    Chapter Index

Since I arrived just as the store was opening, I assumed he would be waiting at home if I said I would meet him after work.

“I was waiting for you, senior.”

    “Surely not until this hour?”

    “Huh.”

As Lee Jun’s mouth dropped open in silent surprise, Chaeheon approached him, seemingly amused. The woman who had been waiting to get his number was forgotten, and their gazes tangled.

“My senior told me to wait……”

Chaeheon naturally put his arm on Lee Jun’s shoulder.

“How can I just lie down at home?”

At his excited voice, Lee Jun couldn’t even bring himself to tell him to remove his hand, and just stared at him. He’d been waiting for over seven hours, and he couldn’t say anything, feeling frustrated. Even when he’d met Chaeheon earlier, the atmosphere hadn’t been this relaxed. What on earth was he thinking?

“Aren’t you hungry? Let’s go eat dinner right away.”

Chaeheon casually shared a moment with Lee Jun, then lowered his head toward the woman as if he’d noticed her presence. Lee Jun was tall, but Chaeheon was even taller, and the woman shrugged at the intimidating aura.

    “Who is this?”

His gaze was fixed on the woman, but he was actually asking Lee Jun. It was a brazen question, considering he’d seen what she’d just said. As Chaeheon’s gaze deepened, she backed away, feeling a sense of burden. Lee Jun intervened.

    “I’m sorry. And thank you.”

    “Oh, yes.”

The woman, not fully understanding what she meant, hurriedly left the room, as if she had taken the opportunity to escape. Lee Jun, who had been watching her from behind, sighed faintly and turned around. Chaeheon’s expression startled him, and he unconsciously pushed Sangje back.

“Why are you looking at me like that?”

I didn’t know what was on his mind, but he seemed quite affectionate earlier, but now Chaeheon’s eyes were filled with a deep sense of displeasure.

“Why are you saying thank you?”

Lee Jun furrowed his eyebrows after hearing the reason why Chaeheon was hurt.

“Are you dissatisfied that I am grateful?”

“Were you so shocked that you didn’t know what to do when my senior said he liked you? That’s why you said thank you? Then you should at least bow to me.”

Chaeheon leaned his upper body toward him, bringing their faces close together.

“I express that I like every moment of every hour.”

As Chaeheon’s sincerity flowed out through his murmur, Lee Jun let out a sigh of relief.

    “Hey.”

I had just stepped back in embarrassment, but a rebellion welled up in me later, not knowing why I had to do that.

    “It’s your first time.”

Chaeheon’s eyes were demanding a detailed explanation of what Lee Jun had just said.

“Saying that you like someone… I mean, confessing to someone is difficult.”

“I often do that difficult thing.”

Lee Jun pretended not to hear Chaeheon and continued what he was about to say.

“Confessions are harder when you don’t know each other well.”

Chaeheon nodded with a look that seemed to both know and not know.

“You didn’t reveal much about yourself. That means there’s a good chance I’ll reject you, so I’m grateful you confessed.”

“Are you saying that confessing to someone when you first meet them is more difficult?”

“It’s the same when you don’t know each other as much as when you first meet.”

It started with a question about why I was grateful, but surprisingly, the conversation deepened. To increase the likelihood of the other person accepting my confession, I had to show off my charm. The more time I had to show off my charm, the better. But in a first meeting, that could inevitably have a negative effect.

And yet, confessing. Chaeheon nodded, understanding that it took courage to do so.

A confession made when you don’t know each other well… … It stuck in my throat like a thorn.
