SM Chapter 20
by BLReadsChapter 20: Let’s Do It
“See if you’ve been hurt by love.”…
After briefly contemplating for a second, she decisively chose not to reply. Anyway, whether these two end up together or not in the future, they definitely couldn’t coexist harmoniously.
Putting herself in her shoes, it was so upsetting, an impure female friend.
It just so happened that she didn’t find Su Yuewei all that pleasing either. Since they were destined to dislike each other, there was no need to force herself.
Zhu Shihao took a bite of her fried egg, and after thinking about it, felt that it was acceptable for her to pay more attention to his mental state now. Friends shouldn’t overstep boundaries too much, but they had already overstepped as much as possible.
So she looked at him while chewing her fried egg, and watched him as she drank her milk, her gaze direct and undisguised.
Tan Zhi Xu looked up and met her gaze: “What are you looking at?”
She kept her expression normal: “Seeing if you’ve been hurt by love.”
He gave a mocking laugh, and for a moment Zhu Shihao couldn’t tell if he was mocking her words or mocking himself.
“Are you too idle?”
Okay, he was mocking her words.
She lowered her voice and muttered a couple of words: “Wasn’t it pretty tough back then?”
Although with her three relationships that added up to less than a season, she seemed to have little standing to comment on Tan Zhi Xu’s later two “just for fun” relationships, she had to admit that he was still a bit more reliable than her.
At least he was serious when he was with Su Yuewei, and the two of them naturally got together.
It was precisely because she knew Tan Zhi Xu so well that she understood that he liked her back then, and was even more clear on how upset he was after being dumped.
Thinking of this, Zhu Shihao fell silent.
She shouldn’t have asked. It wasn’t about Tan Zhi Xu; it was that she herself wasn’t ready to hear the story between the two of them.
After so many years, now that she had been out of school for so long, she was still affected by those images.
Unconsciously fiddling with the bacon in her bowl, she poked it into three pieces, almost broken apart.
A hand appeared in her line of sight, holding chopsticks, putting the somewhat ruined bacon together and taking it away, then placing a complete piece back in.
“It’s normal to be upset after being dumped, so what? Am I supposed to be upset for the rest of my life?”
In Tan Zhi Xu’s view, this was just a normal thing, and there was never a need to avoid it specifically.
Zhu Shihao nodded, watching him eat the bacon: “That’s right, that shows you were sincere, not a Scumbag who only cares about sex.”
His chewing movement paused, and after swallowing, he looked at her with drooping eyelids, his expression indifferent.
“Miss Zhu, pay attention. I was pretty innocent during my school days, so now I’m improving my technique after being repeatedly told I need to learn.”
The question she had been too embarrassed to ask suddenly and inexplicably got an answer.
Suppressing the joy that suddenly arose in her heart, Zhu Shihao feigned embarrassment and rubbed her nose: “It wasn’t repeatedly, was it?”
“It seems every time you provoke me, it’s all impromptu.” His eyebrow twitched, with a hint of understanding. “In other words, it’s not very serious. So you are satisfied after all.”
Zhu Shihao: “…”
“Did you run out of things to talk about this early in the morning?”
Wasn’t she the one who started it?
Tan Zhi Xu stopped talking to her and tapped his knuckles on the table: “Finish eating.”
Looking at the half-eaten bacon and slices of bread she had left, Zhu Shihao hesitated for two seconds: “How about this, you pick one, and help me share some of it.”
The two looked at each other, and in the end, the one with the colder gaze gave in first.
Picking up the half slice of bacon, Tan Zhi Xu warned blandly: “Finish eating, don’t leave any.”
Okay, she left a big one. She should have known better than to let him choose.
Nibbling on the slices of bread little by little, she looked somewhat dispirited.
Tan Zhi Xu completely ignored her expression, and he had always been heartless when it came to making her finish her three meals.
After she finished eating, he wasn’t in a hurry to leave the table, but just sat across from her, waiting for her to finish. Then he cleared away the plates. “It’s just because you eat slowly that you always had to get up ten minutes earlier when we were students.”
However, getting up early was also painful for her.
Sleeping in and eating slowly were her bad habits since she was little.
Unable to argue, Zhu Shihao held her milk glass and followed behind him.
Looking at the person following closely behind him, Tan Zhi Xu’s voice was low and lazy: “Do you still want to sleep?”
“I don’t want to sleep anymore.” She shook her head.
Tan Zhi Xu took her hand and walked towards the study, commenting, “You’re in good spirits.”
It seemed she could be a little nicer to herself in the future, and ask for more benefits.
However, knowing it was one thing, but naturally she didn’t need to tell him.
“Then keep me company.”
Curled up on the sofa, looking at the person sitting next to her, Zhu Shihao was speechless. Well, keeping him company meant keeping him company while he worked overtime. After being idle for a while, she played with her phone wrapped in a blanket because she was bored.
“Zhi Xu.” Calling out to him, she stretched out her foot and kicked his leg, “Help me get the remote.”
Tan Zhi Xu grabbed her ankle, squeezed it, “Lazy thing.” Saying that, he got up to get the remote and handed it to her.
She retracted her foot and hid it under the blanket, found a movie, but apparently this movie wasn’t interesting enough, and it made her even less energetic.
Zhu Shihao wriggled over towards him. When Tan Zhi Xu noticed, he picked up his laptop and moved it to his left leg. Almost the next second, a heavy pressure appeared on his thigh, a fluffy back of the head facing him.
The corner of his mouth curved upward slightly, he raised his hand to smooth her messy long hair, while the other hand occasionally tapped the keyboard.
After about five or six minutes, Tan Zhi Xu gently patted her cheek: “Don’t lie like this, get up and watch.”
There was no response. He patted her again, and this time there was a response. Zhu Shihao raised her hand and pressed his disturbing hand down.
Realizing something, he sat up straight and glanced at her, a look of helplessness in his eyes. He gently pulled the blanket over her.
“You said you didn’t want to sleep.”
He didn’t work for too long. Closing the laptop, Tan Zhi Xu lowered his eyes and watched her, pinching her face for a while, pinching her nose for a while, watching her open her mouth slightly as if triggered, and then lightly swiping her eyelashes with his fingertips, just generally messing around.
When he was almost done playing, he briefly thought for a moment and reached out to wake up the sleeping beauty.
Zhu Shihao rubbed her eyes and sat up: “Is it time for lunch?”
He said calmly: “No.”
Zhu Shihao: “?”
She randomly grabbed a phone and looked at the time: “I’ve already taken a nap, why did you wake me up so quickly?”
It was only a little past ten-thirty now, which meant that she had slept for an hour at most.
Tan Zhi Xu’s expression was very calm, not guilty in the slightest: “Keep me company, I don’t want to sleep.”
After a moment of silence, her eyes showed accusation.
“…You’ve changed. You weren’t like this before.”
Tan Zhi Xu didn’t take her accusations to heart: “Oh, really?”
Reaching out to scoop her up, the two of them fell backward together, their backs touching something soft.
Perhaps he didn’t have such a high need for companionship before.
Actually, it wasn’t that there was no need, but that it couldn’t be.
Thinking like this, Tan Zhi Xu naturally lowered his head and kissed the top of her head: “What do you want to do this afternoon?”
He woke her up just to ask what she wanted to do this afternoon? Couldn’t he ask at lunchtime, or when the afternoon arrived?
With half of her body’s weight pressing down on him, Zhu Shihao was also lazy: “I don’t know, how about you?”
“Accompany you and watch you.”
“Let’s just stay at home. I don’t want to move.”
If she ran into someone again, it would really ruin her mood.
Speaking of which, she hadn’t replied to her message, and Su Yuewei hadn’t continued to ask.
In college, during their relationship, every time Su Yuewei couldn’t find Tan Zhi Xu, she would send her messages and call her, insisting that Tan Zhi Xu was with her, and that she was deliberately not saying anything.
She was terribly wronged. Even if things were like that, she wouldn’t be able to do such a thing, okay? She had clearly reduced a lot of the time she spent with Tan Zhi Xu since they started dating.
A plain and uneventful afternoon.
For dinner, they ordered in again. Zhu Shihao declared loudly that she had to work tomorrow and would eat something light tonight, but when Tan Zhi Xu picked up the meal that the private chef delivered to the door, closed the door and came back, he was already rummaging through his wine cabinet for wine.
He didn’t say she couldn’t drink, he just glanced at the wine.
“Are you sure?”
Zhu Shihao nodded, slightly raising her chin: “Has this sister ever been afraid of anyone?”
He chuckled: “Yes, even Brother Xu has to listen to you.”
A strange combination, Zhu Shihao wrinkled her face: “Forget it, let’s drink after we finish eating.”
The winter night fell extremely quickly.
Sitting by the floor-to-ceiling windows, looking at the inky sky and the hustle and bustle of the world outside, a prosperous city with vehicles coming and going in an endless stream, from here, it was just a city of lights, like another appearance of the mortal world.
“Zhi Xu, I want to travel.”
Tan Zhi Xu sat across from her, showing no interest in the noise of the outside world. He just shook his wine glass, watching the liquid slosh in the glass.
“Where do you want to go?”
She couldn’t say where she wanted to go. She had no destination.
“I don’t know, I want to go to places that aren’t cities, like grasslands, the sea, mountains, and rivers.”
Tan Zhi Xu responded: “Okay.”
He looked at the beautiful woman in front of him. She hadn’t left the house all day and was still wearing comfortable home clothes, her hair tied low in a ponytail and placed in front of her chest, the long hair swaying in the air against the curve.
Compared to Zhu Suiyi, Zhu Shihao had more obvious Zhu family traits. She was quiet and didn’t like to start disputes, easy-going and not fussy, and she had edges and corners. She had a gentle and kind temper, but she was an authentic action giant.
He never doubted that Zhu Shihao going to bed with him that night was a sudden whim.
Whether it was her appearance, personality, or inner qualities, she was the type that the more you understood her, the more you liked her.
So, who exactly was that secret crush that she never mentioned?
A ripple of emotion rising in his eyes, Tan Zhi Xu propped up his chin, looking lazy: “It’s no fun just drinking. Zhu Shihao, let’s play a game.”
“Ah?” She turned her head and looked at him in surprise. “What are we playing?”
The corners of his lips curved upward, his tone casual, with a hint of undisguised bad intentions: “Truth or dare, and strip poker.”
Truth or dare, and what?
“Shouldn’t it be truth or dare?”
His gaze was meaningful, with a strong possessiveness: “Yes, it’s just the two of us, a fixed item for truth or dare – strip poker, one item at a time.”
Full of question marks, she looked at him, then looked down at herself.
“Really? What is there to take off here?”
The indoor heating was on, and they were both wearing home clothes. There was only one piece of clothing on them.
Tan Zhi Xu laughed meaningfully: “Speaking of which, you have one more item than me. You have an advantage.”
Zhu Shihao found this advantage difficult to understand: “?”
If he was so capable, he should also put on some clothes.
“Chicken out? Sister Hao.”
That address dragged out a long tail, with a clear meaning of instigation.
She snorted: “Chicken out of what? It’s not like I haven’t seen it before.”
She’ll treat it as fun.
Tan Zhi Xu picked up the wine bottle in one hand and picked up the wine glass in front of him with the other hand. He stood up and looked down at her: “I hope you can be just as tough when you take it off.”
Zhu Shihao secretly cheered herself on, telling herself not to back down: “Where to go?”
Tan Zhi Xu didn’t look back, but walked towards the sofa: “I’m more conservative, I wouldn’t dare play in front of the glass window.”
Zhu Shihao: “…”
She didn’t dare either, so she picked up her cup and followed him.
The two sat down on the carpet, and Zhu Shihao asked him: “How do we play? You’re not going to play rock-paper-scissors with me, are you?”
That scene would be simply too beautiful.
Mocking her, Tan Zhi Xu took out his phone: “Log in, 1v1, lose and answer truthfully, if you don’t want to answer, then take a drink and take off an item.”
It was obvious that truth was more cost-effective.
Hearing these words, she vaguely realized something. An idea flashed through her head, but before she could grasp it, she heard him urging.
Her thoughts were interrupted, so she could only obey and turn on the game.
