Chapter 28 The Omega of the Aristocratic School (End) “Goodbye…”

Lu Chi rushed over at lightning speed, grabbing Lu Qingyun’s other arm and trying to pull him into his embrace.

Lu Qingyun was forced to be sandwiched between them. He had just struggled when both men gripped his arms tightly.

Lu Chi lowered his head slightly, his gaze falling on Lu Qingyun’s waist, where Xie Jin’s hand was still tightly wrapped. His eyes moved up, and he spoke coldly: “You two certainly stick close.”

Lu Chi cursed inwardly. At this moment, he felt like a jealous husband whose home had been invaded. He had just found Lu Qingyun and rushed over as fast as possible, only to encounter these three troublesome people on the way.

Two of them had tangled with him on the road. The three cars refused to yield, fighting for position the whole way. Unexpectedly, none of the three benefited in the end; instead, Xie Jin had gotten ahead.

These men claimed they wanted him to choose one person, but in reality, none of them intended to let Lu Qingyun go.

Lu Qingyun frowned, pulled both arms free, and took a step to the side.

    “I won’t choose anyone.”

Before anyone else could speak, a flurry of footsteps echoed from the alleyway. Lu Qingyun looked over in the direction of the sound.

Several people were gathered in the alley, and it was clear who the central figure was. That central figure was currently turning his head toward the alley exit, where a dark figure was emerging.

The light from the streetlamp reflected off him, gradually illuminating the newcomer’s face as he moved. The man’s lower lip was tightly pressed, his face slightly grim, and his eyes were tinged with red as he stared intently at Lu Qingyun. It was as if everyone else standing there had faded into the background. He simply locked eyes with Lu Qingyun.

Shen Zhifan paused slightly after emerging, scanning Lu Qingyun from head to toe, as if confirming something. He subtly let out a breath and slowly approached.

Everyone is here, Lu Qingyun thought. He lowered his head, feigning guilt, and glanced at his phone, having received no messages.

Lu Qingyun frowned slightly. He remained silent, and the few men inexplicably entered a stalemate.

No one was willing to give up, yet no one dared to forcefully pressure Lu Qingyun. Moreover, if anyone were to be the first to pressure him now, they would likely be ganged up on and eliminated first.

The air felt somewhat heavy and stagnant until Lu Qingyun shivered and drew his arms in from the cold. Only then did the men reach a consensus.

In the end, Lu Qingyun was taken to Gu Hanshi’s house because it was the nearest.

Lu Qingyun was settled into a bedroom, while the other men shamelessly refused to leave. Shen Zhifan went to make hot soup, Ji Chengyu was adjusting the hot water in the bathroom, and Xie Jin was unilaterally communicating with Lu Qingyun. Everyone looked busy.

“Can you be quiet for a while?” Lu Qingyun finally lost his patience and looked at Xie Jin, whose mouth hadn’t stopped moving.

Xie Jin shook his head: “No. Why did you disappear for so long?”

Lu Chi, having finished whatever he was busy with, rushed into the room and plopped down next to Lu Qingyun, squeezing a spot between Lu Qingyun and Xie Jin.

Lu Chi leaned his entire body against Lu Qingyun and provocatively asked: “Are you annoyed by him?”

The “him” Lu Chi referred to was naturally Xie Jin. Xie Jin sneered, about to speak.

His words were cut short by a look from Lu Qingyun. Lu Qingyun stood up, grabbed one man by each arm, and led them toward the door.

“I’m annoyed by both of you. Get out.”

He tossed both of them out, and the room finally returned to quiet. His ears finally felt clear.

The quiet didn’t last long. The two men outside started arguing about something, and soon the sounds of fighting could be heard.

Lu Qingyun ignored them. He looked up and scanned the walls. Sure enough, he spotted a camera in the corner of the room.

It seemed Gu Hanshi already knew his identity, but Gu Hanshi probably hadn’t told anyone else.

Lu Qingyun lay on the bed and sighed softly: “Humans are so complicated.”

His phone vibrated beside him. Lu Qingyun picked it up, and his eyes curved into a smile.

He stood up, found a few pieces of paper in the room, and slipped into the bathroom.

The next day, the sun was nearly at its zenith, shining through the window onto the large bed. The Omega was sprawled on the bed, his pant legs slightly rolled up from sleep, exposing his pale, tender legs, which were tinged with pink. Lu Qingyun’s head was buried in the pillow, his cheek flesh pressed into a hollow. His fair face was flushed a light red, and his bangs were damp and clumped together. The boy’s forehead was furrowed in his sleep.

    “Hasn’t he woken up yet?”

“Are you sure he’s still there? Let’s open the door and check.”

    “You guys are too loud.”

    “Hah, and you’re not?”

Sounds of argument came from outside. After a moment, the door was pushed open. When the men saw Lu Qingyun’s state, they all frowned.

Shen Zhifan rushed over first. He gently scooped up Lu Qingyun, letting the boy lean most of his body against him. The scorching heat radiating from the person in his arms transferred to Shen Zhifan. Shen Zhifan’s breathing quickened, and he reached out to touch Lu Qingyun’s forehead.

“He has a fever.” The burning heat on his forehead seemed to scald his heart. The hearts of the men instantly tightened.

“To the hospital.” Gu Hanshi immediately ordered someone to prepare the car. The other men were surprisingly harmonious at this point, not arguing much, and together they took Lu Qingyun to the hospital.

“This is an extremely rare complication of damaged scent glands. The common symptom of this condition is fever. If left untreated or without appropriate intervention, the patient is likely to remain in a state of prolonged high fever.”

The men’s expressions were grave, and they frowned almost simultaneously.

The attending doctor adjusted his glasses, glanced toward the ward, and slowly spoke: “Are you all the patient’s family?”

Seeing the men nod, the doctor quickly said: “Then please come with me. I need to explain the situation to you.”

    “Alright.”

The hospital was filled with the pungent smell of disinfectant. The Omega on the hospital bed was completely buried under the blanket, even his head tucked in.

A figure quickly flashed past the door. A person completely wrapped in a mask and scarf, only their eyes visible, hurried past and headed downstairs.

A car was parked outside the hospital entrance. Seeing the man emerge, the car honked twice. The man tightened his scarf and quickly walked over.

He opened the car door and sat inside. The young man inside let out a slight sigh of relief.

    “I’ve already booked your ticket.”

    “Thank you, Wen Zhiyu.”

The man took off the scarf covering his face, casually brushed back his sweat-dampened hair, and then removed his mask, revealing his entire face.

His fair face was flushed pink, and his lips parted slightly. He leaned back against the seat.

Wen Zhiyu’s gaze swept across his face, and he was momentarily stunned.

The man who had secretly slipped out of the hospital was Lu Qingyun.

Lu Qingyun had contacted Wen Zhiyu after escaping the hospital that day. Later, when he was surrounded by those men, he had relied on Wen Zhiyu to help him.

Wen Zhiyu was quick to act, and everything had been handled perfectly. Last night, Wen Zhiyu had already given Lu Qingyun confirmation.

Everything today had also gone smoothly.

Watching the car speed along, Lu Qingyun rested for a while before starting to give instructions. He pulled several pieces of paper from his pocket.

The papers were folded into small squares, bearing short black handwriting, seemingly names.

Lu Qingyun showed the papers to Wen Zhiyu one by one before handing them over with confidence.

“These are for Shen Zhifan, Xie Jin, Lu Chi, Gu Hanshi, and Ji Chengyu, respectively.” Lu Qingyun rattled off the names quickly, like a khan reviewing his troops, then took a deep breath. He felt he might never have formally called out anyone’s name like that before.

He finished speaking, looked up at Wen Zhiyu, and asked softly: “Can you remember?”

Wen Zhiyu had been watching him the entire time, his gaze occasionally lingering on his lips. Seeing Lu Qingyun look at him with such gentle and focused attention, his heart rate suddenly accelerated.

When he saw the letters, Wen Zhiyu’s eyes drooped. He held them in his hand and remained silent for a moment before suddenly speaking.

    “What about me?”

Wen Zhiyu stared at Lu Qingyun without blinking, waiting for his reaction.

He could listen to anything Lu Qingyun said and do anything for him. He wouldn’t ask for reasons. He would quickly arrange everything, even if the matter would cause him trouble with many people, yet he still did it; even if the matter required him to personally send Lu Qingyun away, he still did it.

But seeing all of Lu Qingyun’s arrangements, he couldn’t help but ask.

    What about me?

Besides this utility value, am I still within your consideration?

    Lu Qingyun blinked, momentarily stunned.

The two stared at each other, both carrying their own thoughts. Finally, Wen Zhiyu gave a bitter smile. He thought he knew the answer.

    “Never mind.”

Wen Zhiyu lowered his head, handed the train ticket to Lu Qingyun, and then, as if to change the subject, began to explain the other arrangements.

The car drove continuously, quickly passing the surrounding scenery, and soon reached the station. The two got out of the car, and Wen Zhiyu accompanied Lu Qingyun into the station.

After they entered, Wen Zhiyu lightly tugged on Lu Qingyun’s sleeve. Lu Qingyun thought he had something else to say and looked at him with a hint of confusion.

What met his eyes was a bank card. Wen Zhiyu took the card from his pocket and placed it in Lu Qingyun’s hand.

He suppressed his reluctance and spoke softly: “Take this. The password is 521688.”

This was the phone password he had overheard Bai Zhengchu saying back then. Wen Zhiyu had been shocked by how openly he said it and had wished he had that kind of courage. Now, he could say it just as openly.

Lu Qingyun squeezed the card for a moment, then looked up at Wen Zhiyu, complex emotions swirling in his eyes.

Wen Zhiyu chuckled softly and turned his face away. He checked the time, smoothed Lu Qingyun’s hair, and said: “It’s almost time. Go quickly.”

Lu Qingyun moved half a step away, then moved back. He suddenly looked up and said quickly and unnaturally: “You can ask for one thing now. As long as it’s not too excessive, I will agree.”

This statement caused Wen Zhiyu to freeze. Receiving such a promise from Lu Qingyun, his eyes reddened, and he stammered for a moment before speaking.

“I… hope you take good care of yourself, and that we can meet again.”

His second sentence carried a hint of question, and he tentatively looked at Lu Qingyun.

Lu Qingyun had been prepared for him to make all sorts of demands, but he hadn’t expected this. He sighed slowly: “I said you only get one chance.”

Besides, he wouldn’t be returning to this world, nor would they meet again.

He added silently in his heart.

“Yes, I know. I’m not wasting it.” Wen Zhiyu felt his face dampen slightly. He quickly turned Lu Qingyun around and pushed him forward. “Alright, the train is about to leave.”

Lu Qingyun was startled by his actions, being pushed forward.

“Okay, okay, I know.” He was about to turn his head when Wen Zhiyu interrupted him.

    “Don’t look back.”

Lu Qingyun’s face stiffened for a moment. He heard the catch in Wen Zhiyu’s voice. His hand tightened, and he obeyed Wen Zhiyu, walking forward.

Lu Qingyun walked step by step toward the crowd. Ahead, people were checking tickets and entering the station. Lu Qingyun slowed his pace slightly.

As the distance between them gradually widened, Wen Zhiyu wiped his tears, but couldn’t help shouting: “Lu Qingyun.”

Lu Qingyun stopped and turned back to look at him. Wen Zhiyu was practically sobbing, tears streaming down his face. Lu Qingyun’s tense expression softened, and a strange emotion welled up in his heart.

Wen Zhiyu wiped his tears and raised his arm to wave goodbye: “Goodbye.”

Lu Qingyun watched him, the corners of his mouth lifting into a genuine smile. He spoke slowly: “Goodbye.”

Not long after Lu Qingyun successfully boarded the train, the system’s broadcast sounded in his ear.

Lu Qingyun let the system broadcast for a long time. As he was being transported, he closed his eyes. After a wave of dizziness, he opened his eyes again, and everything was dark.

A cold sensation touched his cheek. Someone seemed to be pinching his chin. Lu Qingyun frowned in displeasure. The hand pinching his chin didn’t loosen; instead, it gripped and lifted upward.

Lu Qingyun’s face was forced up. A light scoff suddenly sounded in his ear: “Blind, yet you dare to dress like this and come to a Bar. Are you looking to get fucked?”
