“I won’t be like him. What’s with that, ‘I’ll just bring the baby’? Tsk.”

Just bringing the baby… It felt too much like what had happened to Haein and Hae Sol, making it hard for Lee Jun to remain calm.

Then, when Han Jeong-min began with, “Chaeheon, you’re really funny,” Lee Jun looked up. Han Jeong-min smirked at Chaeheon.

“Is this really the time for you to talk about others? Even if you’re dating Lee Jun now… No, never mind.”

It was clear he changed his words mid-sentence because Lee Jun was listening. Lee Jun, whose heart was still racing from the mention of ‘the baby,’ turned to Chaeheon.

Lee Jun wondered what he had been about to say, but Chaeheon only shrugged.

“It’s fine if you say it.”

Chaeheon casually waved his hand, as if telling Han Jeong-min to continue.

“Ah, Lee Jun must be very understanding. He (Chaeheon) had someone he really liked before. He even said he’d introduce them to me. I was surprised when they broke up without a word, but I guess it was all meant for him to meet Lee Jun.”

As Han Jeong-min spoke like he was tattling, Lee Jun openly sighed.

He really is such an insignificant person.

He was too superficial. His words were light, and his thoughts were light. Lee Jun could never see Han Jeong-min in a good light, so he disliked everything about him.

Now, there was nothing Lee Jun wanted to ask Han Jeong-min.

Looking at him, Lee Jun’s resolve hardened even more. He would take responsibility for raising Hae Sol himself.

    “Let’s go.”

Feeling that their business was concluded, Chaeheon stood up first and pulled Lee Jun’s hand. When Lee Jun reluctantly rose, Han Jeong-min waved, not seeming to want to detain them.

“See you again next time, Lee Jun.”

Lee Jun gave a small nod and followed Chaeheon out of the room.

The door closed behind them. Just being in a space disconnected from Han Jeong-min felt like he could finally breathe.

As Lee Jun relaxed his body and steadied his breathing, Chaeheon stood idly, waiting for him.

“You seemed to have a hard time.”

    “It was just… awkward.”

It wasn’t difficult. But it was a bit overwhelming with so many emotions passing through him.

“You said he was a friend you’d see for a long time, right?”

Lee Jun recalled something he’d heard before and asked Chaeheon.

His perspective was different from Chaeheon’s… He seemed like a decent person to keep as a friend, so Lee Jun thought he could understand if Chaeheon saw him for a long time.

    “I suppose.”

Chaeheon nodded in affirmation, but his expression wasn’t particularly pleased.

“But my thoughts have changed a little.”

As Chaeheon added his next words, Lee Jun looked at him, wondering what he was about to say.

“He doesn’t seem normal. I’ll have to see him again when he’s gained a bit more gravitas.”

At Chaeheon’s light reply, Lee Jun offered a weary smile. It seemed like he was criticizing Han Jeong-min, but ultimately, it was something he could say because they were close. A close friend. Then, suddenly, Lee Jun brought up something that had bothered him during their earlier conversation.

“Jung Yuhan? It seems someone came looking for him too, saying they had his baby.”

    “Yeah.”

“Han Jeong-min seems to dislike that too, and I wanted to ask what he’d do if the same thing happened to him, but I missed my chance.”

“I think I can answer that. We talked about it before. Are you curious?”

Chaeheon acted as if it was no big deal, yet he didn’t open his mouth easily. Unaware of how much he was tormenting Lee Jun, he instead leaned his upper body towards Lee Jun, revealing a desire he seemed to have been holding back all along.

“I’ll tell you if you kiss me.”
