    Chapter Index

To Han Jeong-min’s question, the man who had brought information about Lee Jun nodded gravely. He was a person who worked for Han Jeong-min’s grandfather, not Han Jeong-min himself.

    “You have a son now.”

“It must have been hard for her alone, don’t you think?”

Haein was indeed Lee Jun’s younger sister and had given birth to her son.

“The Chairman will not stand idly by.”

The Bodyguard picked up a tablet, opened a picture of Hae Sol, and held it down for Han Jeong-min to see. Han Jeong-min moved the screen, looking at each photo of Hae Sol. The unique cuteness of a baby was evident, making them pleasant to look at.

“Will our family accept a woman from such an unremarkable background?”

“That will not be the case.”

“Even you, Bodyguard, are skeptical, so what about me?”

Han Jeong-min looked at another picture. Hae Sol’s face seemed to resemble Haein, but as he kept looking, it also seemed to resemble himself.

    “Are you sure about this?”

“What can I do about what’s already born? I’ll have to bring him in. Grandfather will probably like him too, being the sixth-generation only son. More importantly…”

Han Jeong-min stopped at one picture and stared intently at someone. It was Lee Jun, holding Hae Sol.

“There’s someone I need to meet. There’s a person who knew who I was, yet pretended not to.”

There was pleasure in imagining how that person would react when he revealed what he knew upon meeting them.

The Bodyguard, noticing what Han Jeong-min was thinking, asked with concern.

“I heard he is currently seeing Chaeheon. Is that alright?”

Han Jeong-min took his hand off the tablet and leaned back.

“Chaeheon definitely liked that person a lot.”

It was to the point where he wondered if Chaeheon had ever been like that before. He hadn’t seen anyone Chaeheon had dated previously, so Han Jeong-min had never been this surprised.

“But are Chaeheon and I really that different?”

The Bodyguard immediately understood what he meant and silently picked up the tablet.

“I knew you’d understand, Bodyguard. Would that Chairman just leave Chaeheon be? Lee Jun, or any ordinary partner for that matter, wouldn’t satisfy him.”

“But couldn’t it work if it’s Chaeheon? Seeing how quietly he’s been living all this time, hasn’t he completely distanced himself from business succession?”

Han Jeong-min scoffed at the Bodyguard’s speculation.

“Would they send a kid like that to meetings? No way.”

Han Jeong-min stood up and continued speaking.

“In my opinion, it seems they’ll put him forward at some point. Perhaps they might even create such an opportunity themselves.”

    Han Jeong-min spoke with certainty.

“They will never let go of Chaeheon, no matter what it takes.”

For the Bodyguard, who couldn’t quite accept it, Han Jeong-min revealed a secret known only to a very few.

“Chaeheon made a deal with the Chairman, didn’t he? The reason that was possible is…”

Chaeheon had once mentioned this in passing, which is how he knew.

“Because he made their cars the best-selling in the world.”

Han Jeong-min said that NK Group’s car sales became number one in the world thanks to Chaeheon’s advice. Naturally, it was an unbelievable claim.

“I’m not sure if that’s possible.”

“Why? Because it was ten years ago? Because Chaeheon was just fifteen, so it’s impossible?”

The Bodyguard nodded, and Han Jeong-min smiled as if he had expected it. That’s why it had to remain a secret. After all, even if people knew, there would be no one to believe it.

“Since it was possible, the deal was struck.”

There’s no way the Chairman would give up on a kid like that, right?
