    Chapter 60: Silent Understanding

“Lin Yun, please take good care of the flowers.” It was rare for her to speak so seriously, with a hint of solemnity.

Lin Yun couldn’t help but feel a little nervous, especially after remembering that this bouquet of flowers was worth five figures. Her eyes widened slightly, and she nodded solemnly, “Okay, we will definitely take good care of them.”

Having received the response, Zhu Shihao turned and ran upstairs. Under the gaze of Li Zi, Sasha, and the others, she walked straight to the workshop, leaving everyone blinking outside.

After about a minute, they saw her wearing a coat, carrying a bag, and holding a scarf as she came out, her pace a bit hurried.

Sasha quickly asked, “Sister Shihao, are you leaving?”

Zhu Shihao didn’t stop, but slowed down slightly, “Yes, I’m skipping work today. You can order milk tea in the afternoon, send me the bill, and I’ll treat.”

Amidst a chorus of “wows,” she quickened her pace again.

This attire clearly indicated she was going out. Zhu Shihao approached the roses, her fingertips gently touching their petals. The card was still in her pocket.

There weren’t as many people in the store at this time. Xi Nan watched her lean over and wink, then took out her phone, aimed it at her, and pressed the shutter several times. After admiring the photos, she found that every one was satisfactory.

Zhu Shihao’s gaze was gentle, as if she could see the person who sent the flowers through them.

Thinking of this, she became even more eager to see him.

    “Lin Yun, help me…”

It was the first time seeing their calm and composed boss like this. The tension from just receiving the important task subsided a little, and they actually found their boss to be really cute.

She interrupted with a giggle, “I know, I know. Even if you didn’t say anything, I would still admire these beautiful flowers enough today. Besides, there are security cameras in the store!”

Xi Nan put away her phone and chimed in with a smile, “Don’t worry, Sister Shihao, we’ll make sure to take good care of your and Tan’s love roses.”

Several customers heard this and looked over with curiosity and kindness.

Zhu Shihao laughed, a beautiful curve appearing on her lips, “Okay, I told Sasha that I’ll treat everyone to milk tea this afternoon, so I’ll leave it to you.”

As she walked out of the store, she looked back and saw Wen Jie, who was explaining clothes to a customer. Wen Jie was stunned for a moment, then smiled and waved at her, and she responded with a wave as well.

Wen Jie had a quiet personality and usually spoke very little, which wasn’t really suitable for this job. But at the same time, she had a kind of settled gentleness, a peace without any aggressiveness, which made her very suitable for this job.

Talking to Wen Jie gave you a sense of inclusiveness, although sometimes Zhu Shihao felt that this inclusiveness wasn’t something that Wen Jie should be happy about.

She was always so lucky to meet such good people.

There were always small bouquets of flowers at the entrance of Fuyu, unattended. You just had to pick one and scan the code to pay. Zhu Shihao paused and looked at them for a while, then walked over and picked a bouquet.

People at the company weren’t surprised to see her. A Dong was the most familiar with her and even asked, “Wow, Sister Shihao, did someone give you those or did you buy them yourself?”

Zhu Shihao lowered her eyes and looked at the flowers. The smile in her eyes was about to overflow. She thought for a moment and said, “Yes, I bought them, to give to my boyfriend.”

After saying that, she didn’t look at the surprised expressions of the people around her, “I’m leaving now, you guys are busy.”

She walked toward Tan Zhi Xu’s office, leaving the curious and surprised gazes behind her.

She forgot to ask if he was the only one inside. She knocked on the door.

Only after hearing the word “enter” did she open the door. The man in the room was still looking down at the documents. His features didn’t show any deliberate expression, but the sense of indifference was extremely strong, so strong that it felt a little unfamiliar to her.

Hearing the sound of the door closing gently, but not seeing anyone speaking or hearing footsteps, Tan Zhi Xu finally looked up.

Across a few meters, Zhu Shihao clearly saw the entire process of his expression changing. Seeing him raise his eyebrows in surprise, the corners of his mouth were already raised as he stood up.

He reached out to her, “Why did you come over?”

Zhu Shihao was held by him, and with her other hand, she handed him the flowers, “I bought them at the entrance of Fuyu, only two digits, but you can’t dislike them.”

He took the simple and somewhat careless bouquet of tulips and sunflowers, and lowered his head to kiss her forehead, “I don’t dislike them. I like them very much.”

Holding her to sit on the office chair, or rather, on his lap, he brushed a stray hair from her cheek behind her ear. After finishing the movement, he didn’t leave, rubbing her ear with his thumb and forefinger.

    “Skipping work?”

“Yes.” Her gaze swept across the lit computer screen and the documents on the table, all of which were things she didn’t understand. She turned to look at him, “I missed you, and after receiving that bouquet of roses, I missed you so, so much.”

Tan Zhi Xu smiled. After she signed for them, she naturally had to send him a photo of the slip.

“You only miss me after seeing the flowers?”

Zhu Shihao shook her head, “I missed you before too, but I couldn’t help it after seeing the flowers.”

“You’re so sweet-talking today.” He fiddled with her earlobe, her pierced ear showing, feeling like something was missing, “Do you like them?”

“I like them, they’re very beautiful.”

She liked them so much that her eyebrows would curve whenever she thought of them.

Zhu Shihao glanced at the office desk, “Are you busy? Am I interrupting your work?”

“It’s okay, not too busy. It’s only been a little while.” A faint smile appeared on Tan Zhi Xu’s lips, “I wish you could stay here with me every day.”

That was of course impossible; Zhu Shihao also had to work.

Seeing him like this, Zhu Shihao wanted to be a little naughty again.

“Why did you send me roses today? Was it to commemorate our bodies being cultivated before our souls?”

The movement in his hands paused, then he pinched her ear a little harder, startling Zhu Shihao so much that she leaned back reflexively, raising her hand to cover her ear.

Tan Zhi Xu’s smile faded, and he looked at her with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, “If you insist on being so superficial and surface-level, there’s nothing I can do.”

Hearing this, she muttered, “It’s clearly not shallow or surface-level at all.”

Taking down her hand, he gently rubbed the pinched area, his movements full of comfort, but his expression and words were extremely impolite.

“You can say praising words about me loudly.”

    She choked, “Who praised you?”

After teasing each other for a few sentences, she couldn’t help but ask him curiously, “You made such a grand gesture, what will happen to our dating anniversary and future wedding anniversaries?”

Although she was asking, the implication in her words was clearly planning for the future, and with him, which made him feel very content.

“Aren’t there still 999? So many kinds of flowers, enough for me to send you.”

After looking him up and down, and realizing that he was serious, Zhu Shihao quickly changed her tune, “No, we don’t need that. Sending them once is enough, just a token gesture in the future is fine.”

Based on this person’s temperament, he could really do this several times a year. She knew he was rich, but Zhu Shihao still felt it was unnecessary. She would search for tutorials online tonight and should be able to pick some to make into dried flowers, which would be enough.

Afraid that he wouldn’t take it to heart, she added a sentence in a serious manner, “Money is more useful than flowers, hard currency.”

Hard currency, shouldn’t that be gold?

Subconsciously thinking this, but not refuting it verbally, Tan Zhi Xu just hummed in agreement.

    “Are you leaving later?”

Zhu Shihao grabbed his face with both hands and pulled it outward slightly, “Do you want me to leave or do you not want me to leave?”

Tan Zhi Xu hugged her waist, letting her do whatever she wanted, his expression not changing.

“What do you think? You’re really heartless.”

She laughed twice, leaned against him, and rested her chin on his shoulder, “Then I won’t leave. I’ll go sleep over there.”

Pulling back her hair that was scattered on her back, he patted her back, “Are you hot? Take off your coat first.”

It was fine if he didn’t mention it, but once he did, she really felt hot.

Taking off her coat and hanging it up, Zhu Shihao didn’t go to bother him again. She lay down directly on the recliner and turned her head to flick her fingers at him, “You do your work, don’t slack off.”

    It was because of whom?

Tan Zhi Xu felt a little helpless, “What do you want to eat for lunch?”

Zhu Shihao thought for a moment, “My exercise quota is temporarily up to par, let’s order delivery at noon.”

One of them worked while the other played on their phone. When Tan Zhi Xu’s eyes grew tired from looking at the computer, he took off his glasses to look at her.

The location of the recliner was excellent. He only needed to turn his head to see her profile.

Everyone said that Zhu Shihao had a gentle personality, but her expressions were actually very rich in private. Whether she was smiling, surprised, moved, or disdainful, it was all very easy to distinguish.

Therefore, his Shihao was an extremely interesting person. He could look at her expressions all day long and never get tired of it.

Staying in Tan Zhi Xu’s office wasn’t much different from staying at home, just playing on her phone and resting her eyes. Occasionally, she would provoke him. The two of them left work on the dot. When they came out of the office, almost everyone else was still there.

    Holding hands, normal.

The boss helping to carry the bag, also normal.

After seeing it countless times, a group of people shifted their gaze from their interlocked arms to the flowers held by Tan Zhi Xu, their thoughts stalling. A Dong opened her mouth and only managed to say “Brother Tan” before she couldn’t say anything else, and could only watch the two of them leave.

    “So, that bouquet of flowers?”

    “Boy, boyfriend?”

Someone lamented with heartache, “How else? Does the boss look like someone who would help other men carry flowers?”

No, he would only coldly say “Don’t get near me.”

Was this the so-called scam by acquaintances?

According to Zhu Shihao and Tan Zhi Xu’s plan, they were planning to find a time soon to treat Ran Cai, Wei Wang, and the others to a meal, and to inform these “blind” people.

However, plans couldn’t keep up with changes.

Coming out of the restaurant, Wei Wang had just seen off the client with his colleagues. He breathed a sigh of relief, loosened his tie, and felt that being a workhorse was really difficult.

He unconsciously scanned his surroundings, withdrew his gaze, then paused, and slowly raised his eyes to look again.

    His eyes widened.

Wei Wang was dumbfounded and couldn’t believe it, “What the heck!”

He was very familiar with both of the people over there. It wasn’t surprising to see them secretly having dinner together; after all, who would overestimate their abilities and compare their relationship with those two.

    But, they kissed?

His colleague saw him gaping, then muttering and rubbing his eyes, “I’m seeing things, I’m seeing things.”

    Not far away.

Zhu Shihao nudged him, a warning in her eyes, “Pay attention to the influence in public.”

Tan Zhi Xu scoffed, “What, I kissed her above the neck, and didn’t even stick out my tongue. Is that not okay? Who cares so much?”

After saying that, he pulled her chin up, kissing her on the lips again.

His tone was slightly provocative and arrogant, “I kissed her, so what?”

    So what?

“Tan Zhi Xu, let go of me!”

The sudden roar caught Zhu Shihao completely off guard. She widened her eyes and followed the sound, seeing Wei Wang striding over.

There was a moment of surprise in his eyes. After that flash, Tan Zhi Xu wasn’t flustered at all from being seen. Instead, he had a feeling of “finally.”

He glanced at Wei Wang, then at the man who was chasing after him, even more panicked than the people involved. He turned his gaze back to him.

Tan Zhi Xu said calmly, “Came to eat.”

Wei Wang was glaring at the two of them while saying “Good, good”. Hearing this, he glared at him instead, “How else? You didn’t even tell me you two would be making out in front of the restaurant.”

Amidst his anger, his voice was not soft. At least the surrounding people and his colleagues heard it, and strange and unusual gazes drifted towards them.

Tan Zhi Xu didn’t care at all, and wasn’t even guilty. Instead, he tightened his hand around Zhu Shihao’s waist, pulling them almost side to side.

“Don’t make it sound like we did something wrong to you.”

His face was filled with anger mixed with disbelief, resentment mixed with sadness. Anyone who saw it would misunderstand. The gazes of those around them were already rather indescribable.

As soon as he said this, Wei Wang’s face fell. After glancing at Zhu Shihao, who was drinking milk tea and not even raising her eyes, he decided to turn his firepower towards Tan Zhi Xu.

“Did you two treat me right?”

He slapped his thigh, his expression rather mournful, and the people around him became even more expectant.

“Everyone’s known each other for ten years. Brother Xu, you and Sister Hao, childhood friends turning into lovers, you didn’t even tell us! Do you two have a clear conscience?”

He paused, and after this moment of “distrust,” his suspicions grew stronger, and his gaze roamed over their faces.

“Or are you saying, you two wouldn’t already be married, right?!”

Tan Zhi Xu raised his eyebrows. At the same time, Zhu Shihao ungracefully choked on her milk tea.
