Chapter 20 The Omega in the Noble School 20 Shen Zhifan Cried…

Xie Jin’s mouth stretched into a thin line, his face cracking like thin paper as numerous thoughts flashed through his mind.

He finally moved, clenching his fists and rushing out, shoving Gu Hanshi, who had just stepped one foot inside, and punching him hard in the stomach.

Gu Hanshi was startled for a moment but quickly grew furious, and the two instantly began wrestling.

Inside the room, Lu Qingyun was startled awake. Lu Qingyun rubbed his eyes, momentarily stunned by the unfamiliar surroundings, and frowned.

He was greatly alarmed when he realized his tail and ears had taken on a fox form, and he quickly retracted them. His heart pounded rapidly, filled with the anxiety of potential exposure.

His sensitive ears caught the commotion outside, which sounded like people fighting. Lu Qingyun sat up, put on his shoes, and walked toward the door.

He cautiously peeked his head out, recognizing the two people fighting. They were locked in a struggle, evenly matched, while the surrounding butlers and maids dared not approach.

Lu Qingyun’s gaze shifted toward the stairs, considering the feasibility of escaping right now. After a moment of thought, he confirmed the probability was nearly zero.

Just then, Gu Hanshi took half a step back, and the two finally created some distance. The man’s face was grim as he stared at Xie Jin, who had attacked without warning. “What the hell is wrong with you?”

Xie Jin scoffed, clenching his fists, the anger on his face still evident. His eyes held contempt as he re-examined Gu Hanshi.

He suddenly calmed down, his lips turning down slightly as he commented flatly, “I never thought you were such a pervert in private.”

The events just now had happened in a flash. Gu Hanshi hadn’t stepped into the room, so he was naturally confused, his brows tightly furrowed.

Xie Jin’s face was cold. He recalled the scene he had just witnessed. He didn’t dare imagine what had happened in between—whether Lu Qingyun was completely unable to resist, forced to accept those… items. His expression darkened further, especially seeing the man before him still looking bewildered.

He raised his voice, “Why won’t you admit it? Don’t you know what you did?”

Gu Hanshi’s patience ran out. He reached up and pinched the bridge of his nose. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I just brought him back to sleep for one night.”

Xie Jin’s eyebrows twitched rapidly. Hearing that made him even angrier. He clenched his fists, ready to charge again.

Lu Qingyun, who had been standing by the door listening to their entire conversation, lightly coughed and stepped out from behind the door.

Xie Jin immediately stopped his punch and looked over. He rushed to Lu Qingyun, circling him once, wanting to speak but holding back.

    “You… you, that thing…”

Lu Qingyun lowered his head, looking embarrassed. He lightly tugged on Xie Jin’s sleeve and spoke in a very low voice, “Let’s go outside first.”

Xie Jin inhaled sharply, his heart feeling scratched by something. He immediately scooped the person up in his arms.

“Alright, I’ll take you away.” His gaze swept over Gu Hanshi, filled only with disgust. He carried the boy steadily down the stairs.

The Gu family’s butlers stood by, wanting to speak but only daring to look at their master’s expression. They only stepped aside when they saw Gu Hanshi shake his head.

After the two walked out the main door, Gu Hanshi reached up to straighten his tie and spoke with a grim face, “Check the surveillance footage of that room.”

On the other side, Xie Jin carried Lu Qingyun out the door. Lu Qingyun glanced behind Xie Jin. Seeing that Gu Hanshi hadn’t chased them, he felt slightly relieved. If it was just Xie Jin, he could probably explain things away without revealing his secret.

Xie Jin had arrived early that morning on his motorcycle. He adjusted his posture, placing Lu Qingyun on the motorcycle seat. He braced his arms on the bike and looked down at Lu Qingyun, his eyes filled with complexity.

He struggled for a long time before tentatively asking, “…Does it hurt?”

Lu Qingyun froze. His eyelids drooped, concealing the emotions in his eyes. He had planned to casually mislead Xie Jin and let the matter drop, but he never expected he wouldn’t even need to mislead him at all.

Seeing his reaction, Xie Jin cursed Gu Hanshi inwardly. At the same time, a sharp pang surged in his heart. His hands, which had been resting at his sides, now clenched into fists. The regret that arose in his heart spread throughout his body like a physical presence. He sighed softly and pulled Lu Qingyun into a tight embrace.

Lu Qingyun was held tightly, feeling Xie Jin’s trembling. Behind his ear, Lu Qingyun heard the man’s hoarse voice.

    “It’s all my fault.”

Lu Qingyun, held in his embrace, could feel the man’s arms tightening further. The omega rested his head lightly on the man’s shoulder, his eyes shifting as he looked vaguely into the distance. He was waiting for Xie Jin to regain control of his emotions.

Xie Jin was also waiting for him to regain control. He interpreted the boy’s silence as grief and held him even tighter.

Lu Qingyun felt his hands were starting to stiffen. He carefully pulled his hand out and whispered, “Can you take me back to the Dormitory?”

Hearing the omega’s voice, Xie Jin breathed a sigh of relief and immediately agreed. He took out a helmet, helped Lu Qingyun put it on, bent down to fasten the strap, and then casually buckled his own helmet before swinging his leg over the motorcycle.

“Hold onto me,” he reminded him.

Xie Jin felt the hands wrap around his waist from behind and a slight smile lifted the corner of his mouth.

    “Let’s go.”

He started the motorcycle, leaning slightly as he drove onto the main road. The motorcycle traveled a long distance. Xie Jin could feel the cold wind blowing against him—the thrill brought by the motorcycle—and at the same time, he felt the warmth coming from behind. Lu Qingyun was leaning against his back. Xie Jin felt a sense of contentment. He wished this road were longer, never reaching its end.

But a journey with a destination always has an end. The familiar school soon appeared before them. Xie Jin slowed down slightly, drove through the school gate, and pulled up beneath the Dormitory building.

    “We’re here.”

Xie Jin put his foot down, feeling the boy behind him slowly slide off, and a faint itch rose in his heart.

He dismounted, parked the motorcycle, and casually took off his helmet. Lu Qingyun had also taken off his helmet by then and handed it to him.

Xie Jin held both helmets in one hand, his gaze fixed on Lu Qingyun’s face, hesitating whether to speak.

Lu Qingyun kept his eyes lowered and said nothing. Just as he was about to turn away, he seemed to remember something, whispered a thank you, and then turned back, ready to leave.

Xie Jin couldn’t resist following him a few steps. He wasn’t sure if Lu Qingyun would allow him the chance to stay with him at a time like this.

Evidently, the boy did not give him the chance. Lu Qingyun stopped, and his voice came from ahead.

    “Don’t follow me.”

Xie Jin stiffened, stopping in his tracks, watching Lu Qingyun walk away from behind.

He watched the boy enter the teaching building, then leaned lazily against the motorcycle, tossing one of the helmets up and down in his hand.

When Lu Qingyun entered the elevator, he glanced behind him. Not seeing Xie Jin, he sighed in relief and slipped into the elevator, pressing the button for the fifth floor.

He leaned against the side until the elevator chimed, then stood up and stepped out.

The Dormitory was indeed empty, just as he preferred.

Lu Qingyun climbed onto his bed and retrieved a box. He opened it and saw that the phone inside was perfectly intact and brand new, clearly unused.

He felt relieved, closed the box, and climbed down, holding it. As Lu Qingyun was about to leave, he turned back on a whim, walked to the window, and looked out. Sure enough, Xie Jin was still standing at the entrance of the Dormitory building.

The man was half-leaning against the motorcycle, seemingly lost in thought. Xie Jin suddenly looked up, staring directly over. Lu Qingyun was startled and quickly crouched down.

Only after crouching did he realize that Xie Jin probably couldn’t see him from such a distance.

Lu Qingyun took out his phone and checked the time. It was already nine o’clock. The omega squatted on the ground, resting his head on his hand, a look of conflict on his face.

After a moment, the boy resolutely stood up, pulled out an inconspicuous black shirt from the closet, took off the clothes he was wearing and tossed them into the basin, and changed into the black shirt. He paused where he stood.

Lu Qingyun hadn’t seen a hat among the original owner’s belongings. He had no choice but to take out his phone and open the messaging app. He was greeted by a screen full of messages, piled up to 99+. Lu Qingyun scrolled past them without changing his expression, found Wen Zhiyu, and clicked on his chat.

Before this holiday break, a roommate had suggested they all exchange contact information, so Lu Qingyun had added them one by one.

He opened Wen Zhiyu’s message box. The other side had also sent quite a few messages. Lu Qingyun scrolled past them without replying, typing directly into the chat box.

[Lu: Can I borrow your hat?]

    The reply was instantaneous.

    [w: Yes!]

[w: It’s in my closet, the one in the top right corner. Take it yourself. happy.jpg]

[w: You finally replied to me…]

Lu Qingyun saw the message he wanted, turned off his phone screen, and took a black hat from the top right corner of the closet.

He put on the hat, pulled it down to cover his face, and then took the elevator out.

Lu Qingyun held the box in one hand and kept the hat pressed down with the other as he walked out. Sure enough, he saw Xie Jin standing outside the door in the hallway.

Lu Qingyun lowered the brim of his hat and quickened his pace, heading outside. He didn’t bother looking up to see what Xie Jin was doing, focusing only on walking.

He finally relaxed when he reached the small side path. He passed through this small path, successfully exited the school gate, and set off toward Shen Zhifan’s house.

During the holiday, there weren’t many people around the school, and the road was quiet. Lu Qingyun sped up his pace while thinking about how to handle the protagonist.

After their conversation last time, Shen Zhifan hadn’t sent any more messages. Lu Qingyun had also been busy all day yesterday, so he naturally hadn’t had time to worry about him.

After passing through a small alley, he arrived at Shen Zhifan’s house. There were still many vehicles in the yard. Lu Qingyun spotted Shen Zhifan immediately. The man was working on small parts, his shoulder exposed.

Shen Zhifan heard footsteps and looked up. His eyes were clearly bloodshot, and there were dark circles beneath them, as if he hadn’t rested well for days. He looked up, his eyes deep, his Adam’s apple bobbing. He didn’t speak, lowering his head to continue his work as if he hadn’t seen anyone.

Lu Qingyun didn’t pay much attention, assuming he was too busy. He walked over quietly, placed the box containing the new phone on the ground, and gently pushed it into Shen Zhifan’s line of sight.

Lu Qingyun half-crouched down as well, softening his voice and speaking seductively, “A birthday gift for you, Brother Shen. Happy Birthday.”

If Lu Chi were to appear at this moment, he would instantly recognize that the box on the ground and the phone inside were exactly the ones he had previously given to Lu Qingyun.

Lu Qingyun moved a little closer, his eyes devoid of emotion, and continued in a soft voice, “I was too busy yesterday and missed it. Are you angry?”

Shen Zhifan’s hands instantly tightened, even trembling. Lu Qingyun was about to ask what was wrong when he looked up and saw a large tear fall from Shen Zhifan’s eye, hitting the ground.

    He was crying.
