter cookie, “How long are you going to keep your head down?”

Xie Shiwei raised his head in shame and indignation, “Don’t stand there and talk without understanding! If you accidentally drank that stuff and were the one hugging a pillow and gnawing on it, and all your awkwardness was seen by me, wouldn’t you be embarrassed?”

He Qin nodded in agreement, “Not embarrassed.”

    Xie Shiwei: “…”

“It’s human nature. You can’t maintain your sanity after drinking that kind of thing. I won’t discriminate against you.”

“Well, thank you for that.” Xie Shiwei gritted his teeth and stopped looking down.

Anyway, they were both men. Since He Qin had said so, he might as well take advantage of it. So what if he was horny, ha.

    .

The paternity report stated the relationship between Bai An and Chen Ning.

    Definitely mother and son.

After reading it, Xie Shiwei finally breathed a sigh of relief. Before this, he had vaguely worried nonsensically that the crazy author would make a fuss over their relationship, lest they be busy for nothing, and the final appraisal report would say they had no blood relation, then he would become a clown.

Fortunately, they were indeed mother and son, and everything he had done before was not in vain.

He Qin sent the report to Bai An and arranged to meet him at the coffee shop downstairs from the apartment building.

Bai An agreed and arrived on time.

Xie Shiwei didn’t bother with formalities at all, and spoke first, “Bai An, Chen Ning has approached you. What I told you should have been verified, right?”

Bai An looked at Xie Shiwei coldly, without answering.

Xie Shiwei patiently continued to ask, “You already know Chen Ning’s intentions. Are you still planning to listen to her and be used by her?”

He Qin added, “Bai An, no matter what benefits Chen Ning promises you, you just need to be clear about one thing, and that is that I can’t fall in love with you. Chen Ning’s designs on me are wishful thinking.”

Xie Shiwei was on the side, a little amused to hear this.

Because this sentence was especially familiar. When he first came, he didn’t know how many hundreds of times he had heard He Qin say it.

Only the object had changed from him to Bai An.

Bai An said angrily, “You’re monitoring me?”

Xie Shiwei admitted, “It concerns my family. If you don’t cooperate, I have no choice but to use some means myself.”

Bai An found it laughable, but also unexpectedly discovered that there were no big waves in his heart.

He had probably given up on He Qin.

He liked He Qin because He Qin was good to him. But no matter how good He Qin was, it was all in the past, all the good he had done as his brother before. He was wrong from the start, mistaking this kindness for love, wasting many tears in vain.

He Qin could not fall in love with him, ha. Bai An lowered his head and smiled. So what? He also deserved better.

So Bai An didn’t even look at He Qin, “Okay, Xie Shiwei, I won’t fall for Chen Ning’s tricks, because my love isn’t that cheap, and this love doesn’t exist anymore.”

“From now on, we are strangers. If you have anything you want me to cooperate with, I will set a price.”
