Chapter 42 Part 2
by BLReads“I want to take you, Senior. Don’t you think this is worth your time?”
Chaeheon added, fearing a refusal.
“I have a lot of money.”
Lee Jun chose silence. He thought it better not to say anything more. But that was speaking without knowing Chaeheon.
“If money won’t appease you, what’s next?”
His body?
Chaeheon’s eyes held the desire for him to refuse quickly. Seeing him smack his lips again, as if he was about to pounce, Lee Jun looked at him with a weary expression.
Should I just give up on everything, including breaking up?
Thanks to Chaeheon’s offer to drive him, Lee Jun was now in his car. He wondered if it wouldn’t have been better to just part ways in front of his house earlier.
‘Or maybe not.’
It was a moment where he had reached out to Chaeheon, so it wasn’t entirely meaningless. He had secretly considered the possibility of staying over, but the thought of going home unexpectedly relaxed his tense body. He also felt a little awkward, as if he had been unnecessarily conscious and worried by himself.
It was late at night, so he had expected no traffic, but surprisingly, cars were bumper to bumper. Gazing at the taillights of the car in front, Lee Jun quietly asked,
“Aren’t you going to ask anything about Hae Sol?”
Since he had seen that Lee Jun had a baby, shouldn’t there be some reaction, whether suspicion or disappointment?
“That’s not what’s urgent right now.”
Chaeheon answered casually, looking in the rearview mirror.
“Whether that child is mine or not, our relationship, Senior, comes first.”
A considerable amount of time had passed since he met Hae Sol, so he seemed to have finished his own thoughts on the matter.
“If things go well with you again, Senior, we can think about the child afterward.”
“You’re not going to ask whose child it is?”
Stopping at a red light, Chaeheon turned his head towards Lee Jun.
“If I reveal something like that now, won’t you just distance yourself further, Senior? You’ve already been keeping your distance from me as it is…”
Chaeheon let out a hollow laugh. Was this a conclusion he had reached after considering all the actions Lee Jun had shown him until now?
“So, for now, I’m not going to involve anything else and just focus on one thing. Once I get what I want, the rest can follow.”
“Why aren’t you hiding something like that?”
“To show you that you can’t escape, no matter how hard you try.”
Lee Jun stared at him with a frown, but Chaeheon, instead, laughed as if amused.
“Whether it’s the child or anything else, I’ll prioritize getting you, Senior. Then, whatever happens, you’ll know you can’t escape from me.”
Tension filled Lee Jun, and he swallowed dryly. He had made Hae Sol seem like his son and pretended. He had done so hoping Chaeheon would misunderstand, but he had missed the most crucial thing: a means to satisfy Chaeheon’s possessiveness.
“Let’s do the things we couldn’t do when we were dating.”
As they arrived in front of Lee Jun’s house, Chaeheon turned off the engine, tapped the steering wheel for a moment in thought, and then brought up one thing.
“You were going to meet my friend, weren’t you? I think we’ll be seeing him soon anyway, so how about we start there?”
Meeting Chaeheon’s gaze, Lee Jun had to clench his fists and forcibly suppress the turmoil that threatened to show in his heart. Knowing that “that friend” referred to Han Jeong-min, he couldn’t miss this opportunity.
“…Alright.”
Let’s meet.
