    Chapter 80: Chapter 80 – Unfathomable

The culprit was right there on the ground, indeed very similar to Burning Cloud Grass, the difference being its roots were very long, deeply embedded in the soil and not easily pulled up unless directly severed.

Its root system had very sharp, hidden barbs. These barbs looked soft, and indeed were soft; at first, you wouldn’t even feel them.

But when you tried to pull it up with force, those barbs would quickly dig back into the skin, hardening, extending sharp tips, and when one reflexively let go, they would slice out wounds.

It was a kind of camouflaged, very “wicked” plant. It wasn’t just painful; wounds caused by this plant couldn’t be quickly healed even with spells and medicine, only accelerated and promoted.

Mo Jun Zhou was truly startled this time. Such wounds clearly looked painful, and Yun Xia, who was so afraid of pain, was probably going to cry this time.

    However, Yun Xia didn’t cry.

You could tell he was in great pain. He knelt on the ground, head lowered, holding his hand and trembling. This trembling was obviously from extreme pain, an uncontrollable shake, and blood was still dripping down.

Before long, the grass was stained with mottled bloodstains.

Mo Jun Zhou frowned, staring intently at Yun Xia’s face. Yun Xia didn’t speak, silently casting a spell to heal himself, his lips a little pale, cold sweat popping out on his forehead, his breathing deep and heavy.

Mo Jun Zhou didn’t understand. He’d been so talkative just now, acting alone, but after being injured, he didn’t say a word. Why?

With his personality, shouldn’t he be crying or shouting?

But he was in so much pain that his face and eyes were red, yet he still didn’t cry.

Mo Jun Zhou just watched him silently, watching him stop the bleeding, take out things from his storage bag and clumsily bandage himself, then use his fingers wrapped in white cloth strips to gather the scattered herbs and pack them up.

It was time to go back, wasn’t it?

    Mo Jun Zhou thought.

Yun Xia stood up, looked at the things in his arms, then looked ahead.

Finally, he spoke his first words since being injured.

“Why am I so unlucky? Where is the justice? But speaking of which, does the Demon Realm even have justice?”

Mo Jun Zhou twitched his lips, thinking, of course not.

Then he thought, his voice was a little hoarse.

Yun Xia sighed, muttering, “Since I’m already here, well, I guess I’ll pick some more.”

Then, under Mo Jun Zhou’s idiotic gaze, he continued to gather herbs.

Mo Jun Zhou was so angry that he closed his eyes to calm his breathing.

Hadn’t he already gathered a lot of that damn herb? Why did he still need to pick more? Was he going to pluck every last feather like a goose? It wasn’t like he couldn’t come again next time!

Wasn’t his finger very painful? If it was so painful that he couldn’t even speak, why did he still continue? He was simply brainless!

Mo Jun Zhou really wanted to just leave, but after all, that idiot was gathering herbs for him, and what if some person or some demon beast with no sense of propriety ran over…

Mo Jun Zhou’s chest rose and fell rapidly. He felt like he had never been so angry before, and the key was that he couldn’t vent his anger on the person who made him angry.

Yun Xia gathered a lot more, his fingers aching faintly from being pulled.

He didn’t think much of it. First, since he was already injured, he wouldn’t be hurt a second time. Second, he wanted to at least gather enough for one use. And third, he didn’t want to go back so quickly.

After a long time, Mo Jun Zhou finally waited for him to finish gathering herbs and prepare to return. His gaze swept over Yun Xia’s fingers, which were covered in a lot of mud and needed to be changed when they got back.

But then he saw Yun Xia walking slower and slower. The closer he got to the space artifact, the more hesitant his steps became.

For the first time, Mo Jun Zhou waited so patiently.

Suddenly, he heard Yun Xia mutter softly, “You’re too heartless, aren’t you? I’ve been gone for so long, and you didn’t even think to come look for me. If you weren’t going to look, you could have waited at the entrance, right?”

    Mo Jun Zhou: “…”

“Well, you probably didn’t even know I came out.”

Mo Jun Zhou: Of course I knew. I knew as soon as you left. I haven’t lost all my senses.

“I haven’t slept well these past few days. How can that kid Gong Qiu snore so loudly? It’s my fault for being stupid. I only remembered last night that I could block my hearing. I must have been driven crazy by you.”

Mo Jun Zhou: This can be blamed on me too?

Yun Xia took a few steps forward, then stopped again, tilting his head and looking at the large bag of herbs in his arms.

“Thinking about it, am I a bit of a pushover? We’re having a conflict, and I’m still thinking about gathering herbs for you? If I posted this online, I’d definitely get 999+ mockery and a whole list of break-up advice.”

Mo Jun Zhou: What is he talking about? And where am I… what? Why would someone curse themselves like that?

“I’ll give you ten counts. If you don’t appear in front of me, these herbs have nothing to do with you!”

“Ten, nine, eight… five, four, you’re really not appearing? This is your last chance!”

At that moment, Mo Jun Zhou even suspected that he had been discovered.

“You’re really not coming? Three—two—Hmph, do you think I really want you to come?” Yun Xia looked around, gazing towards the direction of the space artifact not far away.

He had to admit that for a moment, Mo Jun Zhou thought, maybe I should just appear.

Maybe it was because Yun Xia’s expression… really hoped he would appear.

“Not coming? Fine, see these precious herbs?” Yun Xia threw the wrapped bag of herbs on the ground, then exaggeratedly jumped to the side, spreading his hands. “They were originally yours, but now, they’re gone! Hahaha, they have nothing to do with you. I’d rather feed them to the earth than give them to you.”

    Mo Jun Zhou: “…”

    Whoosh—whoosh—

    The wind passed by awkwardly.

Yun Xia didn’t feel awkward at all. Anyway, there were no spectators. He was acting with great enthusiasm. He nonchalantly picked up the herbs again, hugged them back into his arms, and walked forward, shaking his head and saying, “I picked these herbs myself. I get to decide what happens to them. I’ll give them to whoever I want.”

Mo Jun Zhou watched his back, and after a long time, the corners of his mouth turned up in a smile.

    Quite cute.

Back at the small courtyard, Huai Ying and the others came out of the council hall together.

“Yun Xia, junior brother, you’re finally back. Why were you gone for so long?”

“Oh? Were you waiting for me? Waiting for me to do what? I gathered some herbs on the way, so I stayed a little longer. Did I make you worry?” Yun Xia said as he put the herbs on the stone table.

“Quick, look what I found! Hahaha, I’m so lucky. I almost went too far. Fortunately, I still remembered the way.”

Gong Qiu looked behind him: “Senior brother, are you alone…”

His words stopped abruptly, and the eyes of the other two widened as well.

Because they saw Mo Jun Zhou, who should have returned with Yun Xia, open the door and walk out of the room.

“Ah? What ‘alone’?” Yun Xia was busy taking out the herbs and spreading them out, not paying much attention to his words.

But he did hear the sound of the door opening and unintentionally turned his head, meeting Mo Jun Zhou’s gaze.

Yun Xia paused, raised his eyebrows, not expecting him to come out. He hadn’t even thought of his lines yet.

Speaking of which, this was Mo Jun Zhou’s first time walking out of this room on his own, except for the time he pulled him out on the first day. He basically hadn’t left the room.

While he was trying to find the right words, Mo Jun Zhou slowly walked up to him and glanced down.

    “Burning Cloud Grass.”

He picked up a stalk and looked at it, then, under Yun Xia’s puzzled gaze, said, “You ran so far just for this?”

Yun Xia instinctively hid his fingers in his sleeves: “What’s it to you?”

Mo Jun Zhou lowered his gaze, sweeping over his sleeves: “Or else?”

Yun Xia choked. If he knew it was Burning Cloud Grass, then he knew its uses. Yun Xia felt like he was being seen through.

    But well…

“So? I just like doing unnecessary things. This stuff is useless to me, but that doesn’t mean it’s useless to my eyes. I think they look good, so I picked them to admire, can’t I?”

Zhu Wan’er chuckled, but after being glared at by Yun Xia, she immediately put on a straight face, grabbed Gong Qiu and Huai Ying, and walked to the side: “Yes, yes, it’s getting a little dark. I’ll go light the lamps so junior brother Yun Xia can see clearly. Let’s go, let’s go, you guys come help me too.”

The three light bulbs left, and Yun Xia turned back to continue sorting things out.

“This Burning Cloud Grass looks like burning clouds. One stalk is too little. Putting many stalks together like this makes it look more like real red clouds. It really does look better.”

Had he taken the wrong medicine, or had he gone crazy from cultivating? Mo Jun Zhou actually echoed his words?

Could it be… was he offering a step to reconcile?

Yun Xia’s heart leaped with joy. Holy crap, he could actually wait for this moment. He thought he would have to argue with him.

Yun Xia’s original intention was to use it for him, and he wasn’t an ungrateful person. He would take the step down when he saw it.

“Right? I think so too! You have good taste. Then these are for you.”

    Mo Jun Zhou: “…………”

He was just giving them to him?? He hadn’t even finished speaking.

    “Don’t you think you’re too easily…”

    “What?”

    Mo Jun Zhou didn’t speak.

He just felt that Yun Xia had suffered so much outside, but didn’t take it seriously at all, didn’t tell him, and didn’t even want him to know. Was he just going to brush it aside so easily?

Didn’t he feel wronged at all?

Remembering the look on Yun Xia’s face when his hand was injured, Mo Jun Zhou’s heart twitched again.

He took a deep breath: “What happened to your hand?”

    “Hand?”

Yun Xia instinctively hid his hand behind him, completely not expecting him to notice his hand, or rather, not expecting him to care about him.

But… why hide it? His goal wasn’t to be angry with him. He should quickly improve their relationship to solve the real, pressing problems!

Yun Xia suddenly understood and immediately took out both hands. White cloth strips wrapped around most of his fingers, covered with a lot of mud.

“I got hurt, look, it hurts so much.”

Mo Jun Zhou was confused by his sudden change of face again. He had seen him hide it several times, and he had instinctively hidden it when he first asked, so why was he suddenly willing to say it directly?

Unfathomable, he completely couldn’t understand this person.

Mo Jun Zhou didn’t know how to respond, looking at the hand being offered in front of him, he suddenly noticed a touch of bright red at the seam of his fingers.

“It’s bleeding again.” Mo Jun Zhou grabbed his wrist.

    Yun Xia was stunned: “Again?”

    “Is that all you noticed?”

    “Uh.” Yun Xia was speechless.

“Never mind that, let’s bandage it first.”

“Let me put these away first, in case it rains later and there’s no time to put them away.”

“…What rain? Do you see any signs of it raining here?”

The two went back to the room arguing.

Zhu Wan’er clapped her hands happily: “Great, they finally made up! I knew letting him go out to find someone was a useful idea.”

Gong Qiu: “But we all saw that he came out of the room, and senior brother Yun Xia seemed to have come back alone.”

Zhu Wan’er: “Doesn’t that explain the problem even more? Esteemed Lord must have been secretly following junior brother Yun Xia, not letting him find out. After coming back, he pretended that he had never left and came out of his room. How did I not realize they were so cute!”

Gong Qiu thoughtfully stroked his chin: “In other words, senior brother Yun Xia will go back to his own room to sleep tonight?”

Zhu Wan’er: “You’re finally catching on.”

“It’s a pity, I can’t listen to senior brother tell stories anymore.”

Zhu Wan’er: “…Are you three years old?”

Gong Qiu: “Hahahaha, I’m just kidding.”
