    Chapter Index

Having returned home, Haein stopped at the entrance, unable to enter because Lee Jun was standing there.

“Why are you standing like that?”

“Don’t you have anything to tell me?”

Usually, Haein would block Lee Jun from entering, but this time it was the opposite. With Lee Jun standing there with his arms crossed, the pressure was considerable.

    “What… to tell me?”

Haein, having many guilty secrets, flinched, not knowing what to say. Could he have found out she met Chaeheon?

    “You said you were working.”

    “No, that…”

Haein made an indignant face. She told him not to tell, but he must have already spilled it.

Blaming Chaeheon, who wasn’t there, Haein stealthily slipped inside.

“I told you. I’ll take care of Hae Sol myself now.”

“Does it make sense for a kid who should be studying to go back to school to be serving at a Gamjatang Restaurant?”

“Even the gamjatang… He told him everything.” Haein muttered, thinking of the unfeeling Chaeheon.

“I’m not going back to school.”

    “What?”

Not only Lee Jun but also his mother, Yoon Gyeong-hwa, who had been watching Hae Sol, came out, and Haein bit her lip as if realizing her mistake.

“Why are you all standing like that?” At Yoon Gyeong-hwa’s question, Lee Jun shook his head as if it was nothing and looked at Haein. He thought it would be better to talk where their mother wasn’t. But Haein, for some reason, impulsively said:

“I’ll say it here. Mom, I’m working.”

“Working? What kind of work all of a sudden…”

“I’m going to work and raise Hae Sol myself.”

    “Hey, Haein.”

“So, you shouldn’t even think about raising Hae Sol. I’m Hae Sol’s guardian, not you.”

Haein looked Lee Jun straight in the eye and spoke clearly.

    “I’m Hae Sol’s mother.”

Lee Jun forcibly swallowed the sigh that was about to escape. He had a feeling something like this would happen eventually. She had always felt sorry for him, and now she had finally acted.

“You go to Chaeheon. Even if Han Jeong-min finds out, I’ll take care of that too. So don’t worry about it.”

“What on earth are you talking about? Han Jeong-min? Haein, are you telling me…”

“Mom, give me Hae Sol.” As Haein took Hae Sol from Yoon Gyeong-hwa and went into the room, Lee Jun stared at the door. The stable life he had enjoyed while dating Chaeheon began to crack.

Lee Jeong-yun, who was listening to the lecture, turned her gaze to the side. Two men seated diagonally. It was Chaeheon and Lee Jun, who had started going around together sometime ago.

“Haa.” At Lee Jeong-yun’s sigh, Kim Gyeong-hun, who was sitting next to her, looked back and then realized where she was looking.

    “Focus on the lecture.”

“Of course, I should focus. I should, but I can’t.”

Lee Jeong-yun even put down the pen she was holding and cupped her face with both hands. Kim Gyeong-hun looked at her as if she was pathetic, given her open intent to simply admire them.

He nudged Lee Jeong-yun’s arm. Because of that, one of the hands supporting her face slipped, and Lee Jeong-yun glared at him.

    “Why did you hit me?”

    “Stop looking.”

    “How can I not look?”

    “Why are you looking?”

    “Is looking a crime too?”

Lee Jeong-yun glared, acting as if she couldn’t even look as she pleased, and Kim Gyeong-hun shook his head as if giving up. Then, a sudden thought surprised him, and he asked Lee Jeong-yun:

“By any chance, do you like them? Those two, no, at least one of them?”

    “What?”

“Which one is it? Who do you like? You’re not thinking of confessing, are you? Don’t do it.”

Kim Gyeong-hun spoke in a low voice because of the class, but his fidgeting body caused the nearby students to all look over.

“What are you talking about? Of course, I like them.”

“Hey, hey, don’t do that. Even if you like them, it can’t happen.”

“What does that mean?” As Kim Gyeong-hun was already trying to dissuade her, Lee Jeong-yun’s eyes narrowed, trying to figure out what he meant.

Only then did Kim Gyeong-hun realize he had exaggerated and hunched his body. But that didn’t make him disappear.

“It’s just that way, you know.”

“Suspicious… Anyway, just looking at those two makes me happy.” Instead of pestering Kim Gyeong-hun further, Lee Jeong-yun looked at the two men, who were handsome even from behind.

“When Senior Chaeheon wasn’t hanging out with him, I was a little disappointed, you know? But my thoughts have changed these days. It’s nice to see them together at a glance.”

“What… I thought you liked someone else.” Kim Gyeong-hun shook his head. It was fortunate because even if Lee Jeong-yun chose someone, there was no way it could happen since those two were already dating.

“But it’s a shame. Today’s the last day our group meets.”

“Peep moderately. Got it?” Kim Gyeong-hun pushed Lee Jeong-yun’s other hand away and even turned her face, but it was useless.

“I made the PowerPoint Presentation Material like this. Take a look.” Lee Jun turned his laptop so everyone could see. Chaeheon hadn’t paid much attention since he had been watching it all along, but Kim Gyeong-hun and Lee Jeong-yun had.

With each slide that passed, their expressions gradually changed to surprise.

    “Did Senior really do this?”

“I learned a little about design.”

“This isn’t ‘a little’ at all. It looks like it was done by a professional.”

At Kim Gyeong-hun’s surprised mumble, Lee Jeong-yun nodded. As the two continued to exclaim in surprise and admiration, Lee Jun also remained quiet from a certain point. Since he was doing outsourced work, it wasn’t just ‘a little’ he had learned.

“But why did Lee Jun come here instead of the design department?” Chaeheon, who had been glancing over from the side, suddenly asked out of curiosity. It was a genuine question, as the quality of the PowerPoint Presentation was so high it made him wonder if he had chosen the wrong major.

As if agreeing with Chaeheon’s question, Kim Gyeong-hun and Lee Jeong-yun also looked at Lee Jun.

Lee Jun, receiving the gaze of the three people, sighed, wondering why it had come to this. He had only made one PowerPoint Presentation. Since it seemed they wouldn’t move on without an answer, Lee Jun casually gave a common reason.

“It’s good to be good at everything, isn’t it?”

    “Everything?”

“You never know what kind of work you’ll do later, and if you know more things, the number of jobs you can do might increase.”

He had also learned about this design work from an older colleague he worked with at a PC bang part-time job, and that’s how he started receiving it.

“And it’s not that big of a deal.”
