    Chapter Index

It was clear he’d just grabbed whatever he could, without anything matching. Lee Jun, who had opened the envelope and looked inside, raised his head.

    “You?”

    “Yes.”

    “What did you say?”

Lee Jun’s eyes narrowed. Chaeheon, intending to hear what he had to say, opened his mouth nonchalantly.

    “Lee Jun…”

    “You’d better speak well.”

Lee Jun clenched the envelope tightly and spoke through gritted teeth.

Every time the two-years-younger man tried to get cheeky like this, Lee Jun shot him a threatening look, as if he’d stomp him flat.

    “I will serve you well.”

It was obvious he had changed his words in a hurry, and Lee Jun was deliberating whether to call him out on it or not.

“Or perhaps it would be better to be honest. To say that we’ve started dating…”

    “Stop it.”

    “Can’t I say it?”

Chaeheon’s wheedling tone, which seemed unsuited yet strangely suited to his large build, made Lee Jun unable to hold back his laughter.

Chaeheon, feeling embarrassed, then let out a clear laugh, his neat lips parting, and laughed along.

Lately, they had many such moments.

The time they spent laughing together over trivial things and having ordinary conversations kept increasing.

    ‘This isn’t right…’

Perhaps he was having the wrong thoughts. Lee Jun, feeling a tickle in his chest for no reason, clutched the innocent envelope.

At the rustling sound, Chaeheon stopped laughing and looked over at Lee Jun.

    “I’ll wait in the car.”

As Chaeheon returned to the car, Lee Jun turned around, still clutching only the envelope. If he brought this, he felt sure they’d ask if he was really dating.

Thanks to stopping by the convenience store again before going into Chaeheon’s house, Lee Jun put on a movie he wanted to watch and opened a can of beer.

Now, Chaeheon’s house felt more familiar and cozy than his own. The biggest reason, of course, was the pheromones.

The faint pheromones subtly spread throughout his space were noticeable even when not consciously perceived, like fabric softener.

Chaeheon came out after showering, sat down naturally beside him, and opened a beer. His Adam’s apple moved significantly as he swallowed the cool drink, as if he had been thirsty.

    “Haa.”

Watching Chaeheon sigh in relief after finishing a whole can, Lee Jun casually asked,

    “Do you like it?”

    “Of course.”

    “What’s so good about it?”

“It’s the time I’ve always wanted.”

Chaeheon pulled a new beer towards him but didn’t open it, instead tilting it this way and that, looking at it.

“Attending classes with my significant other, eating meals, and sitting comfortably side-by-side like this, relaxing…”

Chaeheon let out a long sigh. His half-closed eyes looked as if they could close completely at any moment, and the corners of his mouth curved up in satisfaction. His languid expression itself seemed completely relaxed, truly at ease.

“It’s so good that not a single moment of the time it took to get here feels wasted.”

He didn’t know how much effort he had put in, from reuniting with Lee Jun, to holding onto him and shaking him with ridiculous demands, all to create this moment.

“It feels like I’ve returned to my rightful place.”

Chaeheon was mentioning something similar to what Lee Jun had felt in this house.

“That’s why I don’t want to break this moment even more.”

Chaeheon’s gaze met Lee Jun’s directly. Though Lee Jun had started this relationship wanting to sort things out, Chaeheon’s strong will was clear: he did not want it to end.

He couldn’t bring himself to tell such a Chaeheon that nothing had been resolved yet.

    “Just watch the movie.”

Lee Jun brushed off the conversation they had just had. Feeling Chaeheon comfortably settle beside him, Lee Jun’s gaze turned towards the screen. It was one of those nights where his eyes watched the movie, but he couldn’t remember a single thing about it.
