    Chapter 70: Settling Down

Yun Xia drowsily leaned against the edge of the young Demon Lord’s bed, occasionally thinking about Mo Jun Zhou’s demon nucleus, occasionally wondering how to escape capture, and occasionally pondering what their future held.

Various complex thoughts flashed through his mind, and gradually, he finally succumbed to sleep.

In a half-dreaming, half-waking state, he seemed to dream of the young man standing amidst a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood. The young Mo Jun Zhou stood in the distance, with half a setting sun behind him.

The setting sun was like blood, merging with the blood on the ground, making it almost impossible to distinguish between them.

And Mo Jun Zhou’s figure seemed about to melt into this bloody hue.

Yun Xia felt a surge of panic and immediately lifted his feet to run towards him, but no matter how fast he ran, even using his Demonic Energy, he couldn’t get closer. In a moment of terror, he shouted, “Don’t go!”

He woke up with a start.

Even after waking up, Yun Xia’s heart was still pounding, as if he were still in the dream.

It took a while for him to calm down.

He looked at the person on the bed, and with one glance, he was startled again and immediately rushed forward.

    “You, what’s wrong with you?”

He saw Mo Jun Zhou curled up into a ball, shivering constantly, his face as pale as paper, as if he were experiencing some extreme pain.

Yun Xia could feel the suppressed pain within him.

But even so, he was still restrained, simply hugging himself tightly.

Yun Xia felt extremely distressed watching him. He shook him a few times, but the person didn’t wake up, so he could only climb onto the bed himself and hug him tightly, while also probing with a wisp of Demonic Energy.

It was only when he probed that he discovered Mo Jun Zhou was suffering from a Demonic Energy backlash.

Because he had consumed the Demon Transformation Pill, the Demonic Energy in his body couldn’t gather, and because he had been seriously injured in the previous great battle, it led to the Demonic Energy turning against him. He was in pain because he was powerless to protect himself.

Yun Xia then used his own Demonic Energy to help him suppress the rampaging Demonic Energy within him, and this was clearly very effective. Before long, Mo Jun Zhou’s trembling subsided considerably.

Yun Xia breathed a sigh of relief and couldn’t help but look at him.

The young man’s figure had not yet fully developed, and was even thinner than Li Yu Sheng Jun.

“Great, I finally look more mature than you,” Yun Xia said with a smile.

Unfortunately, no one could reply to him, but he didn’t mind, and whispered, “You, do you think you’re so amazing that you don’t care about anything? You even went all in in such a big battle. Do you even know what ‘all in’ means? Hahaha, when you wake up, I’ll… I won’t tell you what it means.”

He amused himself by talking, his gaze traveling from Mo Jun Zhou’s eyebrows to his lips, and then back to his tightly closed eyes.

“You were so good-looking when you were little, it’s just a pity that very few people have seen your true face. You still like to wear a mask when you grow up. Don’t you know that beauty is a treasure for all mankind?”

Mo Jun Zhou lay quietly, his eyelashes not moving at all, sleeping, or rather, passed out, very deeply.

Judging from this, it was unknown how long it would take for him to wake up.

Yun Xia looked at the only window in the small room. Outside, it was pitch black, and the night sky was especially terrifying, as if submerged in the deep sea. Fortunately, the flying immortal artifact could block out the sound of the wind, and they were quite safe inside.

And so, Yun Xia fell asleep again.

The next day, he was shaken awake.

“Senior Brother Yun Xia, Senior Brother Yun Xia!”

Yun Xia suddenly opened his eyes, and because the bed was small, he almost fell off the bed when he turned over.

    “Senior Brother, be careful!”

The room was quite bright, it was already daytime.

“Ah, I’m awake, what is it?”

“It’s so crowded here, why are you sleeping here? I was wondering why I didn’t see you in your room.” The person who came was Gong Qiu.

“Oh, it’s nothing, I was worried something might happen to him at night.”

Yun Xia sat up from the bed and looked back at Mo Jun Zhou.

Mo Jun Zhou was still the same as he was last night, not even changing his sleeping posture.

    “You’re really good to him.”

Yun Xia smiled and didn’t say anything.

Gong Qiu suddenly leaned closer and whispered, “If we hadn’t brought him along back then, would you have gone back to find him after you woke up?”

Yun Xia said without thinking, “Yes.”

    Gong Qiu was stunned, “You…”

Yun Xia smiled, “What’s wrong? Is it strange?”

Gong Qiu: “Actually, it’s not strange, it’s just that you answered so straightforwardly. But Senior Brother Yun Xia, going back is very dangerous, maybe there are still people waiting there to catch you. Even so, would you still go back?”

Yun Xia nodded, “Yes, I can’t leave alone, he…”

Yun Xia thought for a while, and didn’t tell him about his and Mo Jun Zhou’s experience in the formation, but just said, “I’ve been through a lot with him, I can’t abandon him. No matter where he is, I will find him.”

Gong Qiu sighed, “You guys are really ill-fated lovers.”

Yun Xia was taken aback and patted his head, “Don’t act so profound, it doesn’t suit you, and we’re not ill-fated lovers.”

Gong Qiu smiled, “Although we have different positions from him, and immortals and demons are different, I think you are different. Don’t worry, when we return to the Immortal Realm, we will also stand on your side.”

Yun Xia’s heart sank slightly, but he still said, “Thank you.”

The two left the room, and Huai Ying and Zhu Wan’er were already out, looking out the window.

“Where have we arrived?” Yun Xia said.

Huai Ying: “Senior Brother, you’re up. We are very close to the border city. A little closer and we will have to return to the ground, otherwise, there is a risk of being discovered.”

Yun Xia also walked over. The sky outside was as gloomy as ever, and below were stone forests and black earth, which was clearly the environment of the Demon Realm.

    They still hadn’t left.

Having been in the Demon Realm for so long, Yun Xia had already gotten used to this environment.

“Which city are you planning to leave from?”

“Jincheng, it’s the closest to us. But I haven’t decided whether to enter the city or stay outside the city, after all, it is a major city for leaving the Demon Realm, and it is very likely that someone is lying in ambush to catch us,” Huai Ying replied.

“Then what do we do? We always have to go out,” Zhu Wan’er said.

“They can’t keep the border closed forever, we can just wait a little longer.”

“They must be very vigilant when it first opens. As long as we are patient, we can always wait for them to relax a little.”

    The others nodded in agreement.

Yun Xia said, “Let’s not enter the city for now. There are too many restrictions in the city. We will camp outside the city, and send people into the city from time to time to find out information.”

After flying for most of the day, Huai Ying controlled the flying immortal artifact to land in a deep red forest, which was a half-day’s journey from Jincheng, which was still relatively safe.

The flying immortal artifact could be invisible, but it consumed a lot of energy, so Huai Ying took out a space artifact, found a good location to release it. It was a small courtyard with several rooms and a conference hall, which was enough.

Yun Xia brought Mo Jun Zhou into the room on the left and said, “I’ll stay here with him. He doesn’t look like he’s going to wake up, so I’ll stay to take care of him.”

“Then Senior Brother, thank you for your hard work.”
